Hate that we won't be getting anything new with the Forspoken universe, like a sequel could easily take this to the next level, really enjoyed this game...
I agree. Take this same combat system, add some new power sets and technical upgrades, and then actually hire a professional, competent scriptwriter. Would love to see it.
@Sagegabs There's plenty of videos and other spaces where ppl are over hating on the game, and yet you chose to respond to a positive comment about it lol? I've clearly played it already and formed my opinion, what a waste of your time little kid lol..
The beginning is some of the cringiest, God awful crap I've ever seen. The whole gang interaction seemed like it was written by a child. Absolutely atrocious.
It's shocking how terrible the first two hours of this game are. Once you get into the main game, it gets so much better. What a baffling design choice.
Been holding off on buying this, but considering the sale, I'll pick it up. I'll also be subscribing. Awesome video man, looking forward to more of your work.
I was one of the people that was hyped for it before release but it was a huge let down imo. The whole experience was extremely unsatisfying and the only thing I really enjoyed was the water powers... could run around for an hour at a time just being a waterbender. I thought the story had promise but it was fumbled so bad it became almost irrelevant. Just overall really disappointed with this game and really wish it could have been better.
I appreciate the video actually getting into the details of the game! Idk if you were already aware, but the last half second of your lines were frequently cut short in the edit
I get that the main character comes from a rough upbringing in NYC but you would think that she would warm up to a fantasy land and start to have character development from snarky teen to unwilling and self professed hero, but no. She stays working against the game and the player. The world felt less fantasy and lazy instead of rich and colorful. That being said I think the traverse system is awesome and unique to any game.
I critized the demo didnt play the game. Now im 4 hours in the game and i can say it is a very generic dull game but the powers are fun and it has an horrible amount of cutscenes but its more entertaining than horizon zero dawn journey to the west
@@tenorenstrom after how many chapters does it get fun. This game is 70 to 80% cutscenes, walkscenes(cutscenes but you cant skip you have to walk through them) uninteressting story and traversal. Iv just completed the game and thought it was pretty enjoyable. Story does gets better towards the end. The game lacks depth but makes up for the fresh gameplay of zipping through the open world. Also the sountrack is very Square final fantasy like. Lets not forget about the action cinematic scenes, top quality.
The game is a little less than good. Story was slow as hell, and I hated the editing of the story and how it mixes with the gameplay. The gameplay itself was a bit clunky too. Then I hate that I was mostly grinding in gameplay when it comes to just beating enemies that aren't neccesarily boss characters or even lesser boss characters.
The traversal is pretty cool. Everything else is mediocre. Hope they can utilize the traversal mechanics from this game in a much better one down the road.
About 10 hours in myself. I’m quite surprised by the game. It’s visual line of the best looking games I’ve played. Both technically and design wise (omg the clothes are so good). The combat is fun and quite original. The setting is unique enough that it keeps me on my toes. Story seems a bit meh so far. The only real downside is the gameplay design of the open world. It’s just too lazy and samey. It’s still better than the open world of many other games, like the terrible open world of ff7:rebirth. But it’s still really a weak point.
Game is like learning how to whistle you probably find it interesting? For a while story isn’t what will drive you the combat and magic effects are cool and fun but that’s about it . If you have nothing to play or want to try something different for a few hours give it a shot .
So much potential 😢 hopefully they give us another game with same battle mechanics using magic and parkour in a actual open world sand box MMO RPG with online play but wishful thinking 😂
I got it for free, and im 60 hours in. I love the game, i dont mind the dialog either. The game is just fun to me. Some may think differently, but the game is really good, in my opinion.
Been actually been waiting for this to hit PS plus and now it's here and I'm not sure I wanna put 50 hours into the platinum. I started it and it was painfully bad but I quit before it actually started because I didn't wanna trigger a trophy until I did more research. So far it really reminds me of immortals of avium which had good combat but a useless equipment system and awful story.
@@prez3756The wasn't much in the way of character growth. She didn't really have much change till nearing the end of the game which is still out into question with the non-linear choice given.
It was mid, but the cyber klan made too loud of a noise and convinced normies that was the worst thing on earth because the protagonist didn’t appeal to their superficial senses
Underrated comment, playing the game on PS5 right now. Cyber Klan sounds about right to me. A foster kid who aged out of the system would have these types of dreams, is likely to make these kind of mistakes in life, and any of us would have our minds blown. It reminds me a bit of Narnia actually. She’s only 21, right? There are a lot of things I would change about the game but first play through and learning how the studio closed after this… I don’t think the writers or devs deserved the memes. It’s the type of criticism that makes me worried for Ghost of Yokei, my personal most anticipated game.
To me this game is a mirror of The Last of Us. TLOU had an awesome story and acting but the gameplay was thoroughly mediocre. Forspoken had bland acting and story but I loved the gameplay
Tone matters. Generally, exaggerated male voices more tolerable than exaggerated female voices which become grading to the ears much faster. It is what it is.
Exactly. People have a herd mentality and go with what rules the cyber world. If the cyber world are professing a narrative the herd will follow without objectively thinking for themselves.
It was ok. It had the same kind of "cringe" as the Shazam movies, I wouldn't call it woke, the world is original so the diversity isn't out of the place. It is not like an established world like in Rings of Power or Dragon Age Veilguard that got changed for the sake of it. And considering the main hub Forspoken is one of the last places that population could flee to you have an explanation why it is so diverse. Technically the graphic and combat are great, when it gets going it is kinda relaxing, so I am not regretting buying it. Although I wouldn't buy it at full price.
This game was trashed before anyone knew anything except the main character was Black. It was then I realized, that the industry secretly decides which game is going to be destroyed that year.
Played it and already finished 20 hours in, the story is mid, decent at best by the end, but the gameplay is extremely fun, both in traversal and combat, specially after the first main boss, do give it a try atleast.

Don’t really understand the criticism of the writing. Is it awesome? No. But it’s much better than the vast majority of fantasy games.
No it isnt

I jusy bought this for $9aud ($6usd) new. If it sucks i will take the hit
Game play awesome better than Ragnarok story awesome better than most the crap out now people are just mad that the main character is a mulatta

Or is it a „woke“ game again? 🙄
Its great for basically free on ps. I like it (kinda)
I pre-ordered this game & personally I loved it. The open world was a little bland but they could've built on that in a sequel.
Well unfortunately that sequel is never happening 😭
I did like Olevia
Frey is not more annoying than the likes of Nathan Drake or Peter Parker. Y'all are doing too much.
