Greedfall Review: Should You Buy In 2024?

Greedfall developed by Spiders was released nearly 5 years ago. With Greedfall 2: The Dying World around the corner, I figured now would be a great time to jump in and try out this RPG.

Atlas Fallen Review | A Low-Budget Assassin's Creed?
Sadly the PC Performance is absolutely horrible. Playing on a rtx 3070 i can just about get to run it on low settings in 1440p
yeah, who wants thousands of hours of playtime for their money?😂
If I'm honest I want all the RPG crap to be taken out and to just copy Hitman.
Loved your review, here’s a sub!
That means a lot thank you!
Later in the game, you can actually change the decor of the Lighthouse via the book on the balcony on the pedestal in from of the stairs to the rooms. I found out by chance, vhen I hovered over the book with my mouse and it showed I can interact with it. I guess it unlocks once you finish the floating library. I dunno - guess :)
Thanks for sharing that information, I’ll go and take a look, guess I must’ve missed it!
I bought yesterday. Baghdad map is beautiful. However game sysytems not good.We don't need wanted sysytem.and token system.
Its on Gamepass baby! Instant play for me
Why is it totally fine that the vast majority of chests you find are stupid cosmetics? That is the most annoying thing about the game...
I'm assuming your expectations out of those chests would have been some type of gear item? That was my initial thought too
Thanks for your opinions dude. I know I won't be playing this anytime soon because of the RPG having been abandonned after 3 games of choices and consequences build up. But it's good to know Veilguard can be fun game at times ^^
To think Bioware stole from indie studio
I just dug this out my ps4 box. Was looking to scratch a rpg itch after playing visions of mana. Why did I quit 5 hrs in. Good game. Underrated
It's a 9/10 for me on PC. Gotta knock it down a point for having shit optimization. I have a beastly PC and can run every other game maxed out, but on Jedi Survivor I have to go on low settings with all features turned off to be playable.
That seems to be the common theme, it has more trouble running on really high end PCs compared to mid / lower end?
I love this game. While it runs alright on console, it still runs poorly on PC(4080 super, I9 14900K, 32GB Ram) At this point I think it’s never getting fixed. It’s such a shame.
Really? I was doing some research while making this video and read that performance had improved on PC as well
@@NextGameUp_ You do realize that they lie all the time so people buy the game....? It literally happens all the time. You making these videos is also part of the problem b/c it is complete misinformation. It does not run well on pc.
@@NextGameUp_ It’s definitely improved a lot on PC since launch but it still suffers from several performance issues. Most notable is poor frame rate in certain areas and texture compilation stutter.
I really like this game don't know why it gets so much hate. Great graphics, basic but nonetheless an excellent shooter. I think it is better and more fun than halo infinate campaign.
Cause it's EA, even if sometime they made some really good games like this or Lost in Random, by now they will always have a terrible reputation.

I got the game recently it plays well no performance issues but I'm going to be honest with you the pivot to the open world sucks. They have Cal dying from drop he would've survived in the first game. The rumors suck and honestly feel like time wasters especially the gardening, fishing and the pyloon Saloon crap same goes for Jedha. I prefer fallen order's level design over. Thanks for calling out the clunky feeling in the combat. It's clear the devs prioritized difficulty at the expense of a more emersive jedi experience. Enemies also seem to spam unblockables like the electro hammer guys from the bedlam raiders. The puzzles aren't difficult but they get tedious in this one. All in all I prefer the old level design over planets like Jedha or Koboh.
I was looking for a recent review bc i want to give it a try now. Thanks
Glad you liked it, thank you!
Im in 24 hours of gameplay of jedi survivor all i can say that the performance mode of jedi survivor are now great.
Yup, wayyyyy better than when the game launched.
So they did patch most of it? I have kinda bad specs (gtx 1070) and it runs 60 fps smooth ish on high graphics, always wondered why people said it ran terribly on high specs. I did just start really playing it like 3 weeks ago so
Good balanced review I find :) It even gave me the itch of playing it again XD
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
The year 2024 , graphics the year 2000 , it's sad. It's like the whole game industry is stuck on a certian game engine. How many years we gonna see these blurry games..
To be fair they’ve worked on the blurriness a lot but yeah it was a total mess when it first released.
I really did try with Greedfall, but i absolutely hated it. Every interior looked identical to the last, character models were horrendous - and the rest of the game didnt make up for that, it was too distracting. Too many skill trees to piss about in, it just bored me to death. Also an "rpg" ish game where you cant jump whenever you like is just a pain in the ass
I just finished the game right now, it was SO GOOD
a good game indeed, but i don't consider it one of my favorite, weirdly, that's the case with every Arkane games i played since Dishonored 1, they are very original and filled with good ideas, but there is this little "click" that doesn't occur with me. This doesn't prevent me from being their titles at launch though; Aside from Redfall (as i'm on PlayStation), the only one i didn't play is Deathloop but mostly because i don't know if that's a multiplayer title or not (or if internet is required to play it).
Loved this game, wished it was longer!
😭 So sad Arkane Austin was closed. Arkane was so good, Dishonored (1 & 2) and Prey are in my faves of all time list.
put 30 hours into this game the moment I got it amazing game
did you play the DLC?
@@NextGameUp_ no not yet but I'm thinking of it
Literally one of the best games ever made and people hate on it simply because of the name Prey which belonged to a game that almost nobody even played in the mid-200s whose sequel looked great in that one trailer we saw. But who knows if it would have lived up to that trailer.
I didn’t realize people hate on it, but regardless it’s a really good game that does a lot of unique things, as far as Arkane games go, this is my favorite by far
Just picked Greedfall up for "free" with Twitch Prime (Amazon prime memberships). I think I'll get stuck in after I finish a few other games I have in my line up first.
been playing this game and its awesome
Yeah it's REALLY good.
Hell yea!
I think the stealth was amazing, problem is most people just either aren't good at stealth games or don't properly know how to utilize all the mechanics. Planning ahead and taking groups of enemies silently never felt so satisfying, i'd say it might have the best stealth in the series, yes Unity also had good stealth, but personally unity's stealth felt clunky and inconsistent, in Mirage it feels smooth and consistent. And while parkour isn't as good as Unity i still think it's a close 2nd, running from enemies trough alleys and vanishing is one of my favorite parts of Mirage and i think it was designed that way. I think the game is a solid 7.5/10, it's just that people are looking at it from the wrong lens. Some wanted it to be Unity 2.0 and some wanted it to be Valhalla 2.0 when in reality it's trying to be something else. I wish Ubisoft took this as a good thing and decided to slowly go back to it's roots, but my hopes aren't up for Shadows.
The combat looks smoother than Technimancer. I'm still working on rhat one. Just got the gild edition for free on gog. Hoping for a better experience than Skyrim and the combat seems better than vanilla at least.
really tried to beat this game but the Bugs really were too much for me
Damm this Chanel is underrated
I just recently played this, I wish this and order of 1800 was longer.
Great vid. Nice to see this game get the attention it deserves. You got my sub for sure.
I appreciate that! Thank you!
It was a really good game
Was definitely a fun play through!
Good to see Vampyr getting some love. I've played the game at least 5 times or more so far. As great as the dialogue is, I usually skip a lot of it. Especially fact that I've played it a few times. Improvements the game could have..... Combat feels a little bit crunky. It could have better mechanics dealing with multiple attackers. And the game has a habit of freezing. I would love to see a sequel. Maybe have the game set during Lady Ashbury's killing spree
Did you go a different ending for each playthrough?
@@NextGameUp_ only the 2 best endings. During my first play through, I chose the wrong dialogue with Nurse Crane and Sean Hampton. So their districts were a pain to keep above the threshold. The only time I've gone to kill the NPC's is when I was getting all the trophies. Overall, I like to keep everyone alive during each gameplay 🙂
Greedfall is a good B to B+ that sits in my favorites. It scratches the Bioware/Witcher itch if you're looking for an action-rpg with lots of character moments and don't mind guns in your fantasy. If you can get it on sale, I highly recommend it.
Vampyr is not really marketed or considered a soulslike, it's combat is much more akin to Arkham Knight or Witcher
Think so? I found the combat far more soulslike given the dodge mechanics and overall flow - I can definitely see the Witcher
I feel like this game didnt get enough attention at all. Thats too bad. Cant belive the life is strange creators made this, its so cool
It really has a unique feeling and has some original features as well, I found it somewhat underrated
Crazy, I was just thinking of this game today and suddenly I get this in my recommended!
The algorithm truly at play 😂
I really bad with horror games by any chance is this game really scary?
Im a total coward, it’s not very scary. There’s no jump scares or anything, the atmosphere is a bit eery though. The scariest part for me was an abandoned part of a hospital next to it, where some ghoulies run around. Aside from that it’s not scary.
Definitely not a horror game in the traditional sense, it’s not scary at all! I don’t like horror games either
I like the theme and system. I want to have a game where a vampire own a hospital
Great video. I had a blast playing this game, a lot of fond memories (if somewhat dark)!
I appreciate it! Yeah the game was definitely a unique experience!
First xD
