Back in 2019 we stayed at Lake Garda for 3 days, but it was more on the southern side and the opposite side of the lake. The road around the lake was crazy to drive. We love Italy and hope to buy some property near Florence once we retire. Glad you enjoyed it

Can't wait to see more running content from Italy! My husband and I want to go in the near future. I love "touring" new places while running! I body feels the same way when we travel long distances. Nothing better than hitting the gym or going for a run to cure it, in my opinion. Movement is medicine for sure!!

You slept 7 hours?! I wish I could do that on planes. Also super interesting that you connected in Istanbul to get to Venice. The two routes I usually end up taking to get there is either through JFK or Munich. My family is from that region (I am a dual citizen) - if you get a chance to go back I highly recommend any trail running in the Dolomitis. Cortina d'Ampezzo is a great place to stay - it is a total cute mountain town but athletic focused (so there are a bunch of well-known brands with stores there like Patagonia for example).
And yeah, trails just everywhere! It's crazy. And most are very well marked and tell you how far you are from some next point. When I come back from running trails there I find all our local trails here in San Diego disappointing. Italy spoils you.
I leave for Italy tomorrow morning! But we will be on the Aosta Valley side (UTMB goes through this area). Not excited for the jetlag and 15 hours or travel time (literally this is the only time I wished I lived on the east coast), but stoked for the rest of it!

The first words that came to mind, aside from "spectacular trip", were when I saw the percussor, that Allie is sooo smart!!! Oh my gosh, 20 hours on the plane, that can feel like you were hit by a car....sort of like how I feel....oh yeah, I was hit by a car! Sometimes you just have to laugh, no matter what! Likely that percussor is the best thing you could bring, next to Spencer! What incredible scenery, beautiful trails, and for that matter....pizza! Allie Ostradner (perhaps that is the Italian spelling of your last name?) .....have an amazing trip! Looking forward to your next video.

@@allie_ostrander Thank you Allie O! I am glad that you are having an amazing trip in Italy, and that you were able to run, swim and hike. Well, maybe that hugely vertical hike after 20 hours of plane travel and jet lag....Yikes! But you did well. I sure hope that you are feeling much better. Bringing the percussor was so smart!!!
Have an amazing trip. I am healing up, and hope to be able to jog in another month and maybe get on a stationary bike in 2 weeks. No more road bike ever again, and my attorney is trying to identify the driver that hit me while riding around a library parking lot and having the right of way.
In the meantime...I shall enjoy watching you run in Italy and wherever else your travels take you to. Have fun, see the sites, and enjoy some awesome Italian cuisine!

There's a whole world of workouts that are both super good and a lot of fun. I'm not big on mileage running 'minimalist' footwear so I'm focussing more on speed and running form.
