MK 1995 was brilliant.
The Golden Hawaiian Swordsman Dragon HIGHLY AGREES! It's STILL watchable, even in January 2025!
@@TheGoldenHawaiianSwordsmanDrag Agreed
The soundtrack was fire as well.
Agreed
That slow-motion entrance along with this guitar is extra Godlike !!!
I still remember my reactions as a kid back in 1995 in the theatre during this scene.
Same here! The movie theater in Atlanta, Georgia went buck wild crazy when it happened!
Did the people in the theater clap and go nuts when Liu Kang did the bicycle kick on Reptile?
@mikeinthetruth yes.
"Scorpion and Sub Zero...deadly enemies but slaves under my power !"
What a phrase guys.
Deadliest of enemies*
And now
"Scorpion and Sub Zero... brothers by arms and Earthrealm protectors"
"Get over here" by scorpion is eye opening
Back in 1995 watching this movie with my friends in the theater...best Mortal Kombat movie till date. Loved the whole cast. I wished they had made a better sequel.
how old were you in 95? i wish i saw it in theaters but i was only 5, luckily i was able to play mortal kombat 2 on snes though. been in love with the franchise ever since!
@Bluedreams-tq8em I was 15 at the time. I remember five moments in the theater when everybody went nuts while watching this movie. 1: the epic introduction of Sub Zero and Scorpion, 2: the amazing fight scene between Lui Kang and Reptile ( everybody applauded when Lui Kang did the bicycle kick). 3: Johnny Cage's fight with Scorpion ended in a "friendship". 4: Johnny Cage performing the nutt cracker on Goro and 5: Boss Battle between Lui Kang and Shang Tsung. Great good old times. Playing Mortal Kombat 1, 2 and 3 on the SNES with my friends. Great memories.
Johnny Cage, Smokey, and John Connor 3 of the greatest characters that never had a proper sequel
Same. There's a video in which Christopher Lambert is signing an autograph for a fan and explains to the latter that he tried to get the producer to write a better script for the second movie. The thing is that the damn meet and greet place was too noisy that you can't hear what Christopher is saying what was the producer's response. But yeah, it's a shame we didn't get a trilogy or at least 2 movies because the first one was very promising.
The sequel to this film should have been much better
Best Mortal Kombat movie. Period!!
HANDS DOWN!!!!!!!
FALSE
Although it's not a high bar, this movie definitely can stand on its own. Really captured the gritty fantasy feel of the first game. If only the reboot held the energy of that amazing intro throughout the movie
Hands down
What do you mean best ? This is only MK movie, rest of them are parody
I’ve always loved Scorpion’s eyes in this film. Out of all the games and media, I feel like these undead eyes are the most intimidating. Even as a kid and he was my fave, it was spooky to look at but yet so cool.
When scorpion and subzero made that entrance, shit just got real!!!
It was a dope entrance
Bro best ever entrance. I still applause this movie it old but still the best when you watch it again
I remember seeing it opening day in August 1995…This part right here, the whole movie theater crowd went ape shit 🤩🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🤩
This when raiden shows up!
@@3tone_RythmeI like when Lu fights sun zero cause sun zero entrance of him walking down the stairs is so epic
I’ll never forget this moment in the theater.
Simply One of the greatest entrances in cinema
😮💨🔥❄️
The Golden Hawaiian Swordsman Dragon HIGHLY AGREES! It's STILL watchable in January 2025!
Scorpion and Sub-Zero, deadliest enemies, but slaves under Tsung's mind control.
Christopher Lambert's icy voice really does work for a bored immortal being.
I saw this in the movie theater as a kid and when Scorpion and Sub Zero entered the room, the theater went crazy
American cinema I take it ?
Everyone is gangsta until scorpion and sub zero stroll in 🦂🦂❄️❄️
Theater went crazy when these two came on the scene
Too bad they're both weak.
I was 6 when I was in that theater.
I was like 6/7 when this came out back in the 90s
Man was a full theatre, was awesome seeing these 2 walk out.
I loved this movie. Not exactly the storyline I wanted from the game. But I loved the story, casting and costumes. It had a lot of heart.
Some of these sets cost hundreds, nay, thousands of pennies to build but the story is there and the action doesn't dissappont. I love this movie.
Looking back this movie was very well done. It had a great storyline and some really good fights. The sequel is where everything went left.
C.L.A.S.S.I.C.. Timeless!
The Golden Hawaiian Swordsman Dragon HIGHLY AGREES! Even in January 2025, it's STILL timeless!
Gosh the nostalgia, I was 12 when it came out and convinced my aunt to take me and my brother to go see it, and my mom wouldnt do it because the game was too violent for us lmao. My dad gave my aunt the money for the tickets and snacks behind my moms back...the best MK movie hands down.
Your mom's a Karen.
My goodness, the soundtracks, the fights, and the movie is pure perfection.
I remember the theatre going wild when those two came outta that door!🙌🏾
Low key jealous lol
Scorpion and subzero deadliest of enemies, but slaves under my power 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
I knew I wasn't the only one who heard the 'of' in there.
Cheesy? Yes.. Classic for 1995?? Yes?? Great soundtrack..especially the title track?? YES. MORTAL KOMBAT!!!!! ;)
I probably have to watch it again. But the last time I watched it, I wouldn't overall classify it as cheesy.
The MK 1997 movie however is a different story 😂
You had to be there in 95 truly a gem of a moment !!
3:29 I felt his pain I would have been tripping too like hold we gotta fight ppl like them 😂
Very Jack Burton like rant he had there
Say what you will, i really liked this movie, i still do. The fights are very well coreographed... Dialogues are cheesy and acting is kinda bad, some CGI didn't age well, but i still like it a lot.
Agree 100. If you were a fan of the game, there's no way you won't like the movie. Call it a guilty pleasure, but it's a classic video game movie!
Agreed
What you came for starts at 1:35
Thank you!
02:00 That gun still can shoot
And the reboot revisited that.
But the bullet couldn't get out due to being frozen
And it would explode in one’s hand if tried.
One of the best video game adaptations. It was great that in 100 minutes they managed to include so many memorable fights and all major characters, in a truly memorable and effective way. Thailand always works as a filming location, costumes were nice, and Shang Tsung's actor (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa) always delivers (be sure to check 1991's Showdown in Little Tokyo).
The director originally thought the bird thing coming out of scorpions hand was actually in the game and didn't know it was just a spike chain.
I looked more like a demonic snake than a bird to me.
out of all the MK movies...Reptile scene and fight was by far the best for me. With Johnny n scorpion right behind.
Cage and scorpion fight was the best
+1 on Cage v. Scorpion...
In the point of view of Martial Arts, I agree - Cage vs Scorpion.
Love that entrance
Subzero is still one of the best names of any character ever
ua-cam.com/video/81YQEP7sds4/v-deo.html
2:04 When the beat drops!!!
Damn i was so young back then :(
Johnny Cage having a Jack Burton moment. “I’m a reasonable guy, but I just experienced some very unreasonable things!”
Definitely enjoyed this movie
Got that radio handy
Great movie got that radio handy.
05:40 - "Sorry!" 😀
Always love that bit from Raiden, lol
Raiden has a great sense of humor
Reptiles front flip kick on Lu Kang sending him through that wall is the best bit in the film
My name is
Raiden
My voice is
Christopher Lambert
And my look is
Thomas Jane
Damn now I can't unsee that Thomas Jane resemblance
Best MK movie ever made
This was the best movie by far, they mess up so many video game movies from 90s smh but this one was the best then come bs after this one smh
Best video game turned movie movie
Sighs....I miss 1995.
It has began!!!
Mortal Kombat
I used this movie to retrace my memory after I heard about the franchise on Sega, Johnny Cage, Sub-Zero and Sonya was eye opening
This and MK Conquest is the best
Agreed
We were spoiled with this movie as kids!!
Best scene in any Mortal Kombat movie!!
The movie that made my 7 year old head explode 😂
Remember watching this on borrowed VHS from friends or from rental VHS shop back in the 90s. The good old days 👍👍
This movie knew how to use techno music to make the movie ever better, and the fight scenes were just great
Tv series Mortal Kombat Conquest and this movie were in golden times, latest one wasn't bad either, hope they can keep this up
Best video game movie ever period..
I love the way they look, especially Scorpion's mask. They look totally badass but not over the top.
(To Sub-Zero and Scorpion) Your entrance was good. (motions to Raiden) His was better. The difference: showmanship!
Vayy bee o dönemin en iyisini çekmişler adamlar helal olsun 🔥🔥👍👍
That kharacter intro was and still is iconic!
It’s the beat drop for me on scorpions theme music 🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽
I remember seeing this in the theatre when it came out…people went crazy during this scene
I really love how Johnny and Liu interacted. Liu was an asshole for no reason and I loved it.
This is how the new one should have been done, just updated CGI, actual blood brutality, and it would have been amazing. The sets for this movie were incredible. The ship, the island, scorpions “hell”. Phenomenal
At the time, I didn’t realize how dope it was for Shang Tsung to have Sub-Zero and Scorpion enslaved. Definitely my favorite MK villain.
amazing movie
Best Entrance EVER!
Peak Cinema Entrance 🤌🏽
Got that radio 📻 handy lol 😝??? I about died 😂
Man what a great movie, it was a great intro to MK. You wanted to play the game afterwards.
This was the best. 💯
Best decent Mortal Kombat movie ever!
Easily the greatest entrance in cinema history
That entrance was probably one of the best moments in the movie, i still get an adrenaline rush. Although I will stand behind what I've always said about this movie I think they should of used the Lightning God from the movie "Big Trouble in Little China" but I get they used this Raiden for the comic relief. Nonetheless great movie.
This movie was robbed at the Oscar’s
Loving mortal Kombat as a kid we couldn't wait to go to the movies to see this and everybody and I mean everybody had that theme song stuck in they head
I remember catching this movie in theaters!
I always did love this MK movie!😁
Also I imagine Walker (Chuck Norris) and the Texas rangers being chosen for this and seeing their fighting skills I believe they really would be able to manage THIS!😏😂
Scorpion dead pale eyes are the best..
I've always love this part 💙💛
GOAT movie🎉
Самый лучший фильм МК именно 1995г. А эта сцена одна из самый топовых.
now this is the mortal kombat movie i grew up watching
I cant believe that this film is STILL the best MK film. Why can't they get it right? 😢
It remains a classic
Shang Tsung, introduces himself, offers his services, compliments her. Johnny: “Hey, be nice to the lady.” 🙄
This scene was so bada**. I was so immersed!
The remake was good, especially to include all the characters in one ark, but this is the best without a doubt. "Get over here" was better then when Johnny was fighting scorpion than when the new Scorpion said it to subzero in the cage
This Sonya Blade was tougher than the second movie
I still like this the most out of all the mk movies.
The Golden Hawaiian Swordsman Dragon remembers this scene! He & his older brother went buck wild crazy when Scorpion & Sub-Zero appeared!
This was better than the remake.
"IT HAS BEGUN!"
Wish i could have watched this in theaters. :(
2:19 LOL scorpion 😂
Best of the best MK
30 years ago? Wow!
2:16 CG back in the day. LOL
30 years since Mortal Kombat movie. 30 years since Fear Factory's "Demanufacture" album.
Raiden, lord of expositions
I remember watching this in the theater, and being very disappointed that Sub Zero and Scorpion, even tho through sorcery, were on the same side. Then I watched their fight sequences... 😮
