    Even more interesting fact about Bridget Wilson: she finished filming on Billy Madison and got on a plane to Thailand the very next day for Mortal Kombat. She had no martial arts experience, so her fight scenes were all shot last to give her the most time to train. She did all her training on set.

U had Bridget Wilson at her ultimate sexiest best , Cameron Diaz at her ultimate sexiest best , Sharon Stone at her ultimate sexiest best & the girl from Starship Troopers at her ultimate sexiest best & any of them would have killed that role regardless ❤

    Mortal Kombat was not an initial take on Street Fighter JCVD. They wanted to make a game around JCVD Blood Sport, but he turned it down. MK was just supposed to rival SF in a datk gritty take on fighting games.

    • @lukasskye
      @lukasskye День тому

      Actually Ed Boon said in an interview that originally they pitched a game to Van Damme with a demo game using scenes from his movie Bloodsport, they wanted him to star in the game and call it "Van Damme" but he turned it down because he had another game deal going at the time with the Universal Soldier movie, a game that never happened, but JCVD has said numerous of times that he has regretted turning down the game idea and the role of Johnny Cage in the MK MOVIE. I'm not sure where they get that MK was originally supposed to be a Street Fighter JCVD game tho, that was never true. Lol

He also wouldn't have married Milla Jovovich, who he met on the set of Resident Evil. This movie stood the test of time. A true classic that I could watch a million times. As much as those RE movies provide some much needed "turn brain off" time that I do personally enjoy, I cant help but imagine a world where the P. W.S. Anderson RE movies never existed, and instead we got the George A. Romero version... Mortal Kombat will forever hold against the test of time as one of the better videogame adaptations and especially for the cinematography, those RE movies on the other hand; well, a man can dream, a man can dream.

    Whatever you think of Anderson's movies you have to admit that guy knows how to go big with a small budget, I'm a huge fan of B movies, especially the mountain of zombie films in the early 2000's, but Mortal Kombat seemed bigger than it actually was especially only having a 20 million dollar budget thats like 16 million pounds, in Hollywood thats pocket change, watch the movie knowing that, it's a pretty incredible achievement especially for the 90's.

    Of course, I think that the movie took a rather free hand with the original MK story, retelling some things in a non-canonical way, but at the same time it was filmed amazingly, in terms of staging fights, in terms of graphics, in terms of the cast, some things were not ideal, of course not, but for its time it was a great movie with an amazing soundtrack and I just remind you that no one has managed to surpass it yet, neither TV series, nor reboots, nor sequels, nor animated series. It still remains as cool as before. The movie has stood the test of time, especially if there is some allowance for the slightly outdated computer effects.

    Great video and thankyou for correctly pointing out that the late great Trevor Goddard was indeed doing a cockney British accent, not Australian!. But it has now become Trevor's legend that because people took his accent for Australian, the character was retconned to Australian in the games and then the more recent movie. Some say Trevor never got his big Hollywood break and I'm inclined to agree, but he gave us the absolute definite version of Kano that can never be matched, RIP Trevor x.

    I feel sorry for anyone that wasn't able to see this back in the mid 90's , my most watched film as a 9 year old back in 95-96 & Aliens which was my second favorite film that i watched at that age & all my friends & neighborhood too , i literally stole the VSH copy from the video store when it first came out cuz my parents were too damn poor to pay for new releases at the time but this is by far the most watched action movie of that type period by far & the only thing i don't regret stealing as a kid❤
    This film is a 90's action masterpiece & the best best in my opinion after Speed (1994) ofcorse!!!! Even the Matrix when i saw it in theaters when it came out didn't feel as good watching this masterpiece when it came out ❤
    The CGI is obviously dated but still fits good in this film regardless even today , i love it because of how iconic & nostalgic it still is !!!!! By far in my top 5 most watched films of the entire 90's as a kid!!!! The actors were perfect , the marital arts are 100% on point according to my friend that is a legit 9th degree black belt hence why the fight scenes aren't too overwhelming because they are actually realistic & the cinematography & costumes & music are literally muah 😘🤌

    Sonya is Tennis legend Pete Sampras' wife. It was either this movie or Billy Madison (i honestly forgot which) where Pete said he watched it then told his publicist that he wanted to meet her in some interview.

    Mk 1995 is still the best live adaptation video game movie as far as I'm concerned to this day. 😎👍🏼 Raiden was never asian in the games until the new timeline (MK1) btw in which he's not even a God in the current universe and honestly shouldn't matter since he's a God he can take any form he wants.

    It was more successful than the other films at that time because it had a wider audience. It was the only IP that appealed to mature audiences because the game itself did. If Mario Bros leaned more into the IP rather than making up bs, then I believe it would have been almost as successful.

    great video, not related to the content, but seems like you were having some sort of sound/mic issues towards the end, some high pitched sounds, feedback perhaps, got pretty annoying to listen to. just fyi, looking forward to the next videos.

    They left out the part when talking about the casting of Johnny Cage, The late Brandon Lee was already in mind during the creating of the script and was going to be offered the role. Of course the unfortunate part due to a freak accident on the set of making the film "The Crow" he passed away and never got that chance. RIP Brandon.🙏

    Well, given what you have shared, I will stop being annoyed at a British actor being cast as an Australian in this movie (as that really grinds my gears in other movies and media). However your series has been really interesting, and looking forward to part 3.
