I have remade this video to try to help clear up some questions I've been getting/ make it easier for people to get their physics extension to work! This new video does not cover the downloading process but everything else is up to date and better! Link below: ua-cam.com/video/zEwaFlMPP08/v-deo.html
I just want to say, your one advice of selecting just a portion of time instead of the entire timeline is what finally fixed sfmphys for me, thank you so goddamn much! :)
Note: Once again sorry for the low audio, I did not realize just how low it was. I recently changed a setting in OBS and I think I'm gonna have to revert it!
No worries! To select a portion of time you just need to select the motion editor found in the bottom left, hold left shift, and drag the portion you want to select. I'm making a video that goes a little bit more in depth of how to do everything to help out!
@NotMVZZL3 I am assuming it is a download error so lets start simple, make sure everything was installed correctly. Only make sure that you dragged the top 3 files (platform, sdktools, and usermod) when moving smfphys to your sfm game folder. Just to be 100% certain I would recommend just reinstalling the physics addon. Also make sure that it is the correct game folder, if you ever moved sfm from one drive to another it could just be in the wrong one. Lastly verify game files to make sure there aren't any missing files or something. The only other way I can get the problem to show up so far is some modded or workshop models work while others don't. The rigidbodies will show up but it appears greyed out and run_smfphys_simulation doesn't work. To be 100% sure, I would recommend using the tf_movies player\hwm\scout.mdl just in case it is a model error with the one you are using. If you are already using the hwm model then let me know. And if there are more details you have then let me know so I can try to get a better picture.
The version I downloaded was fine, but that was about... 2-3 months ago? I'm currently out of town for the Holiday, but I will check it out as soon as possible for you! I estimate later today or so I should be able to take a look.
@@thezammanme I finally got back; the most recent update (from what I linked) was 7 years ago so I can say it isn't a virus! Just follow the download steps in my video and make sure you download the same one just to be sure!
@SaurianAnimates65 I'm terribly sorry for the late response, I didn't get the notification. I've noticed that Sfmphys has issues with workshop or user made models a bit more often. It usually has to do with inconsistent model bones but in can range it functionality or lack there of. I don't know if there are any quick physic alternatives, aside from if the custom model already has physics built into it. Just to be sure, I will download the model and test it out tomorrow. Back soon with more details.
@@baronvonpickles Thanks a lot, and I didn't mind the super late response. You obviously have a lot of stuff to do outside of youtube and social media in general.
@@baronvonpickles Oh and just to add it's the allosaurus that is brown with a bit of blackish stripes on it. Hopefully that helps in finding the actual model.

@Blitz59299 I haven't had any problems with it. Windows may try to block it from opening, but that usually happens with files downloaded from places like Github. It's a safety thing. Anyways, the one that I linked is the specific version I was using at the time, and I'm still currently using.

underrated asf, please do NOT make the audio mistake again lmfao
It's been fixed I assure you 😅
The push to talk was interfering with the sfm, and now I can avoid it happening again!
I tried to make it appear when i add the simulation but it doesnt

For some odd reason, when I change the rig to "rig_physics" the rigidbodies don't show up.

For some reason "run_sfmphys_simulation" doesn't work. Could you explain why it doesn't work?
Did you make sure that you do not have all of time selected when running the symphys rig?
This is one of the most important steps and most overlooked.
