I have used both brands, and various models of each in a business setting and I have given up on Tineco in favor of Dyson for a few reasons. The main reason is the filters. The Tineco requires constant maintenance of the canister motor. It gets clogged very fast and it has a significant impact on performance even when mildly soiled. The "filter cleaner" seems like a cool feature, until it becomes apparent that it's necessary to use it every few uses of the machine. Unfortunately, a lot of particulate from both the air and the motor ends up at the exhaust filter, and it gets soiled very quickly. This is added cost, annoyance, and is a time suck.
@@vacuumnerds Thank for the great review sir! You can get for pretty much the same price as the S11 the S12 which would give a much better competition to the V11. The Christmas sale makes the S12 just 37$ more then the S11.
I'm in the same boat, I've got an older V8 and the s11. I find my self going to the Dyson for carpets as it's more flexible head goes under furniture way better and stiffer bristles are way better at dislodging pet hair. The S11 I use on my tiles as the softer bristles are better at making sure debris doesn't get launched out of the vacuum but actually swept into it. The canister and filters are way better on the Dyson vs the tineco as well.
I had an older smaller Dyson and it did very well. Just bought a Tineco and it has superior capabilities compared to the older smaller Dyson. The maneuverability of the head on the Dyson is vastly superior. Otherwise, the Tineco is quieter, and faster, with a filter cleaner, a powered 6-inch couch head, and a separate full-size head for wood floor and tile floors. Not covered in your review is that my Tineco Model (at least at Costco) has an extra wood floor head, which is smooth and with an ½ inch open front that allows it to pick up Cheerios, larger trash, etc. It works as well as the Dyson. You do have to switch heads, but that is easy. It cost $200 to the Dyson's $500. I have not used it much so have not experienced the filter clog issue described below, but they did include a free pre-filter, which should help. Overall, you can't beat a Dyson only because of how well the head maneuvers. But not $2-300 worth! And Tineco is well-made and uses good materials close to like Dyson.
If you have dyson youve been using for a while, would you be able to discuss how soiled, if at all, the dysons cyclones get after a year or a few of use? And i guess what it would look like to have those cleaned/serviced. Its annoying the cyclones dont pop open for easy cleaning, and makes it seem like dyson doesnt want people fixing their vacs... But itd be nice to know how much of a problem the cyclones are in bagless tech.
I have three Dysons. v10, v11 and v15. I haven't had any of them fail yet. The v10 has the most use, and the v15 is about a year old. However, as I'm testing so many vacuums all the time, I don't put as many hours on my Dysons as most people, so it's hard for me to comment on long term reliability. You might check Reddit?
I don't have a Tineco but all these years of watching videos of this brand, you need to be aware of its filtration technology. While this filtration technique is commendable for less noise, it clogs easily and the main cause of poor suction and weak battery life in reviews despite being as powerful and battery as the Dyson. The Dyson is exactly at the opposite end of this with little need to maintain filter, the post motor filter, which I think needs to be washed every quarter or every six months. The Dyson though has a loud and annoying brushless motor whine which they finally fixed through the Gen5detect.
I want cordless for my apartment for dust, dirt and mess + food bc I have 3 kids. One rug only. Which one is the best for me? Need something effective that sucks well.
Please make a video about mopping. Compare the Tineco S5 to the steam mop and any other vacuums that might be better. I'm wondering now if I need to buy both (Dyson as a vacuum and Tineco for mopping) or if the Tineco S5 Pro does it all... and I'm a catS owner, so yeah, I'm looking forward to your honest opinion.
I have a Tineco S11 for almost a year now. It meets my needs quite well. However, since the green laser entered my awareness, i really want it. Is it worth upgrading, $560 for a V15 through Costco?
@vacuumnerds Which would you recommend for an apartment with hardwood floor only and pet hair lying around? I desperately want to invest in a cordless vacuum cleaner but can't afford to pay 1000 dollars for one as I am a student.

Yup I dad the same experience with the A11. Constantly cleaning the filters. Going back to Dyson.

@sylvainh2o the maintenance and convenience on the Dyson, not to mention the performance , is far superior which adds to its cost

Appreciate your input! I think it's best to wash the filter every 30-60 days actually to maintain performance and longevity.
@@vacuumnerds right! thanks!
Glad they fixed the whine. It kept me away from the Dyson. I really liked it otherwise. It was returned because the pitch was horrible.
All the Tineco needs to match the Dyson in picking larger pieces of trash is to put in the two little doors that the Dyson has.
0:51 Ferocious kitty! (And, going to buy this Tineco, which I had never heard of before, looks great for less moola!)
It’s now around $299 so it’s really a great vacuum for the price. He’s such a ferocious little beast!
Already bought my vacuum thanks to you guys but I still watch your videos, love your channel. Keep it up, nerds
You rock! Thank you for the support!
I understand the Tineco couldn't pick up big pieces but isn't that what the detachable head is for ?
Yes you can definitely use that

@vacuumnerds Dyson it is, then. 🙃 ThnX.
What cordless vacuum without a beater bar would you recommend? For Area rugs. Thanks
I got the Tineco A11 and it does terrible on carpets. Fine on hardwood. Still have to use my Shark corded vac.
Are you using it on high? Mine works great on carpet.

$560 isn't bad for the V15. I love the laser because I have an insane amount of pet hair, but it's really up to you if you want to spend the money.
Thank you for the reply! Would it be worth waiting a year for the Gen5 to come down in price, for the brighter laser and push button power?
Great video
What's your take on the tineco S12 pro vs S15 vs S11?
I wish the model had a better differentiate factor. Or clear key points.
The S15 is a better vacuum overall because it has a brush roll for hard floors. It’s on sale this week amzn.to/3G8c3WH

Same situation here, have you bought any since then?
Why nobody is doing reviews and comparisons on Dyson and Karcher or Karcher and other brands?
They don’t sell well in the US. Reviews tend to focus more on popular vacuums
