- Опубліковано 2 жов 2024
- In todays video I review my running watch of choice for the past 3 months, the COROS Pace 3. I've been toughly impressed with the functionality and user experience of this Gps running watch and would go as far as to say its the best value for money out there. Ben, thanks for the fantastic review! Since it's my very first running watch, I'm very pleased with the Coros Pace 3, which I received just recently for Christmas.
My biggest issue with the Watch was the screen was poor. I’m not sure if it’s font used or just poor quality screen but fonts were too small, you can see pixels, fonts aren’t smooth they’re jagged. Screen is also very dark. Even the lowest of the range Garmin the FR55 doesn’t have these issues
Idem pour moi, j'ai la Coros Apex 2 pro, quelque soit la version, l'écran est très sombre quelque soit la luminosité ambiante. Du coup, je quitte Coros car j'ai constaté des différences avec mon ancienne Garmin 945
Hi Ben, Thanks for the vlog and the review.
One of the best reasons to get this is the price, for the functionality it's an amazing watch and buy.
I'm really enjoying you vlogmas uploads, thank you so much for taking the time to put them together.
Appreciate your feedback Robert, glad you’ve been enjoying them
Are you the guy from Napoleon Dynamite?
I ran with Viktor Smangs last sunday he told me you and him was running together back in the day. Best regards from Stockholm
Ah yes! Victor is a good friend of mine! Also a Coros treadmill fanatic 😂
Thanks for explaining the indoor/ treadmill… I was so confused using it yesterday… i think I have an understanding of how to use it..😂
So simple! People always baffled by my treadmill run splits on strava 😂
I went on a bit of a mission the past few months to find the watch that suited me best.
I am a beginner runner training for a marathon and have been running for about 6 months.
I tried
Polar pacer
Garmin FR255
Polar Vantage V3
Coros Pace 3
Coros hands down winner for me!
Garmin a close 2nd but the whole FR range just seems very overpriced compared to Coros.
Polar was good but had huge issues with vantage v3 dying and being very buggy overall which was disappointing for the price. The pacer was very good also but for an extra £50-60 the pace 3 is incredible!
The app and training stats are fantastic and the recent addition of HRV and personalised marathon plans are amazing
Great video btw! Really enjoyed it
The training insights and ease of use definitely make Coros a favourite for me. Have also tested both polar and Garmin watches- came to the same conclusions as yourself 🙌🏻
@@BenIsRunning thanks for the reply Ben 😃 love the videos. Have a great Christmas
I've heard that the live pace given to you during your run can be laggy by up to 20 seconds? Is this true, and does it bother anyone?
Does it communicate and transfer your activity/data to Strava?
Can you connect a chest strap monitor to the Coros? I've got a Garmin HRM Pro that I currently use.
Hi Ben since viewing this vlog I have had a serious look at this watch given the functionality and price!
However I have heard both from runners & seen on other UA-cam sites that there can be up to a 20-25 second lag when you are using pace as your main metric while running, and I was wondering if you have you ever experienced this. As I run using mainly HR & even when I do use pace as my main training metric I'm that slow it wouldn't bother me but I can see how a it would bother a runner doing split training or wants to hit accurate times during their training.
Keep up the great work you have a fantastic channel.
Should I get this or garmin forerunner 265?
fr
the charger comment is so on point. i bought a second charger to try and help with this issue 😂
Thanks for the review. I use the pace 3 for a few weeks, and ik like it. But one thing is not right. Coros give me a vo2 max way to low (48). Polar and Garmin give my vo2 max 54. Somebody have the same problem? (sorry for my english, (from the netherlands )
I guess it’s just based on an algorithm so only way to know for sure is to do a lab test :)
I doubt Coros or any wrist tracker can accurately measure treadmill paces. Stryd would be a better tracking device. At least for me it's spot on with the pace the treadmill is set at.
We always recommend using a COROS POD 2 in conjunction with your wearable when on the treadmill for greater accuracy in both pace, pace changes and additional metrics like Cadence for example. Hope this helps
@@DGCOROS I guess you represent Coros. Do you have any side-by-side comparison with Stryd? Would be curious if you hit the same accuracy as they do given the lower price tag.
Tempted to swap to Coros after this 👀
I had no idea Coros had the Coros Training Hub, thanks for show us that Ben :)
It’s great! So much data 📊
Which heart rate monitor is it??
Coros arm based HR monitor, linked in the video description
One thing l don't understand is how my Traing Status can be 'Optimized" whilst at the same time my Recovery status is "Exhausted" and Recovery time is several days.
Exhausted is about your recovery status. It just means your body is tired and you need some time to recover from training. Optimized means that your training is effective compaired to your last 7 and 42 days of training. Hope this helps.
The treadmill mode on Coros is a great idea, but only being able to select speeds in increments of 0.5 mph isn’t nearly precise enough. Give us 0.1 and I’ll be over the moon!!
Totally agree!
@@BenIsRunning @SimoFromOhio Thanks for this feedback! We have documented it to be shared with our team :)
I agree...and if they could make the font bigger it would be much easier to see the correct selection while still running
My Garmin Forerunner deleted my entire half marathon before uploading it. I immediately bought a Coros Pace 3. So amazing. Way better in my opinion. Cheaper too I'm pretty sure. I'm never going back to garmin.
I'd bet on that being a user error that you're unwilling to admit 😂. Forerunners don't just delete workouts without user input.
I've been using Garmin watches since the Forerunner 210 over a decade ago, and I've never experienced any problems with it losing an activity. Not saying that this didn't really happen to you, but it definitely isn't something that happens often.
Is smell 💩
@@MrAsthenia same here. Been using garmins since the 305 in 2007. Have had about 10 garmins since. So reliable. This guy pressed the delete button by accident and threw all his toys out of the pram. His name is also Mr. Coros Affiliation.
@@Cloud007. Haha, no definitely not user error. I've been using them since 2011. Never happened before. I also work in a field where I know how to forensically analyze the device too, and could not recover the data.
You haven't mentioned the pace lag alot of UA-camrs have mentioned it and with my pace 3 the lag is atleast 20 seconds behind
Helló Ben, I watched a test with 3 and guy said, that most of runners watch pace lug is about 10 seconds, meanwhile Coros Pace 3 pace lug is 20 seconds. What is your opinion?
Im a pace 2 user and was debating upgrading to pace 3 as the multiple sensors on the pace 3 are much more accurate
I decided to not upgrade but did add the hear rate arm band. Its been fabulous and im very pleased.
Me too. Some reviewers comparing them and have same result
The arm based hr monitor is definitely the way forward for those interested in accurate hr data
Hi. Do you think that the GPS is accurate. I wear a Garmin Forunner 55 and I find the accuracy of the GPS very poor. Thanks
Hi Ben would you recommend this over a garmin watch price disregarded?
I won’t be going back anytime soon that’s for sure!
Just got a choros pace 2 for $100 bucks on eBay. Lets see how it is.
Do you know if there's a way to see info on your activities such as lets say i do 50 secs workout, 11 rest, 74 seconds workout, 29 rest, etc.. that i could see how long the workout/rest times were? I thought i was recording that on the watch pressing the button as I went from on to rest back to on then back to rest but when looking at the data i couldn't see anything on that i think just a bulk on and bulk rest.
Also is there a way to setup activities to start automatically at a specific time and I can do because like today I forgot to add in my workout and the watch just thought I was super stressed out lmao where last time it said i did like 340 calories this time it was only like 20 calories.
But that's cool you tell it your speeds but that's probably only useful for a static thing like a treadmill the indoor bikes wouldn't be too accurate but i was kind of hoping there was a way to link it to the bikes, but i think they use that ANT+ stuff.
Did Coros pay you for this video?
This isn’t a paid promotion no however, since using the watches for 3 years, I am now a brand ambassador. Have used both polar and Garmin in the past but not got on with them as well as I have with Coros :)
Nice to see Coros reps in the comments too answering questions and taking on feedback
@@BenIsRunning that explains why the review lacked any genuine criticism. your dislike of "the battery life is too good" was eyeroll worthy. don't you have to disclose your affiliation with brands when you review their products? what a waste of time
@@BenIsRunning www.gov.uk/government/publications/social-media-endorsements-guide-for-influencers/social-media-endorsements-being-transparent-with-your-followers I think you need to disclose, even if you're only a Brand Ambassador
I need to move away from my Apple watch. But it’s just so easy to sync everything, and I have Apple Music and Spotify which is so easy to use as I run..
Hello . Need help . How to enable seconds running always in coros pace 3. Need tutorial sir . Thanks
Great Video Ben, great vlogmas content!
Thank you!
Blames the watch for his own poor memory. Lol
The scrolling button is what sets this apart from garmins. So easy to operate while working out
I've been waiting for this one. Cheers!
Welcome :)
Thanks for the review! It's cool that the watch will keep track of overall training volume, but what I actually want tracked is my weekly running volume, because I'm managing a running injury. I need a watch that will make it easy for me to see if I'm running too much. Will this watch do that? Thanks!
##MexicanGreetings! Awesome review! Do I have to use the watch 24/7 to get the most out of the training hub?
Kiprun GPS 900 vs Coros Pace 3?
10th like. Been debating grabbing the Coros Pace 3 and the Pod 2.
thanks ben for the review
I stuck between Coros pace 3 and t-rex 2 and I don't know which of them show me the exact pace
How do you set up the sleep?? I’ve had the watch for 2 weeks and I can’t seem to figure it out!
just want to know, Is it you shirt is a new actibreeze from asics or it's another type?
Great video 💪
Thanks mikey
Can you track the treadmill incline?
Yes in a new software update, you can choose a slope/grade for your treadmill workouts to track elevation gain!
That's a great upgrade
🎉🎉🎉
When wearing the Coros HR monitor does this link to your watch and show your HR on the screen ?
Yes it does
It can connect to up to three separate devices, so if you're doing a treadmill run you can connect it to both your watch and the treadmill via Bluetooth.
how can you use that watch upside down? (im right handed)
You can chose in the settings which wrist you want to wear it and the orientation flips
I have the coros pace 2 and ever since the pace 3 came out the gps has never worked correctly some examples are running a Parkrun and it measuring 3.5km this obviously ruins every other stat on the watch making it useless over then the stopwatch function anyone got any idea why this may have happened or is it coros being like apple and just trying to get me to buy the new pace 3 instead
My partner now uses my pace 2 and hasn’t had any issues. Doubt it’s a planned obsolescence thing because Coros continue to offer software updates for the older models such as the pace 2. Maybe worth contacting Coros customer services, may be a faulty unit?
Can the pace 3 do audio pace alerts? like announce your average pace/hr at the end of each km split?
I don't think so...but who knows in the future as they're constantly upgrading software
Yes
Best review!!!!🎉
still got nothing on a garmin. garmin #1 (coros has just copied garmin)
Wdym copied
Maybe but I'm not sure what copying has got to do with it.
There'd be not iPhones without copying, buying and straight out using other companies ideas.
Everyone says how good the battery life is, but I seem to be charging my coros pace 3 every 2days. Are there some battery saving features I need to be using?
It sounds like you need to do a battery calibration. There is information about this on the Coros site.
Can't wait for mine to arrive😭😭😭
Is there any features you wish it had ? That Garmin of other brands may have ?
Maybe Heart rate variability but I believe that’s coming in a future update
Whould U recommend the nylon band or the silicone?
Silicone unless you are allergic to it
Returned the pace 3 after 5 days. Data was too too inaccurate for me. Loved the interface though
What data are you referring to? I found that for data such as training zones, race predictor and trainload load you have to use the watch for 3-4 weeks before it gathers enough data about the user. This may have been why?
@@BenIsRunning the immediate data. When doing short intervals the lag is horrible. Also the heart rate data was very off (including non-activity).
I believe Coros recommend combining with a pod 2 for instant pace but if you select lap time during intervals it works great
Hi Ben 🇲🇦انا من المغرب
Hi!
The heart rate sensor improvement doesn’t really make that much sense considering arm and chest straps are basically the standard.
Fair point, the new wrist based hr is much more accurate though for those just wanting a one accessory does all
Elevation gain and pace all over the gaf with Pace 3 🤦🏿♀️
Nothings better than a Garmin🤷🏻
But have you tried a pace 3 👀
Not from a price point
@@BenIsRunningno but have you tried the Epix2?
@@Gillibrand65 The Epix 2 is 2.5 times the price of the Pace 3. It's certainly much better in itself, but maybe not when you compare the value for the money. Which most people do. And you too, I guess, otherwise you would have a Garmin MARQ Athlete 2 Carbon Edition (5 times the price of the Epix 2).
@@Gillibrand65 That's like comparing a Ferrari with a VW... yeah, if you are Ronaldo it makes sense to go and buy a Ferrari, which is probably better than a VW, but for avg people a VW may be a great car without the need to spend a shitton of money for a good performance.

🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
5th like …. Yeah
What an achievement 🙌🏻
Hey Ben, thanks for the review! I'm going to give it a try and see how it compares to my Garmin.
On another note, how do you set up your treadmill for indoor runs? I find myself faffing around way too long at the gym and often end up doing just basic slow runs as I can't be bothered arranging the settings to do what I want!
Wish Coros made a slightly larger version of this, 47-49 mm would be great and a bigger screen.
Hi Ben. Can I ask, have you used the Coros HR monitor with a Garmin yet? Thanks
Hi , I use the COROS hr monitor with my garmin , but am now switching to COROS pace 3 watch
The apple watch is just better at so much of this stuff. The pace updates more frequently, the track mode doesnt require a pre run and is more accurate, the heart rate monitor has been proven to be more accurate. The only reason to get these sport watches is battery life, which is a good reason. If you do ultra marathon level runs or just hate charging something daily, then i get getting a sports watch. But to be clear, good battery life on a watch that does only what these do, is not special, its just do less get more battery life methodology. Which is fine, but its not apple.
