Hi! Just found your post! Adorable baby! Might not have to many words right now - but she certainly has a voice! Lol!😂 A Tip f anyone travelling with young baby /toddler. Many, many years ago we could only experence a vacation by being loaned a company van n essentually camping ...... the mechanic/ engineer (Son of Boss!) welded a ring bracket near corner roof above rear door. He then made a steal bar ( scaffold pole) that had a 90° bend...with the shorter part just long enough t fit into ring- bracket protruding just long enough to allow a fixing pin through holes drilled f purpose. We could either remove pin n lift out the bar or swing it across( above the doors n clip in place.) He welded two D rings t lower edge of the horizontal part of pole....to which we could clip a " bouncy swing" ( kind that meant f internal door frames) or a baby hammock n have the bar swung out n secured... so that infant could have a blast, without crashing into van! n gave us some " hands free" moments....usually 10/15 minutes a time! Or be rocked to sleep! The next year we clipped a baby swing seat....n the last time we used it had a soft strong knotted rope....with biggest knot n 'circle seat' so they could play independantly with it....( piece of chain from under seat n pegged t ground just long enough t allow some movement but not enough t bang into van)so long as not over used and always supervised it was a bonus to have. He even bolted some small " climbing hand/ foothold things t outside of van f them t learn/ practice climbing! Many collegues also loaned the van n had a great time....the guy was an amazing, creative engineer who invented all kinds of things! It would be good t know what,if any, adjustments, fittings you have specifically related t the child... This was pre- internet/ apps days when map reading skills were a given! But sometimes we literaly would just head out...n decide on a vague direction...n play a game where we took turns t callout a number (1to5)and left/right would count each junction n would just follow that road! We found some great and not so great places ....but also met some lovely people! Your reaction to the Castle was interesting! Hope to enjoy some more of your posts!
I have spent so many wasted hours (literally and figuratively) watching random videos on UA-cam. But I am so happy to stumble across this channel. It warms my heart and gives me motivation
Hi folks. If you really get stuck for an overnight campsite. Try driving up to any farmhouse and just ask if there is anywhere you can park up for the night. You might be surprised how friendly most farmers are and how accommodating they can be. Sometimes buying some eggs or other produce goes a long way. I've known of some farmers allow some overnight tents in certain areas, as long as you follow the country code, are respectful of property, leave no mess, what's the worse that can happen. 😊
That was so cool, what a great start to your UK trip. I live in Northeast England and it has so many hidden gems around County Durham and Northumberland. It's a shame you didn't have time to visit Durham Cathedral as it's truly breathtaking.
I'm so glad YT actually came up with an awesome recommendation for a change, I stumbled across your channel a little over an hour ago and I can't get enough of it. My wife and I have a campervan and we absolutely love it for those weekend getaways but to see yourselves experiencing first time van life here but also an authentic UK experience is so refreshing to see... your energy is amazing! Everly is totally adorable, we love her! Thank you, I've got alot of videos to catch up with ✌️
I was just thinking that you guys seemed to have been eating a lot of pastry! It’s good on-the-go food! 5:19 Northumberland is a beautiful spot - it’s good for the soul.
Only found this for the first time this morning but probably the most wholesome enjoyable thing I’ve ever watched. Seeing you enjoy life and the positive vibes inadvertently made me feel so happy inside. Never wanted to live in a van but I am very jealous of how amazing the experience you seem to be having. Good luck guys and welcome to the UK 🫶🫶🫶
the accents in the UK change a lot i mean from city to city even 10miles can make a difference and glad to hear your visiting my part of the uk wales the scenery here changes a lot and fast and we got most castles per square mile in Europe
Glad to see the weather didn't get you down too much. This year was one of the wettest years ever recorded in the UK lol, so you really experienced something quite unusual there! England generally isn't as rainy as the stereotypes say...but this year, it was even moreso.
New subscriber from Warwickshire England (not far from where you were in Stratford upon Avon), I love that you are getting to see the real UK, not just the typical tourist traps!
Im a new subscriber. Im from Blackpool, Lancashire. Im loving your content. I've binged a lot of it. Anyhoo, i just wanted to say that i think you are honestly one of my favourite families online. You're funny and quirky, and you are the type of people i would love to have as friends. Your travelling friends are so lovely too 🧡
Well now you’re in my home country and I’m from the North. Nothing like the sea fronts and Castles . Bamburgh Castle is one of the most important Anglo-Saxon archaeological sites in the world. The museum houses a collection of extraordinary finds including the intricate, gold Bamburgh Beast and a rare pattern welded sword, reinforcing Bamburgh's importance as an Anglo-Saxon citadel. Love your videos ❤❤enjoy my UK and Scotland. Pick up a tartan or two. 😊😊
As a family, we have done many holidays throughout the years wilding and my son and his wife who live wilding and have done for a decade maybe! I just want you to know that we do not pay for overnight parking. We mostly use large lay-bys off of the beaten track and yes we do access the apps and another trick is to use the heritage sites. As long as you belong to the English heritage site which is £42 a year, you mostly can arrange a trip to the castle/estate/etc for the following day and have permission to stay over night. So if you arrive on a Monday you can stay overnight (mostly) and then go the event on the Tuesday. You can also leave van in the car park and go and check out the town. Just be back before car park closing for that night. If you belong to English heritage you can literally travel the entire country going from one event to the next obviously taking in many other areas on route xxx
Hi! you Vanatics. It's great to see the enjoyment you have in travelling round the UK. I trust that you will all continue to find delight in everything, and economical things to brighten your trip. Wagons Roll!
Just found your channel from your first impressions of England going to blists and truthfully.. you guys seem like a very wholesome and uplifting family. Gave off that warm family vibe that people love to see.. as a Englishman, I and many others truly hope you all enjoy it here. There is so so much more culture here than you guys are taught... shall be subscribing
Great vid FNA!! There's truly nothing like the English countryside...that castle was incredible!! How fun! And Everly seems to be enjoying herself immensely. She's quite the little traveler 🩷 xoxo
Bamburgh Castle is featured in the Netflix TV series *The Last Kingdom* in which it is the ancestral home of Uhtred of Bebbanburg. It's a great series, highly recommend it.
You are literally living my dream! I am a 62 year old woman who RVs and car camps when life allows and my dream is to spend as long as I can traveling the UK in a van. I have so many places I want to visit and am just waiting for the time I can make this a reality. Until then, I'll follow your adventure! New subscriber!
Just discovered your channel, so nice to see you guys come to the North. I’m from Northumberland myself. I recently just got back from the US myself visiting my friend from Maryland. Heading back over to see him in LA next year, cannot wait
Triangle baps! lol Where I’m from (north Essex) they are from a small small region around around the Dunmow area and are called Huffers, lots of bakeries, pubs etc specialise in them.
I live in Kent and am around 30 minutes from what I think is the biggest castle in England DOVER ( famously used in ww2 for defence ) and 5 more ancient castles within 30 minutes- 5 minutes away is a 3rd century Roman fort ( just been opened for the public for the 1st time in decades) and 10 minutes from Canterbury cathedral ( almost most iconic in U.K. and huge ) and guess what ? Yeh lowest rainfall in the U.K. 😂😂😂 p.s. to avoid rain never turn north .
Wow, watching this series is like extending our trip vicariously through you five! Loved the accent changes as we drove around as well, it's really fascinating how localized they are. Also agree about the delicious British food! Maybe the rumor is self-propagated so they don't have to share. 🤔🤔😁
Great video and it's nice to see you not letting the wet weather get you down. Live here in the UK a lot longer and you'll take it in your stride. As an aside, around the 24 minute mark, I think you meant 1400 years of history, and not 14,000. 🤪
I just drive somewhere nice and park up for the night, you dont really need to book places, youre not going to be hassled. But i get wanting to do it right if youre just visitng.
Go stop by lake coniston in the lake district. May place to park on the bank of the lake iv spent many nights up there camping and fishing and is truly most beautiful spot in uk
Awesome video guys. I just love the different accents. Trying to figure out what the heck they are saying is quite a challenge. Liverpool was the most challenging for me, Lisa. lol Those dang SCOUSERS. 🥰 BIG HUGS TO EVERLY.
Im so glad you enjoy the uk , love to see such a great family and good friends , and your lovely baby is so beautiful i hope you have a great time in the UK 🇬🇧 SO nice to see the love you all have for each other family and friends is wot its all about ❤❤❤
Hi you three. I see in the video the Kalpies. It's somewhere I'd love to visit they look amazing, but I guess I'm just going to wait to see them when you visit. I'm so pleased you're enjoying the UK tour, are you coming down south? Big hugs to you all, Hugs Wiltshire
You think van life in the UK is expensive, try living here!! Love watching your adventures though, van life is something I've always wanted to do. You find accents can change every few miles in certain parts of the UK!
Bamburgh Castle sits partly within a designated Natural England Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI for its unique natural habitat.) It is illegal to fly a drone over the Bamburgh SSSI without prior permission from Natural England and Bamburgh Castle Estate as the landowner. This is to avoid disturbance to wildlife that shelters, feeds and breeds in this unique landscape. Most of the land in the town/beach is owned by the castle you therefore need permission from the land owner to take off.
Good thing we didn't fly a drone here. We pay for some drone related clips. In order for those people to sell those clips they need to have the proper permissions. Also in a lot of the apps now you would need to input those permissions in order to fly.
Lovely to watch your reactions ... sadly height restrictions, closures and fees are now put on Campsites and lay-over spots due to their abuse by the " Traveller " community, who often bring crime to the places they stay, and leave the spots full of litter and human waste. In the UK, it can cost many thousands of pounds in legal fees and take weeks to evict these people ...
My understanding is that so called "wild camping" is not strictly legal in England and Wales but it is in Scotland. In the former there has been a persistent issue with Travellers, rocking up on land and some elements causing anti-social behaviour / crime in the local community and then moving on (or being forced to move on) leaving a mess behind. Therefore the govt has created restrictions on where you can park which also impacts leisure travellers. I was speaking to some locals in a scenic area and they said that the reason for the height restrictions on car parks of late is to do with the popularity of "van-life" and some van-lifers not respecting the local area and so to deter them, height restrictions have been introduced.
Right to roam in Scotland includes the right to camp in a tent, without the landowner's permission, not in a campervan though. The more limited right to roam in England doesn't include wild camping.
Wish I'd known you were in newbiggin, I would have popped along, only live 10 mins away. Not the best weather sadly but hope you enjoyed it regardless 😊
To Americans coming to the UK. Having a holiday in the UK is expensive. Everything costs. That's why we go abroad. You can find cheap spots, but you need a native guide.
If I were you I would stay one night in a bed and breakfast ask to use their address to join the National Trust. That gives free access to 500 beautiful interesting properties including castles lighthouses stately homes working water mills landscape gardens. That includes trails free parking on National Trust properties etc. You would only need a couples ticket. The booklet would allow you to plot a trip around the Uk. The booklet lists opening times facilities such as tea rooms free guided tours etc
@FnAVanLife when our son was small we could not afford holidays. He grew up having all these stories at school about what he did in the holidays. In the summer many of the stately homes have events like balloon ascension, steam engine rallies. Teddy bears picnics, adventure trails, live music. If you went at night there were concerts you still had to pay for. We never did. We lived near the world herritage site of FOUNTAINS ABBEY STUDLEY PARK ROYAL WATER GARDENS AND DEER PARK. WE would picnic explore the water gardens and make our way back to the Abbey. You didn't need to pay for a seat inside. The music reverberated around the cloisters and we would be sitting on the grass with other families outside listening to the beautiful music with our son. It was so beautiful. Your child's too young to pay for, so is free. Annual joint membership at same address is £140 annual membership... So the longer you are in BRITAIN, the more places you visit the better value that works out at. Any trail marked with an acorn is also managed by the National Trust. The book will show you where to park for free for that trail.
I make triangular baps, not as big as that one though 🤣. Roll your bread dough into a circular flat shape, about 10-15mm thick, then cut into triangles then do your final prove! 👍🇬🇧
Britain can be dark all day. I have worked in the countryside most of my life. I work in health care. Some of my delightful patients are farmers. I had one patient from West Sussex who would amuse me with fantastic farmers' sayings. He would come to see me and I would ask how he was. His reply "It is four oclock all today, Simon." Meaning it is as dark as it is at four oclock, all day. Always made me smile! Miss him terribly!
Unfortunately there are people who live in caravan and vans who move onto private land or public and never leave and or cover it in trash and create lots of anti social behavior. Hence why lots of things are barricaded for cars only. And our government doesn't have any policies and procedures in places to forcibly move them so the cost falls on the council or the private landowner
24:30 - Hate to quibble, but it's 14 HUNDRED years of history, not 14 thousand. 14 thousand years would take you back to long before the Egyptian Pharaohs, and probably before the English Channel formed to separate Britain from France.
If you’re considering travelling to the UK, do not go to London Birmingham, Manchester Bradford Leicester or Nottingham there are a few other pieces you don’t want to go to but the list is too long. Just keep away from the main ones and you’ll be okay.
Ahhh so much fun - We had such a great time with you, A great video and we miss Everly and of course you guys as well LOL xxxx. Come back soon

what was the restaurant called, by the sea?
If I were you I would stay one night in a bed and breakfast ask to use their address to join the National Trust. That gives free access to 500 beautiful interesting properties including castles lighthouses stately homes working water mills landscape gardens. That includes trails free parking on National Trust properties etc. You would only need a couples ticket. The booklet would allow you to plot a trip around the Uk. The booklet lists opening times facilities such as tea rooms free guided tours etc
Wow Anita this is such a great idea!!!!! 👍 thank you so much!!!!
Gorgeous baby. And it looks like you had fun.
How could you not go into Bamburgh castle????
We're is the dog missing him he is so cute,
Bamburgh castle featured in the beginning of the latest Indiana Jones movie among others.
So cool!!! 😍 we have a lot in common with the legend then 😅
@FnAVanLife watch the movie and see the castle getting blown up
A triangular bap seems like a great idea.
What was Tread The Globe's experience with overnight camping around the world?
Americans complaining about British weather while their country is being trashed by hurricanes
And they live in Canada where I always thought the weather is similar
That's not fair, really.
They are only saying it rains a lot.
@@michaeldoolan7595Well they must of knew that before they came here so he does have a point ..
What you deem complaining is laughable.
RAIN🌨️ HAIL 🌬️OR SHINE🌞 I JUST LOVE YOUR CONTENT GUYS😋👏👏👏👌🎉 ALWAYS ENTERTAINING . P.S EVERLEIGH IN DA BOMB, SHE IS SO LIVELY 😘❤️🎉
Those snails were brought by the Romans, about 2000 years ago
That is really cool.🤯
Unfortunately there are people who live in caravan and vans who move onto private land or public and never leave and or cover it in trash and create lots of anti social behavior. Hence why lots of things are barricaded for cars only. And our government doesn't have any policies and procedures in places to forcibly move them so the cost falls on the council or the private landowner
Beautiful happy bonny baby you have ❤
The “I got a pasty” is so british
24:30 - Hate to quibble, but it's 14 HUNDRED years of history, not 14 thousand. 14 thousand years would take you back to long before the Egyptian Pharaohs, and probably before the English Channel formed to separate Britain from France.
First settlers during the ice age. About 10,000yrs ago. 😊
14,ooo years? No. You mean 1,4oo years i think.😄
If you’re considering travelling to the UK, do not go to London Birmingham, Manchester Bradford Leicester or Nottingham there are a few other pieces you don’t want to go to but the list is too long. Just keep away from the main ones and you’ll be okay.
Rule number one :
Do not go too London
Union Jack flag is upside down on your thumbnail!
.......and I thought that I was the only one to notice the distress signal!
9:59 I think you will find that it was a prison van, taking prisoners to court for trial)))))
