I get an adrenaline rush every time i hear it that tune. The vocals consist of Judy Garland and Six Hits and a Miss, and they are all impeccable! Thanks for uploading! RIP Mickey and Judy.
That was the golden era of entertainment , best singers , best actors , best musicians and best composers/lyric writers. Will never see the like again.
\fReEaNdCoMpEtItIvE\ i mean, in what way? I was pointing out the absurdity of saying that these eras had more talented people than other eras. That’s just fake news
\fReEaNdCoMpEtItIvE\ come on. Do not make get into all the fucked up shit that went on surrounding these two. Not only that, there were plenty of people pushing boundaries of what was sexually appropriate and socially appropriate. Just because you don’t see it, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Mickey; I watched a lot of your movies when I was growing up and a lot of the brothers respected your talent.. As demure as you were you are one of the giants in the field of the arts. Thank you and others of the World War II for sharing your skills and talent with us. I hope all the copies of reels can be digitized so that some one in the year 5015 will be able to pull up these old movies and receive the same feelings we felt in the 1950's and 1960's. God Bless you and the others R.I.P.
I recently found a copy of Mickey's autobio in a used bookstore, the book was published in 1965, he's gone through a lot of money, a lot of wives, and a lot of hard times, but he's still hanging in there! I love his old movies with Judy Garland (and I also love the Andy Hardy movies, with or without her). You don't find 20-year-olds in Hollywood today with as much talent as Mickey/Judy had back then!
Mickey Rooney was and is one of the most talented artists of Hollywood. He could do anything and amazingly well: acting, singing, dancing, even playing drums ... This is one of my favorite musical numbers of all times. Go great Mickey! Go dear, unforgettable Judy! You'll be in our hearts forever ...
Last year I let my nephew who was 5 at the time watch this movie and this is his favorite scene. He kept asking me to replay it. Being the grown-up, of course, I made a big deal about moving on and watching the rest of the movie, but secretly I liked watching the scene over and over again too.
Great movie one of my favorites, Mickey and Judy always played a great team together. todays actors /actresses can't even compete with yesterdays golden age stars. The golden era had character and class. Lets never forget and help keep the memories alive.

It's easy to fake it on a xylophone. Just deaden the keys and pound away. Judy and Mickey were probably the 2 most talented people in all of show business.
In 2010 I met a woman in Palm Springs who supposedly was the daughter of Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland, who had been raised by a friend / coworker of Judy.
Back on those days if that were true M.G.M. would have forced her to have an abortion. It would have been impossible to hide a pregnancy. Judy was to much in demand.
Yeah, it surely would be possible to determine if Judy took several months off in the midst of her shooting schedule at some point because, as you said, she was working non-stop then.
I’m sorry, I got away from what I should have said to what whiskey says. The start of the motion picture age brought in the golden age of movies. People say movies are better today with the advanced technology. I watched a movie today and the background music was so loud I couldn’t hear what the actors said. It was on tv which might be the problem but it seems to me that there’s days, movie producers want to have loud background music because the actors are not good. The old classic movies will always be best by those of us who remember 25 years after which is now over 50 years. Or more. I love the old gangster movies about old gangster ways. Those ways may be tame today.
Yes, he did play the instruments. It wasn't a joke because he's really talented and a great entertainer. Whatever instruments you'd give to him he could really play it.
