AMAZING!!!!!!!! everything explained in the most easiest way possible. Bought the project file, which was nice to follow along too. Next......... now i got to make something AMAZING! myself. Thanks Thanks Thanks
Yoooo thanks so much for the super kind words and THANK YOU for the support! and grabbing the project files! Much appreciated and please do tag me with whatever you make - love seeing what folks come up with!!!
Your tutorial always very clear and logical in every step, which makes it easier for me to understand and learn how to apply it to projects, thank you!!🥰
Great video! I do find there's less control than the old system, but the bar to get a good looking result is so much lower now I don't mind. Now I just want rigid bodies to be in the same system and all will be well with the universe!
Yeah I agree! Good to hear I’m not the only one thinking that about the control! Rigid body im sure is on the way - plus I want “set initial state”!!!!
EJ, your channel is a source for me, I check out your videos even the first versions and I should say you always have a solution for me as a person who started c4d with no knowledge. Thank you so much. you're great!
Hey EJ, thanks so much for your amazing tuts, your ability to teach is a gift. A bit of fuel for your ego, I completed a talent profile questionnaire where I was asked who am I inspired by, the answer: Gerd Leufert, Dieter Rams, Max Bill, Sander van Dijk and EJ Hassenfratz.
Oh wow that's an honor to be included in that list of absolute legends! It means a ton that you are inspired by me - I'll keep trying to do my best to keep you inspired! :)
Hey EJ Would love to know what kind of techniques you can use to mix soft bodies with rigid bodies in this new system. Is there a way to use the softbody tag to create a completely solid object? Would love to see rigid and softbodies being able to effect one another!
I'm having a hard time trying to make a pillow with this new settings e combos, it would be nice to have a tut for archviz ppl, I'm trying to leave marvelous with this c4d system now but I'm getting beat pretty bad.
Hello EJ, when I use a "collider slide: back" in the form of a bottle, the cloth object inside the bottle comes out. And when I use a "collider slide: front," the object inside the bottle remains inside. Does the shape of the collider affect the movement of the cloth object? :)
So you're selecting which normal face of a polygon is used as a collider so it makes sense that front/back might be flipped on your bottle as the polygon faces on the inside can be considered 'front". And absolutely the shape of the collider affects the movement.
Everything works fine until i cache my scene. Everything works also during the cache but after its done and i press play everything goes glitchy and broken.
I had an interesting problem getting a smooth result in my geometry. A subdivision surface didn't work. A Redshift tag with tessellation enabled didn't work either but a smoothing deformer did.
That also works but also depending on the model normal moves could create geometry intersections as well, volume meshed/builder/remesh allows for more control and ability to get the mesh density you want so I like having that flexibility
I think it’s settings in OBS that it’s hogging to much of my power, I got a 3090 and I also think maybe driver issues may be a culprit as well. When simulating without doing any screen capture it runs a TON better
@@eyedesyn - Oh wow, I've got a 3090 too (well two actually), and I'm recording with streamlabs obs, I'll have to do some simulation while recording tests. I'll let you know how I get on 😉
Thanks for always helping us keep our skills sharp and up to date on all of C4D's new features, EJ! Really appreciate it.
Thanks so much for the kind words and your support, Rebecca!
I remember back in 2016 burning my head trying to get at least one ugly ball interacting with things. David McLeod was a huge inspiration back then.
absolutely! haha
The mesh deformer trick saved my project, thank you!
Nice work. Great tip to lower the poly count on softbody sims.
glad that was helpful! Thanks for watching!
Great tips on the low poly cage and not using balloon (found that to be really inconsistent so far too.) Nice one EJ 🙌
Glad it was helpful!!!! I hope they fix the balloon so it's more stable! It stops me in my tracks!
Where were you??? Glad to see this notification even though I don't use C4D anymore! ❣
Oh nooooes did you go to blender??? Houdini?

Oh yes, just what I was waiting for! Exceptional as always!🙌
Yay, thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for this TUT. I was searching for softdody with newer c4d UI and this one hit! Learned a lot from this. Keep sharing.

So awesome to hear that my videos have been helpful for you! :) I really appreciate the kind comment and the support!
your soft body simulation tutorials are the best!
Awesome! Thanks EJ! Always love some squishy tutorials of your.
Thanks for watching glad you enjoyed it! 😆
@@eyedesyn I was wondering with that mesh deformer technique on hi-res mesh. How can we make like more of that set up and put it inside a box?
Thank you EJ. Love your tutorials❤
Thanks very much appreciate the kind words!
My mind blew more than once in this video. Very well done! Thank you so much :)
Happy to blow peoples minds and show them something new in C4D! :)
Amazing and well explained,
Thank you

Update to C4D 2024 and this solves this problem! 👌
This is great! Would be amazing if you did a complete guide on Simulations!
Slowly working on it hehe
This is perfect! thank you, your the best! 😁
Glad to hear you found this helpful!! Thank for watching! 🙏🙏🙏
As usual You are The Best .. Really Appreciate You
Thank you so much 😀
i want more tutorials like thissss
Nice intro you are very clear
Thanks a lot for your support and watching!!
EJ!!! You are amazinggg!
You are!!!!!
super helpful tutorial, thanks!
Glad to hear it!
LOVE THIS TUTORIAL!!!SO GREAT! THANK YOU
You are so welcome!
Thanks for the great tut EJ.
Thanks for the kind words and thanks for watching!
Thanks so much, EJ. Super fun to learn this stuff. Really clearly described. Keep 'em a coming.
Thanks Lee! Appreciate the kind words - glad you enjoyted the tutorial!
Thanks🙂 Any idea on how to loop this?
I think that functionality has yet to be added - I know the old dynamics system had options to do this type of thing!
YOUR TUTORIALS ARE AMAZING! can u do one with trying to replicate the advected growth from houdini into cinema?
Great suggestion! I'll look into it and thanks for the kind words!

I'd check out Cloth for that vs. Softbodies! My cloth sim tutorial has a technique you can use! ua-cam.com/video/jdwnfF_woFA/v-deo.html
Really nice tutorial as usual EJ!
this is helpful. I do find adding softbody to text as being real challenging though. I never get a clean buoyancy. any tips on that?
Yessss, thank you for this!
Wow Larry David thanks!
Thanks for a squishy good time!
No problem 😊 Glad you enjoyed it!

Okay cool. So question. If I want to add a texture like a fabric pattern. How can I prevent UV it. Too much tiling right now.
You are a lifesaver ❤🔥.
Happy to help!
What video should I have seen before this one one that’ll help me succeed at this tutorial with minimal frustration?
Thanks!
Wow thanks so much for the support, Wes! Really appreciate that! 🤗
@@eyedesyn Sure! The bare minimum for all of the awesome content you've put out over the years.
Everything works fine until i cache my scene. Everything works also during the cache but after its done and i press play everything goes glitchy and broken.
I am indeed sitting on one squishy ball while I watch 😂, to prevent myself crossing legs.
Hahahah so people do still sit on those squishy balls :) Does it help your posture??
@@eyedesyn it does... before I get into a new bad one 🤣
I had an interesting problem getting a smooth result in my geometry. A subdivision surface didn't work. A Redshift tag with tessellation enabled didn't work either but a smoothing deformer did.

EJ My Best Friend!
Rahma thanks for the support!
very nice teacher!
Glad you think so!!!!
Thank you EJ, love the tutorials. but I added some textures to my softbodies but whatever i try the texture slides about all over the place?
Are you using Triplanar for your redshift textures? that should solve the sliding issue!
@@eyedesyn well yes but not redshift Arnold, quite similar really. do i need to set any thing or just connect the textures thru' the triplaner node?
Great, thanks.
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
Hi! I have been struggling a bit. Whenever I hit play using soft bodies, c4d just blocks. Is there a reason why this may be happening?
might be cuz your computer doesnt have enough RAM?
@@eyedesyn I have 16 GB RAM :(
Would a good old 'normal move' not have worked to create the cage geometry @ 11:00 ?
That also works but also depending on the model normal moves could create geometry intersections as well, volume meshed/builder/remesh allows for more control and ability to get the mesh density you want so I like having that flexibility
Leaving just nice comment, thx for tut =)

Well it's not a bot atleast, that's a plus
That’s exactly what a bot would say 😆
