    Just a little advice, if you buy any overtone color, the extreme has the same pigment as the pastel version of the color but with more, I recommend just getting the extreme and diluting it with conditioner, $30 for one tub isn’t cheap so this can help.

      That did cross my mind after this was all said and done lol! I should’ve gotten one of them but I think I was scared to go too drastic bc I never do anything with my hair. But definitely a leaning experience ❤️😅

    I have natural level 9 hair. I can bleach to level 10 very quickly and with minimal damage. One of my favorite things to do is to mix the Pastel Silver with conditioner to lighten it. It makes the most gorgeous silvery white color ever.

    It looks amazing! Now is the time for you to try all different colors and have fun. When I was young we didn’t have Overtone--so if you dyed your hair it was permanent- if you hated it, tough luck- you either had to cut it off, or bleach it out and risk losing it. Now you can try 15 colors a year if you want. But you’re gorgeous whatever color your hair is, and the video is very helpful. 😊

    I have the opposite of your hair. My strands are thick but I don't have a lot of hair. My hair comes to my armpit and I only use half of one each time. I do mix a small amount of don't despair repair deep conditioning mask in as well for extra moisture.

    • @itsbridgetnw
      @itsbridgetnw  Рік тому

      I've been wanting to try that mask! Looking back on this video, I think I'd do it a lil differently now. Not because I have darker hair now, but because I think the pigment maybe wasn't strong enough. Either that or I needed a different color. Ether way, it was fun lol!

    When i was a teenager i had hair down to my butt. It was so thick and healthy. I would collect rainwater, set out a beer the night before (so flat beer), an egg, and the juice of a lemon... a clarifying shampoo with the other stuff my hair was like silk and soooo shiny! 😂😂😂 45 years ago.. dont know if I'd trust the rainwater anymore! 😂

    So my hair is thick anyways... hoping it doesn't add too much BODY... I ordered some... hoping that is softens the curls... I probably WILL cut my hair to your length BEFORE I do this. My hair is about 5 inches longer than yours, curly and THICK like a MOP.... lol..... really.... I'm 62 and thought my hair would thing SOME over the years... but damn.... on well... can't WAIT for the deep conditioning!

    • @itsbridgetnw
      @itsbridgetnw  2 роки тому

      YES! This made my hair feel amazing! After you wash & condition, I would definitely recommend not touching your curls as much as possible. Try to let them dry on their own! There are SO many curly girl hacks out there (esp on tiktok) but I'm not a curly girl obv lol. HOWEVER, I've heard that curls should be combed through with a wide-tooth comb after washing while wet right after putting some leave-in conditioning products in and to just be gentle with them. That way your curls don't get separated from touching them or brushing through them. Deff check tiktok for more curly girl inspo! :)

    Do you think using Overtone's daily silver conditioner would have really extended the duration of the silver in your hair? When it did wash out did your hair go back to completely the same color or did it still have some silver in it? (you said in a comment below it lasted 2 weeks - how often did you wash your hair in those 2 weeks?) Just wondering if doing this process once a month and using their silver conditioner would maintain the color until the next month to repeat. I am transitioning to grey and have a line of demarcation like you and thought this would be a great way to tame the blonde and go to the silver faster and healthier. Thank you for your help, greatly appreaciate it. ~RVA~

    • @itsbridgetnw
      @itsbridgetnw  2 роки тому +1

      I think it definitely could! This was the first and only product I've used from Overtone, so I can't confirm. The only thing I would also wonder is will it be too much pigment deposited onto the hair over time? For example, I've heard pro hairdressers mention that using a purple shampoo every time you wash your hair can deposit too many toning properties. I can imagine that would lead to a weird muddy color in the hair and possibly buildup. When I use it too often, my hair just starts to feel heavy & lifeless. Deff ask a pro, but I think that if I was in your shoes, I would do something more like a Wella toner of some sort to transition & then use this and/or the conditioner you mentioned in between toning sessions. I actually used a Wella toner (can't remember which one, I'm at work rn lol), and it was great! It was darker than I imagined lol but it lasted much much longer (like a real toner should) and looked better all round. Hopefully this helps! :)

    • @itsbridgetnw
      @itsbridgetnw  3 роки тому +1

      For me, it lasted about two weeks max. However, I used the pastel one and they do have more pigmented versions of this exact color. I think next time I will definitely be going with one of the more pigmented ones! Tbh, I so badly want to try a bright & fun color! Esp now that I know that I don't have to commit since it doesn't last too long lol! Thank you so much, Melissa! I'm so so happy you enjoyed this!

      I think it's worth the shot if you don't mind the price! To be honest, I think it might make your hair look muddier than anything. I would ask a pro, but personally, I would look into a real toner of some sort - look into Wella! Hopefully this helps!

      Oh no! 😥 it shouldn’t last very long. A few washes! Your hair must’ve had to dark of an orange or red tint to it before applying. Opposite of purple is yellow and opposite of red is green on the color wheel! The color didn’t last long on me though.

    So this is $32 for an 8 ounce tub and it washes out pretty quickly, like in a week or two. Doesn't really seem worth it.

    • @itsbridgetnw
      @itsbridgetnw  3 роки тому

      Yeah it’s definitely not budget friendly 😓 but I was hoping it would last longer than the couple of weeks that it did. Now I know lol! I just brought this product up to my hairdresser yesterday and she mentioned that one of her clients had used the blue and it didn’t want to come out! So I guess it depends on the color. She also mentioned that blue is one of the hardest colors to achieve AND remove.

      It’s only semi permanent so it will wash out fairly easily. This was last Saturday and I’d say by next weekend my hair will be just about back to my starting point. So i think it will stay in my hair for about 2.5-3 weeks. I love it nonetheless! It was so easy. 🙏🏼❤️ now I want to try one of the bright colors now that I know it won’t last too long lol!

      Not really - my hair wasn't a level 10 icey blonde so it looked that way tho lol. I think a real toner would work better for my hair tho tbh. Or if I went with one of the more vibrant/pigmented colors. I also think a real toner is more worth the money bc it lasts much longer than just a couple of weeks!

    • @itsbridgetnw

      I think it might turn out muddy and weird looking tbh! If you have actual orange hair, maybe another bleach session is what you're looking for. THEN go in with an actual toner, not just this overtone. The toning properties in this will only last you a couple of weeks! Of course, I'm not a pro - I'm only speaking on what I've heard from pros! Looking back on this video, I'd definitely do it a lil differently now lol. Not just because I have darker hair now, but because it made my hair look a lil muddy. Either the pigment wasn't strong enough or it was just the wrong shade entirely lol. I had so much fun making this either way! :)
