Beautiful design and super helpful tutorial, on the line vinyl do you spray on clear gloss spray to keep the epoxy from pulling away or just cover with epoxy straight afterwards...? I have had issues with epoxy pulling away over my vinyl pieces and was just looking for pointers... :)
You can seal it with counter culture quick coat or a clear spray. I prefer the quick coat as you'll see in many of my videos.

This maybe a crazy question but can anybody tell me how was the vinyl cut into that zip zag shape to make the "wood" section? Did she use an exacto/craft knife to cut the shape? The same was done on the other side to make the "eraser" part. I'm a bit confused? 🤦🏾♀️😅
They are part of the template she used so were already cut when she put the vinyl on the cup. Then she just pulled each piece away when it was time to do that section.
@@wendyrobinson394 gotcha!! Thanks for explanation. I went to the site to purchase the template but in the disclaimer it says "these templates are not for beginners" 😳😅 I'm a newbie to this.
@FancyBelle1913 it looks simple enough to me. I wonder if they’re referring to getting it all straight? I think if you follow the way it’s done here would help. Putting the whole thing on first seems key to getting nice and straight.

I love this , I have sooo many pattern vinyl that I wasnt sure what to do with. .... Now I know :) also on the zigzag could you offset the original design and cut it out so you dont have to lay down every line.... just a thought

For the clear coat i saw you used Gloss instead of Matte. Are we supposed to use Gloss instead of Matte? I thought everything needed to be Matte in order to epoxy?
either one will work fine. I've been using this same stuff for years.

60-80 sanding blocks

What does sanding do?
Smooths out any rough edges and exposes a line of stainless steel around the top rim that will later be where our final coats of epoxy adhere to create a seal
Thank you for this video it was very inspiring to the point that I purchased two of the designs. I have opened the 30 oz; however, I do not see the thin strips for the added details. I thought your video said they would come with the purchase. Did I hear that correctly?
thank you! Can you contact the seller to see about that? I was under the impression it would be included or she could send it if needed. If not, then you'd just cut a 11.5"x.10" square in cricut design space using the shapes feature. sorry for the confusion!
Is the images from the template printed on printable vinyl?
No the vinyl is already printed, we’re just cutting it with the template

Tried SIX, yes SIX printed vinyl sheets without them lining up ✅
I just don’t get it.
when you start applying it, are you sure it's completely straight up and down the side of the cup? What specifically isn't lining up?
@@FlynnSistersBoutique it’s not lining up horizontally. Once it’s wrapped, the eraser, for example, is off by approximately 2/16’s.
My husband has tried as well. I’m removing the vinyl and trimming as you did, test wrapping and measuring before starting.
My husband even drew a pencil line around the top to follow.
@@FlynnSistersBoutique I was just looking at the tumblers on the site you linked and the description says that it is not a true straight tumbler. The bottom and top are not exactly same. I'm wanting to try this, but now am worried. Great video! Thank you!
