In this video I will show you how I like to glitter a classic pencil tumbler! I will show you how I created my own template to mask off sections and how to apply the glitter using the epoxy method. The original creator of this design is the amazingly talented Ashleigh Meers. You can find her original tutorial here: • The Original Glitter P...

Love how lots of people do this cup a little different but still looks great. I love how you finish yours off with the extra vinyl and washing it all up ready for purchase. Great job, thank you
Thanks so much 😊
Amazing video
Your videos are life!
Thank you
Love this!
So glad!
I’ve made a ton of pencil cups but the thin vinyl and washi tape make it look so polished! Love it!!! 💕
Happy Happy Saturday❣️ My Favorite Day of the Week-Because I get to wake up, pour myself a nice cup of coffee, relax in bed and watch Your Saturday Tutorial🤩 I am Always inspired by Your work, and I also want to say that as someone who is Disabled, and on a Fixed Income but LOVES to craft tumblers as a part of my Art Therapy; I Cannot Thank You Enough for taking the time to Show Us How to Create Our Own templates in Design Space‼️‼️🙏🏼❤️ I personally don’t have extra money to run to Etsy and buy templates all of the time😩 So even though it’s an added step for You to Create and Film within Your already Amazing tutorials-I have to commend You, and Thank You for this added effort🙏🏼🙌🏼 every single one is Helpful to not only myself but new tumbler crafters that may just be starting out and would also like to Learn how to make their own templates as well so that they can take that extra $5.00 and invest it into being able to buy Craft supplies such as Amazing Peachy Olive Glitter✨🤩 Thank You Jessica💛
Thank you so much Candace. I am so glad my tutorials are helpful!
Always learning new things in design space with you ❤ thanks for your videos!!!!
I'm so glad!
Do you have a video on your turner setup? What kind of cabinet is it in?
I do. I have a couple videos on that on my channel 😊
So cute! I love pencil tumblers! There are so many option you can do with them. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for watching Summer!
Thank you for showing us your take on this classic!
Thank you
I have seen so many of these cups made but I have to say this one is my favorite! ❤️ the little details of lining the edges made it pop so much more… Thanks for sharing ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks so much! 😊
Jessica - all things you mention as possibly extra; like the epoxy method for glittering for better coverage, two coats of glitter for better coverage….that to me is what me your cups stand above so many others🤩🤩😍. Please don’t apologize for being good😉
thank you so much!! that means the world to me!!!
Beautiful thanks again for your videos
Have a blessed week!!!
Thanks you too
Yesterday before I saw this I told my husband that making one of these was my weekend goal. Your timing is incredible! Thank you so much, this has really helped me get this done. Will post pictures in the group. Love all your work & thanks for sharing!💗
Could you make a video with steps to do half pencil half composition book?
Love the pencil cup. Thank you so much for sharing.
I’ve only made one pencil cup and now eager to make another one ❤️ thanks for another great video! 💕🤩
Thank you Nikita!
Beautiful thanks for the video
You're welcome!!
Thank you for another great tutorial!

Thank you Mindy!
Very Nice! I can’t wait to try your method!
Thank you!
So pretty!!! What a cool teachers gift!
Love it! Makes me want to do a few to send to school with the kiddos.
Go for it!
i guess I'm gonna have to break down and make one!!
Go for it Beth!
I see the matching stapler and pencil picture in video. Do you have tutorials for those?
There’s no matching stapler in this video or picture I’ve never made one of those
@@FlynnSistersBoutique ok It's these old eyes!
I’m gearing up to make my first one - this video had perfect timing!!
I'm so glad!
Absolutely love it!!
I'm so glad. Thank you for watching!
Thanks Gwen!
Love! My grandchildren would love to give these to their teachers! I’ll have to get started! LOL
🤗
So in love with tutorial 😍
I'm so glad 😊 Thank you for watching!
Great video!!! Thank you so much!!!
Love your work!
Thank you Regina!
Gorgeous!! Makes me want to make one and I haven't been making tumblers since December because I got so burnt out on top of everything else in life and just didn't have the time or motivation. I kind of want to make them as teachers gifts, but I don't know how many teachers really appreciate it or look at is another mug to throw out 😕
I'm a teacher and I would LOVE one of these if I were your child's teacher
You make it look easier than it is in my head. Will try one for my son who is a teacher, he is 25 going for his masters then PHD. I feel old! Lol
Wow. Thats great!
Love this! ❤️ Nice to see a new approach for the different colors.. 😊
I'm glad you like it!
Great tutorial! I sure appreciate how you started from prepping your tumbler for newbies like me! Love all of you videos, they're always so thorough!
I'm so glad! Thank you for watching Heather 😃
I feel like I’ve been doing extra work and buffing my tumbler for prep too long😭
You don’t have to be prepping it that long. A light sanding is sufficient
I love that you show your "mistakes" and show us how to fix them!
We all make them!
Beautiful as always.
Love it 💞
Thank you Shane!
As always, great tutorial.😍
Thank you Karen 😊
Love it! 😍 can’t wait to try this!!
Thank you Nina! Have fun!!
Beautiful, you are amazing. I'm thinking of making one with red lead because all teachers have those
That's a great idea!
I love mine
😃
I love all your videos I started maken my
Own tumblers
First time I have seen this and it looks amazing 🤩
Where do you get your glitter shakers?
amzn.to/3zKjbDa
I didn’t find the tumble turner on Etsy any suggestions
they're sold out, so I would recommend joining their facegroup group which I also have linked there so you can get updates on restocks and waiting lists :-)
Omg love the cabinet turner set up!! Where did you get it!?? Also the tumbler itself is so cute and will def be making one for my kid’s new teacher.
She got it from IKEA . She has a video on here with the link and all. 😉
I made this tumbler a couple weeks ago following this video step by step.. it came out soooo beautiful!! I would love to send you a picture!!
Love it as usual!! But can you tell how long the curing time is with the new A- Plus rein? Thank you again for sharing
The clear cast plus came out last year and it takes a lot longer to dry than most epoxy. Usually around 24 hours. So I only use it for final coats
AWESOME. Thank you🙏🏾🥰
I’m hearing folks say not to use dawn power wash to clean tumblers after epoxied. Have you experienced any issues? They say the alcohol in it dulls out tumblers
i've never heard anyone say that. the alcohol content is not high enough to dull your epoxy and if it does then your epoxy likely isn't dry enough. i wash all of mine exclusively with powerwash and if it dulled them, i wouldn't recommend using it to you guys so i'm not sure where they're getting that
@@FlynnSistersBoutique good because I love my dawn lol thanks!!
Wow you made this super simple to follow! Again thank you for your beautiful tutorial. Do you think you could offset the wood color part to create the pinstripes instead of cutting each one by hand?
Thank you Saunya! You certainly could do it that way if you prefer!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! This looks really amazing! Do you mind sharing which vinyl you used for “teach”?
I want to put a name with vinyl on my painted tumbler, can I put the vinyl on first then seal with my epoxy/resin?
you want to put the decal directly onto the spray paint? I would probably epoxy first just in case because you could pull up some of the paint with the transfer tape
@@FlynnSistersBoutique thank you.
Hi Jessica. This looks great and is right on time. What is the green and black pad underneath your spinner?
Thank you 😊 it’s a heating mat to keep my epoxy closet warm
I have bern trying this for 2 years and can't get it correct.
I hope my tutorial helps!
Do you UV Epoxy on just certain tumblers? Also do I need to keep a layer of epoxy at the end over the top rim?
mostly just on light colored cups and only on the final coat. it shouldn't be over the top rim. at the end of the video, i do a close up of what it should look like.
The code for discount will not work for me. Says invalid for what's in my cart. I have this bundle and another bundle in my cart.
If it’s the Peachy Palette it won’t work
Is the decal for sale?
No, but if you search that quote on Etsy you’ll find very similar ones
Where did you get your tumbler heat box that’s neat to have them in a cabinet do u have heat in there or just a light
here's a video that will explain where I got it along with a list of supplies in the description box of the video -= ua-cam.com/video/hQEgzcjs_f4/v-deo.html
Did you use the foam double sided tape or just regular double sided tape?
I love this!! What would one charge for something like this? It’s a lot of work for sure 😅
Probably $50 and up depending on the size. Depends on the maker tho.
@@FlynnSistersBoutique wow lower than I was thinking. Thanks for your response
I love how this turned out! Where did you get your hat? Giving me all the fall vibes!
thanks! i think it's from Marley Lilly
Can you please share zigzag and all items used
All of the templates will be sized differently depending on the type of tumbler you're using. You can see how to easily make your template using design space and size them to fit your cup perfectly 😊
Do you keep your cup on the turner and spinning the entire drying time? Or can you take it off at a certain point?
You can switch it off at the 4-6 hour make
Question about the rim... I see you use your knife to trim the epoxy off the flat part of the top of the rim as well as the inside. Other videos I have watched seem to only angle the blade towards the inside of the cup, leaving a little epoxy on the top of the rim. Are both ways ok?
It shouldn’t matter if you sanded earlier to expose a small line of stainless steel so your final layers are adhering there to create the seal and not the top rim
Thanks!
I have been contemplating buying quick coat to seal my glitter but I have also been thinking about Brite tone. Do you know what the difference is?
@flynnsistersboutique
quick coat is a water based urethane sealer and brite tone is a polyurethane. quick coat will not replace epoxy to fully seal the tumbler like brite tone could. quick coat meant to seal surfaces with a light coat to create an optimal surface to coat w/ epoxy
@@FlynnSistersBoutique so essentially minwax polyurethane clear gloss is the same as Brite tone? Do you know if anything similar to quick coat is sold in stores?
Hi how do you feel about those machines that help epoxy cure faster? The epoxy dryers I should say. I want to invest in one but not sure if it’s a good option.
i think they're fine but some epoxy can become brittle if cured at too high of temperature
@@FlynnSistersBoutique ok thank you for the response. I’m just going to start my first tumbler maybe I’ll wait a bit before I think about getting one.
I have an epoxy dryer and it's amazing. Jessica is right about the temperature. Keep in mind it dries tumblers faster but they still need to cure for about 72 hours. Drying and curing are different. Hope this helps.
@@craftyteacher7900 Thank You for the response what dryer do you have ?
@@noravilla583 I have the WONNV dryer.
I haven't done one yet. I have everything ready too. Lol.
Go for it. You can do it!
I'd think I'd rather try it this way than having to do multiple coats with mod podge 🥴
