Looking forward to your end of season orchard walkthrough, when you talk about winners and losers and strategy going forward. What you're doing is really important, and you're doing it well!
Thank you George. I think I should discover several varieties that people do not typically associate with the Willamette Valley. Hopefully, I have opened eyes about Campaniere, LDA, Brown Sugar Crunch and Biffaro Zeus in ground here. I have so many new Breba trees planted that I’m really excited about. Always appreciate your feedback!
I was looking forward to that LAST fig? They looked SO AMAZING, think about it, he could have easily lied and said, they were SO sweet, I would have totally believe it... I really enjoyed the season. ❤
What have you tried to tackle these late season issues? I.e. have you tried using canopies to fend off the rain? Have you tried heat sink stones, pavers, etc. to raise soil temps? Having them in ground obviously makes hauling them into a greenhouse unrealistic, but I’m curious what if anything has worked for you. I’m in the Willamette Valley too and love your channel.
@@jonahschmidt5117 - These lates were all grown in 15G pots. I do not manipulate the trees at the end of the season. I’ve been growing for here for eight years and I do not have the energy to try to extend the season. As my buddy Eric says, the lates are no more than a novelty for us”. His UA-cam channel is Loftinart. I am trying to get my 15G pot total down to 20 (eventually 15). I have done well with potted lates grown in a favorable microclimate. My real excitement is with my orchard trials. I’m doing something that has not been reported on here and believe I have an obligation to spread the truth. Hopefully, this helps many focus on what makes sense here.
You're so blessed to have a season that lasts almost till Nov. Our season has BEEN over. I wouldn't DARE eat a fig now, unless I just love torture 😂😅😂
