Streetlighting Lantern being Changed over, (SOX to LED).

- 90w SOX Philips MA60 being changed over to Unistreet lantern, as part of the LED 'upgrade' programme, this is just a one for one lantern replacement scheme, no columns, (not even really old ones) are being replaced, so at least they live on for a few more years.
This is in Cosham High Street, just north of Portsmouth.
With the main road replacements, it seems to be a one size fits all approach, as the same type of Unistreet LED lantern (looks like the 100 LED matrix version) is being used across the board to replace everything from 90w SOX to 400w SON.
That is so depressing to watch
Thats an old Stewarts & Lloyds column too. At least that was left and kept the same.

90w Philips MAs are MA90s.
135w Philips MAs are MA50s.
180w Philips MAs are MA60s.
That is a 90w so it is a MA90.
The MA numbering system has always been a bit confusing!
He doesn't even realize what he's installing. LED streetlighting is toxic to the eyes.

Speaking of train sounds and streetlights, Class 465 BREL/ABB built used to have Brush motors, and now it's Hitachi and boring, same with LEDs, old SOX ones are nice and LED is extremely boring

As it's a main road it would be the higher wattage version.
@@NOWThatsRichy if they really replace SON 400W lamps, then you loose a lot of lumen, from 46800 to 6390...
Why cant they change the entire pole it's just lazy because u see how old the pole is they could have at least put a new pole
