    I bought a 1998 Honda Acty and imported it a month ago. It ran out of gas and now I cannot get it to run. It will start but it dies within 5 to 10 seconds. I have watched many of your UA-cam videos for help without any luck. I have changed out the fuel filter and tried a new fuel pump but it doesn’t work. Then I put the old fuel pump back on but worry it doesn’t have enough pressure. Next I removed the gas tank and cleaned it out and replaced the fuel lines. I replaced the fuel control relay. I checked the fuse under the dash for the fuel pump and it’s fine. Today after watching this video for the 3rd time I decided to man-up and I removed the carburetor. The bowl had a bunch of gelatinous gunk in it. I couldn’t get the float off after trying briefly to check the needle. I cleaned it really well and passed some carb jet cleaner wires through the jets with lots of carb cleaner. I tested both solenoids and I can hear them both moving so I didn’t replaced them. I’m wondering if maybe I should have after reading other people’s comments since I already have them. I put everything back together and it turns over and runs for about 10 seconds and then dies. I would love to have a phone consultation and would be willing to pay you for your time if that is something you would be interested in. I’m desperate for some help. Thanks.

      Sound alike your carb valves. I have a video on how to change them if you look on my channel. Go to playlists and find the ACTY videos. Those valves are cheap on eBay. You want the carb solenoid and the slow cut solenoid.

      I need some help w my 92 acty, at times at start up it turns over no problem and idles and drives smoothly plenty of power no problem there, but at random start ups it kinda cranks cranks and turns over but kinda struggles and a puff of blue and white smoke come out the tail pipe and then it idles normal and smooth other times I just crank over and it turns over like nothing..so I'm kinda stuck at idk what could be wrong lol..I put a can of b12 chemtool in the tank to see if it clears maybe a jet or so up idk ..I've researched and can't find someone w the same issue 😢😢

    Hello Maverick, great video, I'm working on my carburetor and my braided gass hose is falling apart, can you please tell me what's the size diameter on that hose in order to get a replacement, thanks for what you do

    • @GhostSpeedShop
      @GhostSpeedShop  Рік тому +1

      I’m not sure on the diameter, I would recommend removing it and taking it to the parts store. They all have rolls of hose in the back, ask for a foot of the closest size they have. My guess is it’s 3/8.

    Where do you buy the thermo valve? I can’t find it in stock anywhere online

    do you think its the valves that there could be a lot of oil/gas in the intake?

    • @GhostSpeedShop
      @GhostSpeedShop  Рік тому +1

      Oil is from the pcv return. You can add a catch can to reduce it. Fuel would be from these valves/ solenoids yes.

      @@GhostSpeedShop thanks for the quick reply. I just bought a 93 acty 2 days ago; i went to start to doing maintenance checks and started with the air filter. It was so dark I feel like its never been changed. saw all the oil/gas in the intake and thats what lead to watch this whole video. it runs fine. but i want it to run great.

    Believe it or not, I was able to replace these without removing the carb. Unfortunately, my old ones were not bad, so it did not fix my issue of it wanting to die at anything past 85% throttle. Removing airbox cover helps with the issue but doesn't completely fix it. I cant figure out what the issue could be.

      Typically when people change the valves without removing the carb, they break the thermostat valve on the passenger side so I never recommend it.
      Have you already changed your fuel filter and adjusted the idle adjustment on the carb (flat head screw)
