Honda ACTY upper carburetor rebuild guide! The easy way!

  • This is the easiness way to rebuild the acty carburetor. 9 times out of 10 this method fixes idle and throttle issues if after the carb solenoids and valves are replaced and your acty still has issues.
    See my other videos for carb valve replacement.
    There are more in depth methods of completing the rebuild however this is an easy at home way to fix your own ACTY.
    You will need to purchase carb cleaner from an auto parts store and work in a well ventilated area. Always wear gloves and eye protection.

      Go check the video I have on changing the carb solenoids/ valves. It should have enough clips for you to reference!

    My acty runs rough at normal engine temp only. If i hit the gas too fast it bogs. New solenoids, new fuel filter. Truck ran fine before all through rev range. Thermostat was stuck open though so it stayed cold and had no heat. Praying your video and this carb kit i got are the missing piece to the puzzle. I have 49k km on it.

      Check the vacuum thermo valves as well. They are the little orange things with vacuum nipples on them. Make sure none of them are broken.

      @@GhostSpeedShop I did have to replace the one up top. Gonna clean the upper end of the carb tonight. I'll follow up. More actys more life man.

      Cleaned carb. Still ran like shit. Saw I was getting weak spark from one plug and truck ran the same without that plug connected. Replaced plugs and the truck ran great. Until it got to normal engine temp and it idles so rough. When driving however, the truck runs great now. I'm gonna do wires and distributor next. If that don't fix it I'm gonna sell this one and buy another.

      @@ues5791 I wouldn't necessarily follow the same steps I've taken. I have been just firing the parts cannon at it. Tonight I get my new wires and distributor cap as well as the little rotor. I'm going to guess this is most likely the problem. I don't know why I didn't try this in the first place directly after doing the thermal valve and thermostat. Meanwhile, I own an old gas 366 and know to change the plugs and wires every year

    So I did this. still having the same problem of when I go into gear it gets in no problem then i give it gas and nothing happens for like 6 seconds then suddenly rpms start going high and the car starts running fast and i shift into gears no problem. Then lets say coasting in 3rd with barely any throttle, and when i get back on it it hesitates and bucks a bit til in 3-4k range then it runs no problem. If I run it reving over 3k it runs flawlessly. It's just starting in low rpms that it just doesn't respond. If I feather the clutch and gas it runs perfect but that is me burning clutch. It wasn't like this before. I miss my old acty man IDK what to do.

    My little paper/cardboard gasket was so gunked up and brittle that it broke when I tried to remove it, what do you recommend

      Oh man, I’m not sure. I’ve never seen replacements available. See if your local parts store has a sheet of felpro. They sell sheets of material to make your own gaskets

      Got it done, car starts up but dies right away. Maybe I need to wait longer for the carb cleaner to evaporate

      Keep turning it over, it’s going to take a min for the bowl to fill back up with fuel.

    Great video! My acty starts and runs for about 10 seconds, stutter and dies, then leaks fuel out of the air box. Any idea if this would fix my issue or if I have to fully remove and clean the whole carb?

      Start with the carb, that’s an odd one for sure.

      You’d have the remove the carb. The float is stuck open making fuel pour out

      ​@@DannyCoolBeansshey there bro, so my 92 acty once in awhile or every other start up it kinda struggles to turn over I gotta give it some gas but sometimes it starts up right away w no hesitation othet Than that it's good at idle or driving plenty of power nothing wrong there ..just random hard start ups like every other start up what do u think it can be

      Hey 👋
      I’d make sure general maintenance is done. Plugs, plug wires, air filter and especially the fuel filter. Hit the carb inlet with SeaFoam and add to gas tank.
      After that still happening, I’d replace both of the Carb Solenoid. They control air and fuel cuts

      @@DannyCoolBeanss so just did air and fuel filter swap. The fuel filter was dirty and air filter tooo. I got a honda oem dis cap and rotor on the way also some ngk wires and plugs and I already ran a can of b12 chemtool I was gonna do 2 lol..but thanx foe the info I hope I don't gotta swap out those solenoids I've been reading bout..cause it idles and drives beautiful even at idle at stop lights its like the engine ain't even on., just thkse random hard start ups also it when it does it ..some blue/white at times smoke comes out the tail pipe
