    For all the hi-tech gadgetry of an airplane, the wipers are just like ones in my 11 year old car. ^_^ Great landing!

    Weather radar working overtime there.
    Heaps and heaps of pixels , must be a RTX 2080 TI powering those screens.

    Thanks for sharing this great video. I'm 32 and currently doing my PPL and will continue to do my CPL and ATPL after that. Meanwhile I work as an engineer (materials science) Do you think there are chances to get an airline job as an F/O with 38 years?

      Never too late to join man, I know a gentleman at jetBlue who was an elementary school music teacher until the age of 47, felt unfulfilled and sick of his career and decided to bang out his flight training in a year and half, do his 2 years at the regionals, and now sits right-seat in the Airbus 320 in his mid 50s. You can do anything if you put your mind to it, good luck-32 is young here!!

      @@nikos9711 Thanks Niko, such reports are always very encouraging. I currently fly the Aquila A211 and gosh, doing the PPL license is one of the best decisions I'ver ever made. Always been my biggest dream since I was little. Can't wait to proceed with the CPL.

      The orange and red area on the navigationdisplay displays a weather cell and / or a thunderstorm. Red and purple should be avoided, yellow is medium rain and green is minor rain.

      There wasn’t a thunderstorm, but it was pretty overcast, and looks like a little bit of rain.

      @@MONRFin it's prob the same as flap 40 in a 737, when it's not windy and short rwy they use full flap ( 40) ( the same here)

      If you have strong headwind and plenty of runway why waste fuel creating extra drag. Plus doesn’t higher speed makes it easier to control in windy conditions

      @@tomstravels520 Correct, flap 3 gives you better control and if there was a good chance of windshear (eg a thunderstorm - although this doesn't really look like a thunderstorm, just heavy rain), flap 3 gives you much better go-around performance due to the reduction of drag vs flap full. Also, if there is a crosswind, the faster they fly (flap 3 has a higher approach speed), the less the drift angle the crosswind causes, therefore far less of a correction to straighten up with the rudders during the flare. There are a few cons, but they can mostly be 'briefed out' when managing the threats they pose.

    Why was the ecam landing checklist not completed, did the crew forget to send the "ok we're ready" message? :D

      The 'cabin ready' memo on the ECAM is not installed in every aircraft, and sometimes the cabin crew forgets to send the ready message. Not a problem, since they always call when the cabin is secured :)

      I guess the right part of the FCU backlight is not working - the V/S-FPA-window is also dark.

      The CB core (thunderstorm) was embedded in other rainy clouds and just aft of the airport, so a landing could still be made with precaution. :)

      Joel T it was tilted towards the ground. No wonder they got those terrible pictures on ND. Poor WX RDR management I suppose

      @@MONRFin Good point, -0.1 tilt would be useless and it's just drawing the ground. At this point, tilt should be approx 4 deg. Perhaps there was a thunderstorm, but fat chance of avoiding it if you have no idea where it is.
