Hello and a happy new year!
Nice to have you in 2025 as well and here is the first video of the year!
This time you can join us on our departure from Frankfurt runway 18 southbound in our Airbus A330-300 in beautiful weather conditions.
During T/O roll the readability of the instruments is not optimal due to the sun being in front but I hope you will like it anyway.
Enjoy! ;-)

Lovely whale sound when the engines spool up, you can tell immediately that it’s an A330 RR, legend❤

I know that runway
FRA MAD Lan 787
Thanks for the instrument views video.
Is Runway 18 ever used for arrivals? And…is Runway 36 ever used at all? As many times as I have flown in and out of Frankfurt, I have never arrived on 18 or used 36 at all. Coincidence?
Yep thats quite special at Frankfurt. Only runway 18 is used and only for takeoff as well. Quite the opposite can be found further north with runway 07L/25R only being used for landing but at least in both directions
Exactly like @rapid6747 wrote - runway 18 is used for takeoffs only and that direction only.
@@Malamba4231 fun fact, there actually is no officially named runway 36 at Frankfurt. Yes it's the same strip as the runway 18 but if you check photos, Google maps etc there are no numbering or piano keys on the end of runway 18, which would normally be runway 36.
@ Thank you, I didn’t realize there is actually no Runway 36. I wonder how many major airports have runways that are only valid in one direction?
KO is on its way to OCN, any changes to the fleet and pilots with all these A333s gone to the holiday subsidiary? Will them be phased out of the DLH fleet eventually?
As far as I know, all A330s will be shifted to OCN and the entire fleet phased out eventually at LH.
But all depending on new aircraft being available for delivery to fill the gaps (i.e. A350 and B787).
Beginning in April, there will be up to 6 A350 coming to Frankfurt and also training for a limited group of pilots will be conducted. We do not know the conditions yet but it seems - as of now at least - that there is no plan sending pilots to OCN. But you never know... ;-)
@ thx cap, maybe still keep a small portion for the A340 fleet and the others to A350/B787? As far as I know, OCN got their new pilots from other places with brand new contracts z.B. RYR (not a surprise with Carsten ;) ) Happy to see some new blood in Frankfurt, we’re getting too much A350s down here in Munich. The new 787 D-ABQA from Norwegian is carrying the name of the old D-AIKO “Koblenz”, maybe we’ll see some A350 videos here in the channel, maybe
Yes, we will see...I will keep you guys updated... ;-)
When flying a plane, is there average elevation for autopilot to turn on, like for example once the plane is at 4,000 feet on takeoff, turn on autopilot and once plane is at 4,000 feet turn off autopilot for landing, also Aviation is the best ❤️
There is a minimum use height for the autopilot defined by either the manufacturer or the operator, so there is one after lift-off and one for an approach at which you have to disconnect the autopilot at the latest, depending on the type of approach.
trent 700s screaming on To/Ga
Pushback mit Nase nach Osten bei Takeoff auf der 18? Vermutlich wegen Traffic?
Ja, genau. Rollen dann über N4, L, N14 und N…😉
can u fly a350 also?
With the A330 we are rated for the A350 as well as this is a so-called common type rating and allows you to fly both types. Nevertheless, before actually flying the A350 when coming from the A330, you have to do several simulator sessions and a short line-training.
So, to finally answer your question: I am rated on the A350 but so far did not get to actually fly it. ;-)
@PapaPadde i hope u fly a350 soon that would make for a nice video 😄
I am hoping for that as well! :-D
And I will absolutely let you guys participate...!
