He just doesn't have anybody to run to. Most of us don't know what that feels like. When you are homeless it's like you're in a hole filled with sand and the more you try to dig your way out, more sand caves in, the deeper you go. Then what you need is for someone to rescue you. That's what this poor guy needs, someone.
I completely agree with you that is the most rational comment i read. Talking from experience i myself found myself moving back to my parents sometimes not even being able to pay for rent. Twice in my life it's happen im just grateful i had good parents and a good home to welcome me back. I was 18&23 sometimes we talk down on these people because we are quick to judge and i myself have been guilty of it in the past. Now i don't even care where they spend my money when i donate a few dollars when ever i have any. I usually see old homeless around my area its so sad.
+Alejandro Rodriguez, I think that is something we tell ourselves...they grow comfortable with it and they need help and time relearning or just learning how to manage life. They have to rebuild real belief in themselves....more failure is a killer.
I am a little saddened by the lack of humanity in some of these comments. Sometimes life wraps you up in an ugly Ven Diagram. While it may not have happened to this guy, imagine losing you parents, losing your job, getting sick all within the same week. Many of us are just one ugly Ven Diagram away from being homeless. A bit more compassion I think would be appropriate.
i fully agree luckly my parents aren't going to kick me out if i don't have a place to go i basicly work for my parents they provide me with about everything i can think of. as long as i do what i'm told when i'm told i will have a roof over my head don't get wrong i plan on getting a job but my point is i will always have a back up plan
I don't know. If I see a person with such a horrific run of horrible luck I definitely feel for them. However, most of these homeless people we see videos on simply don't fall into that category. And there is a reason for that. There is more going on than what the videos normally show. They often say they can barely buy food. Yet, your average panhandler can make $15 an hour easy. And that is ALL TAX FREE. So, where is all of that money going... if not toward food, shelter, etc? And these folks do this for years on end. And manage to never get an actual job. Like I said, there clearly is more going on there for most of these people.
It very important parents should be there for their children, support them, love them and so are the children must be their for parents include when they get old care for them, love and respect that the way should be. A lot of people don't valve one another and it up sad me. How could they abandon each other, that all they got. No matter what situation I am there for my sons it my job I don't care how old they were.
I took someone in for two months. Every night I came home to a cooked dinner. He now is working and doing well. To get mercy, you have to give away some of your own.
People should have more compassion for the homeless. The majority of the homeless population are mentally ill or outcasts that society has rejected for one reason or another. Do not judge homeless people. The average American person or family is only two paychecks away from possible homelessness. This is no longer the land of milk and honey. Life is hard and is only going to get tougher. If your blessed with a job and a roof over your head count your blessings. Life can change so fast in this hopeless world. So be very careful how you judge the poor.
I used to give money to give 20 bucks to anyone on the street that told me a sad story. Then the other day I found an RV guy that was homeless at one time .....here is the young man talking in a video. ua-cam.com/video/GoKn7mBz_bs/v-deo.html
He reminds me of myself when he said that some people have somewhere to go when the traveling game is done. I screwed up several times but I could go back to family and recover.
I think that it is probably so hard to be homeless that many choose to use drugs to ease their mind and im pretty sure i would too if i was homeless. Can you imagine the anxiety they must have when they are sober? In this case he is 23 years old and got homeless and because of that all his friends abandoned him.. i mean.. man it must be so hard out there. I feel so sorry for this guy. I hope he has a better life today.
+ betaffs You're the 1st one with an intelligent and correct answer. Until those so quick to judge others have walked a mile in a homeless persons shoes they will never begin to understand why substance abuse becomes a way to cope with their reality.
You believe the bullshit this guy says? He's a drug addict. That's why he's on the streets. He doesn't want real help. He wants money to buy more dope. He needs to grow up and be a responsible adult. Blaming the government and other people for his predicament is not going to help.
RaffleisRight - It is the governments fault. Instead of spending BILLIONS of dollars on the military they could use all of that to build everyone a decent sized home nobody would be struggling. Or get rid of money all together, it’s an illusion bc we really don’t need it to survive. All we need is food and we can grow that. All the other bs material possessions don’t matter. They want you to SLAVE to survive lmao. If you don’t agree with me you need help.
We all been dealt with hard times in our lives. Life is a constant battle of hardships and eventually, rises from it. He is only 23, he's got great chance of getting off the street. I really wish that someone can help this guy. I hate to see young people lose themselves when all they need is someone to guide them.
Fonch Z What I think he is saying is that most homeless people are very old. Other people there age are retired and on there last quarter of life. But this is a young man that with a little help could get a job and maybe get his life back on track.
Tanner Simonovich understood but he definitely is not in a good situation. Unless someone helps him he ain't going no where. I mean can he even get a job? Doesn't even have a postal address or clothes. Look at his hair. Who will hire a guy who looks like that? Someone could but the question is not many. The severity of his circumstances shouldn't be underestimated. He is acting cool and chill but its actually a lot worse than he sounds but he's a tough guy and can handle it without breaking. He must if he wishes to survive. People just don't give a fuck these days. Kinda sad.
I hope you at least gave him some money for a meal that day poor guy I lost my parents at 19 and I have 4 younger siblings and if it hadn't been for my church friends we could have ended up on the streets as well life is hard
We shouldn't judge anyone. You don't know what that persons been through or going through. It takes a person to dig deep to have to beg. Believe me, I don't think that's his first choice or what he intended for his life. Life can be pretty hard and anyone can get to that point . And even if he was high, wouldn't you want something to numb the pain and hopelessness . The dude is still a human being with a heart, soul, and mind. It's to bad. We should lift one another up , not kick him when he's down.
I don't know how many peoples has watched the old thing but he said something very special at the very end. As long you have a cube around you, a roof, a floor and 4 walls, you can build something on it. This is so real, so grounded.
i was homeless when i was 17-18 but i had a job. some days i could afford a shitty motel room(which is not cheap 50 a day), sometimes i didnt sleep unless i was early for work and napped in my breakroom other than that i slept through my classes in highschool that didnt really matter (theater class, free period) unfortunately i was abandoned by my family, completly estranged. i understand what he means by saying it sucks when you have no family to run to. i eventually got a job in an expensive restaurant and was able to save my tips for an apartment which in LA is like 2000 for a shitty place wih deposit. it was very hard and i was only able to do it with tips. id say if i were to compare the tips i made to an hourly wage itd be around $25-$30 an hour. so honestly i dont think raising the minimum wage to 15 is gonna get somebody off their feet, i think they could survive off of it but it takes so much more money to build the foundation for everything.
+Pony Peanuts thank you I appreciate that, I am very lucky that I am doing better at least financially it's been a few years since then. I just really hope more people like this man can overcome similar ruts like
+Nicholas Warner I agree. I do believe it's more of a housing issue with unfair increasing rents and gentrification. Just north of me in San Fransisco the minimum wage is $15/hr but it doesn't mean shit :( you could make $2500 a month but when it comes to rent it dosnt mean crap when it's 3000 for a crap 2 bedroom in the dumps.
I used to give money to give 20 bucks to anyone on the street that told me a sad story. Then the other day I found an RV guy that was homeless at one time .....here is the young man talking in a video. ua-cam.com/video/GoKn7mBz_bs/v-deo.html
I can assure you you would not want to be homeless for one day. It is a constant fear of being arrested and put in jail for no reason. You don't know where your next meal is coming from or when you will get to eat again. The public don't care for homeless people and if you don't want to get cussed out a lot of times it is better not to speak to them unless they speak first. There is a lot of good people but not everyone is.
Ashlie Almond Imagine if he cleaned up, neatly shaved, and fixed his hair up a bit. He'd be even more handsome. I really wonder where he is right now......shame there's NO WAY to get an update on him. Hopefully he's okay and doing better
goPlay I expected people would say negative things about me and make assumptions.....I don't lol we live in a very superficial world.....I've seen comments where someone will call a "not so attractive" person cute and get negative comments thrown at them. People are cruel, especially on the internet....their true colors show behind a computer screen.
DesignzRUs1 I agree and I am one to suffer from this superficiality. I try not to get mad because it only seems to hurt me and people close to me. The world could be such a better place, but many (it seems to be somehow mainstream) fall into intellectual laziness and are superficial and two-faced. I have concluded that it's better not to try to tell them about it, they will make me a punching bag and take out all their frustrations and I am left paying for their stupidity, being miserable on their behalf, and wondering why I didn't take advantage of them instead. Anyway, enough said. That is one way to look at it, but I sure hope that I'm wrong. I'm not perfect at all, so I can't talk too much, really. I'm weak sometimes. I'm not intellectually lazy at all, I can't stop thinking, trying to understand, questioning. But I'm lazy in other ways. Actually I might be guilty of the same when I do judgments.
the thing is with ppl like this guy trying to get a job and he cant is because of his personal appeal, how are you supposed to apply for a job looking good when u lost you job and lost everything, no money no home nothing. theres nothing. so that makes it harder for homless people to apply, because they arnt looking for people like that.
StreetkillnHD ya it's called unemployable. in Boston we have agency that will give ppl nice clothes for interview etc etc basically addressing issue in your comment
He’s blaming it on the economy, but doesn’t mention drug and alcohol abuse? When he lost his job he could have qualified for unemployment insurance for at least 6 months, not to mention SNAP. I don’t believe he just lost his job and ended up on the street.
I agree Pale Zombie life is cruel, many ups and downs. But you gotta fight back, cause if you don't,it's your own fault. You can't place blame on anyone, you did this to yourself. Especially if there's no physical dissability,no mental problems you're not addressing, there's no excuse. Humble yourself, get a job,any job..
There's more to this guys story that what is revealed here. Either a mental health issue or no family support network. Let's assume that he is just lazy. There are plenty of 23 year old university graduates who are lazy and unemployed but very few of them are homeless - because they live at home with their parents or family member. This young man must have ben either abandoned by hims family or just doesn't have any close relatives he can turn to... Very sad but I'm sure there's light at the end of the tunnel for him.
Some people don't have a college education and work at low paying jobs but a least there trying to make living and not feeling sorry for thereself and asking for money like this young man is I wonder where he is today is he working are still looking for hand out in life.
The teeth are the first to go. Drugs and neglect attack them instantly. He says that friends abandoned him. His friends may feel that he abandoned them by not facing up to responsibilities. The grand majority of of homeless people will tell you themselves that they prefer to live that life. And most are into drugs or heavy alcohol.
exactly. did they make mistakes, chances are yes. however they did so in a society that shows far less compassion then it should be. our government should be far better off then they are and by extension its citizens. the term homeless shouldnt equate to what it does.
+Romeo Mungia A million dollars will not really help a homeless person. What they need is real help. A person or institution who care and can help rehabilitate them. Different situations for all homeless people obviously.
+Romeo Mungia Well that sure would be a good way of motivating people to sit on their ass and do nothing all day, just think of it, a world of homeless do nothings, it would be a far left paradise
You all preach physiognomy. If you lived outside you would eventually look like this drugs or no drugs. You would probably have developed some form of PTSD as well. Without access to social programs (if you're young) you probably begin to self medicate in an attempt to cope instead of receiving the psychiatric care you need.
This guy should join the military. Free food and housing plus a paycheck. With a Bachelors degree he could commission and become an officer or enlist at a higher rank.
alexander R No, i am retarded. I was given a test and it showed low IQ. I also have a small dick, ackward social phobia, epilepsy and i am jobless for ten years, but recently my biggest issue is LPR, i can hardly breath. What a life..worth dieing for.
Great job, talking to homeless people is great for them. They are so often shunned by society, many are alone, we who are privileged can't even begin to understand how that is, unless we've been there. May the poor people be showered with blessings at the day when we'll be recompensed for that which we used to do.
SSI?!?! All he needs is a haircut, shower and job! He is not disabled, old or mentally ill to the point he can't work. Entitlement will take you down if you don't get over it.
One big problem to apply for work you need clean appropriate clothes shoes a haircut et al and an address. Wouldn't be able to afford postal box#. Does he have a cell phone. Then if you get a job..how do you work... still sleep on street.
I was homeless in Miami and it BLEW... Constantly wondering where your next meal is, when an IF you're gunna be able to shower that day... The local McDonald's is you next shower... Walking hours and hours your feet totally blistered and in pain aching SO bad... Crying because you don't know why you ended up where you're at... Trying to get money for a bus jus to wander aroun an not even knowing why you ended up goin on the bus in the first place an wasting your money.. It's horrible... Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy...
We need everyone to have jobs that pay a living wage. What needs to happen is the all wages need to pushed up and welfair needs to be ran like a labor pool you show up everyday the citys put you to work fixing roads cleaning streets and helping the local communitys and every month you get your benfits. dont show to work then you cut off we need to wake up thees people didnt want to be homeless but someting happend in there life and instead of helping them thay where tossed aside becuse maybe thay didnt go to collage or got hurt at work or just coulnt find a job in the frist place. Now we as a country need to take a stand against the big corprate entities that run our congress through lobbying the federal reserve bank systems need to be shut down.
well boss you confused socialism with communism too different things and I think we as a people should have all the say when it comes to the spending of our tax dollars that are levied from us and if they would pay a living wages and if you need assistance that as the state puts you too work for you benefits that way it saves our tax dollars on welfare program because it's payed though your labor
+harold veal Unions are what keep people from working a forced minimum wage will put more people out of work and close small businesses -- the major employer of Americans
So here are some thoughts: 1. This guy is high as a kite 2. He is on the street because he doesn't care enough to try and get clean (drugs, not a bath) 3. He is likely to never get the help he needs, because the dumb people will give him money he will spend on drugs, and the smarter people will know better, but nobody will take the effort it would take 24/7 to get him clean, and keep him clean, while helping him get back on his feet. 4. Someone is going to read this and feel insulted that they are in the "dumb people" category, and post a angry response without actually thinking of what they are actually enabling by handing random homeless people money.
smart people wont jump to conclusion that fast, smart people mostly will think, i dont know this guy,i dont know his story,i dont know what happen to him,if im not gonna help him, then shouldnt judge/talk about him, giving away money or what you have doesnt prove you smart or not, parents giveaway their car/bike to their children even before the kid have driving licensed?are they dumb?i dont think so,if you wanna help someone just do it,what they gonna do with that money?it none of your business, yes of course you didnt want to make the money you give to be spend wasteless, but the point is you wanna help him,if he not want to help himself, then its none of your business (sorry for my bad english)
LOL amazing, the excuses people will find for being selfish presumptuous pieces of shit.. I hope to god you get the life you deserve, and trust me on this, out of everyone who saw what kind of person you are, nobody would give you a single penny. Stuck-up little brat.
People that work for money, don't have "extra money". They have exactly what they worked for. People who give you money are not giving you their "extra money" they are giving you some of what they earned. We're talking about the general population here so don't try to spin it and make this about the "rich" people. A lot of the people you see in your daily life that you would call rich worked hard for their money as well. There is only a small percentage that don't fit that bill. The words he was searching for near the end, I would say, are motivation, direction, goals, self worth/esteem, etc.. Or something near to that. Walls a roof and a floor are just false securities. Just look at the foreclosures the US experienced in the last ten years. I think he misunderstood his favorite author, or his favorite author was only looking at it from one perspective. Those things don't make you "safe". If anything safety is a state of mind.
VT does not allow homelessness. They will find you a place to stay (well, sleep), give you old used clothes, minimal sustenance food and.... basics. Homelessness is embarrassing to my "progressive" state. A 300 sq ft MINIMAL NO frills apartment rents from between $700 and $1,200 a month! (BTW: Most Vermonters pay 3/4 (3 weeks pay out of 4) of their part-time - 10-30 hrs a wk - job incomes for housing and over 58% of Vermonters can not AFFORD their own homes!) That said, VT is like Sweden - already absorbed into the globalist Borg and have NO idea they are even there!
***** Wait! There's more! look at the food prices in VT! 2 to 3 times higher than most of the rest of the country! I was told by the "government" it' was because of delivery 'location:" and shipping costs. New Hampshire, right NEXT door is abour 40% CHEAPER! Does THAT sound like anyone's gouging the "system" in VT?? Want proof? Google VT supermarket ads! Even on sale food here is astronomical! Hunger is SO bad in VT they have charity food drives DOOR TO DOOR!
I was homeless in California for about 6 months and am obviously very passionate about it (hence my name) and guys like this disgust me. I slept around guys like this, hung out with guys like this, ate at shelters with guys like this, but I knew they were scumbags the entire time I went through that experience. There is absolutely no reason for anybody to give a homeless person money in California. I was eating better when I was homeless than I am now with a decent job. Shelters, churches, food stamps, general assistance vouchers, bus tokens, and food drives all supplied me with everything I needed. There was no reason for me to have to bother any person walking down the street for a dollar and many of these guys are even on disability making $900 a month and then panhandling on top of that. If someone asks you for dollar in a large city like this, tell them to go to hell because they're doing it for drugs or alcohol.
This guy says he can't claim disability benefits. you have not met him so you can't possibly know whether that's true or not... drug and alcohol addiction is a disease. even if he or any other homeless person does take drugs, why does that make him a scumbag? it makes him a person in a horrible situation who is dependant on an addictive substance which he uses to escape. These people aren't scumbags, they are human beings with less than what you have... even if they have food and free bus travel and the chance to sleep in a shelter sometimes!
Me too... and I agree with that, I will not give a homeless person any cash, something warm to wear, or something practical that they can use... I was asked by a homeless person holding a sign saying" homeless and hungry, can you help." and ask if I had any change to spare! I told him no. but I will go to McDonalds and buy you a value meal if you would like, I was cussed out and told he did not need my sympathy and if I couldn't give him any money, then fuck off. ... And sad to say because of that, I don't help as many homeless people as I used to
I still do my best to help homeless people when I can, but now instead of directly giving them food on the street what I do is I volunteered at church that deliver meals to people in need
It's good people give, because their situation would surely be worse if they didn't. But as he said, it's a temporary fix. Teach a man to fish and all that. There needs to be some non-mandatory vetting system that takes in the homless, tests them for drugs, gives them goals to reach, and reward the best none drug using, none self deprecating homeless people with education & training (you know real prospects). And who knows, if that homeless person gets out of their situation due to such a system, they may even themsevles, help a homless person, sort of starting like a chain reaction.
Rip John damn didn't think watching this would make me sad but it did. Amazing how so many people have such harsh things to say and none of you even knew him. Rip g
One thing that this guy is either lying about or just ignorant of. You can get food stamps pretty easily these days. You can even have a job and get food stamps. To all the people saying all he has to do is clean up and get a job, it's not that easy. I've been homeless a few times and even though I was clean cut and had a job, it wasn't even close to enough money to put a roof over my head. A lot of people are ignorant because they've never experienced the situation and they assume because that they had it relatively easy, that it should be just as easy for everyone else. I've applied for hundreds of jobs and only had maybe 2 or 3 interviews, which I showed up to in a shirt and tie and didn't get those jobs. You can't tell people it's easy if you've never been in their situation. That said, even though I was homeless in the past, I never once asked anyone for money.
SMAAAASHTV let me tell you something friend, i starter working when i was 15 in construction as a framer and our crew did not get paid same as the white crews and we has to work three times as hard because we were immigrants and now i'm 23 with a contractors license and own my own company the problem with todays society is that they expect that the government is going to help them out. back in my dads day people used to rather work for there money than getting handout back when the u.s.a was full of great respectful and proud people.
+SMAAAASHTV l agree with you people talk untill they are in that situation , l know how you feel me and boyfriend moved to los angeles in 2013 with no car no home no job no money to find work in production , because we had no choice because the work was out there even though we had no place to stay my boyfriend 7 days after his 29th birthday got a job with ESPN and l did it all sleeping on the Concrete , so l totally understand how you feel , it was 6 months of hell we didnt move there to work at rite aid. well said smash have a good one
+SMAAAASHTV The real problem is that during the Reagan era they closed down alot of the low income affordable subsidized housing units. Also the cost of living right now is too high for most people to afford even with full time and making 150% of minimum wage in a large city. Its so ridiculous in San Francisco that you have to make at least 80k per year to afford to live in a studio. I know the market determines the cost of living but the wage to cost of living ratio is getting ridiculous and it won't change until there is a worker uprising.
Yeah, and I don't live far from Vernon, CT either. This is an old clip from 2009 so I'm wondering how he's doing today. Is there any update about this guy?
The problem is that kids don't know what perseverance is anymore, even as a kid I was hustling jobs left and right and that was in the economically depressed central valley of California, trick is, you can't give up. This dude has given up and simply makes excuses, end of story.
You sound a decent amount older than this man in the video, times are different, you can't judge a person based on your own experiences in life, especially when those experiences don't represent the present day in time we live in, as it's clear you haven't been a kid for some time now. I don't get why people like you bring up this " back in my day " bullshit, it isn't " your day " anymore, when you live in the past you have no possible chance of helping the future for anyone, not this man, and especially yourself.
Goephuk Yerself Thank you for making my point for me, excuses piled on top of excuses coupled with a victim mentallity. Things haven't changed at all fundamentally. I heard the EXACT same excuses back when i was a working kid in the 80's, I graduated high school in 90. The only thing that has changed is that the new generations are just flat out weak minded pussies who no long think for themselves or understand concepts of perserverance and a "can do at all costs" attitude. So this really isn't a "back in my day" story, moreover its a, the more things change the more they stay the same. This dude is NO different than the others I've run across that end up penniless and pathetic, it's all about attitude and what you are willing to sacrifice to NOT be that way, end of story
While i wouldnt do or have done a degree in English literature, no degree guarantees you a job. Even computer science isnt a guarante you also get pepole with discalculus or someone i tutored who strugled with the way mathmatics was taught to them in there education but progresed fast with more talored learning. Most of us from my graduating year have had to do further study of some kind to train for something specific after haveing done a degree. If it's government funded that's not so bad but normally its not funded. I did a physics degree and still found it tough to find work after. I know some very bright pepole in stem subjects now watresing part time or unemployed or doing further study very few walk into a job right after and theres a lot of luck involved as well as rigorasly hard work, It takes time and resorces to build up the skills and knolage to make you employable iv been teaching my self to develope software, maintain databases use vertion control on git and a number of other development skills witch a year on now gets more intrest and interviews than my degree but i still needed wifi elcetronics and not to have to worry about my next meal to give me the freedom to work on it and i have been know to just compleatly miss out a nights sleep so i could keep working on something witch i know isn't good for my health.
Judge others and you will be Judged, lets all pray with the heart open that all the good fortune and luck will come to this guy , we are one Humanity so lets act like one.
I don't understand why the hell she is filming him. I mean if you're going to help I can understand that but why try to make a video so you can get UA-cam videos. This woman is very narcissistic! Very bad stance! She needs a life! Hate this!
That's the whole purpose of the PRESS you idiot, to spread the news in a situation on what's really happening out there to bring into viewers attention.
mann guy seams soo nice,,,damn bless him, I know hes good, hes got a good head, kinda tearing up watching this . I do have people that can support me and do have a home, this sucks dude..moving to north cali in a few day actually taking a road tip from Baltimore, this guy made me feel a bit better about my journey with his last quote, you do need something in this world to bring up up, i was don't for a long time, got cheated on by my ex of 3 years she left me for my cousin, went though an entie year of isolation and self loathing and now it looks like I have some light at the end of my tunnel I we need is love man
Heartwrenching video. Good insight into this guy's plight. I think you make the viewer' of your video more understanding, maybe more caring. thx good job
Just gonna go ahead an keep posting this... May god bless anyones soul tht mayb sleeping outside tonight. And if u are and ur reading this comment keep fighting..
There are some significant substances inside this man. It's not just the economy or being laid off due to lack of seniority or that his friends abandoned him.
I was homeless for 2 years with 3 kids.......living in my car....working .......finally I landed a second job and got into a home! But good luck to you!
HEAR THE TRUTH ABOUT CALI FACES ua-cam.com/video/-CI7uKNUk9M/v-deo.html

+Pete Hudo Its tough to help homeless, because they sick in the head. You can't help people that doesn't want to help themselves.
*****
Your right , the best way to help out the homeless is to ignore them. Now that's compassion.
+Alejandro Rodriguez, I think that is something we tell ourselves...they grow comfortable with it and they need help and time relearning or just learning how to manage life. They have to rebuild real belief in themselves....more failure is a killer.

Amen. These "people" are disgusting and heartless
I hope you are working somewhere now and having a better life, brother
It´s impossible for a homeless to get a job, because no one would give job to a homeless guy.
@@dimitryscoarta9964 His hair indicates he's not looking for a job.
Then the other day I found an RV guy that was homeless at one time .....here is the young man talking in a video.
ua-cam.com/video/GoKn7mBz_bs/v-deo.html
don’t judge homeless people unless you find them trying to break into your vehicle toolbox and steal your livelihood to buy smack or rock.
you can see this guy is a sweet heart. he has very kind demeanor
+ betaffs
You're the 1st one with an intelligent and correct answer.
Blaming the government and other people for his predicament is not going to help.
betaffs or they are homeless because their on drugs get it strsight
Charles Moore no it’s because they are on drugs that they become homeless stop being an enabler.
Tell me. What is his chance?
I know....easier said than done
I am praying for this young man I am 24 yrs old and this could have easily been me. This just gave me more to be grateful for.
Well Mr Fanatic we all know that prayer thing does not work.
he missed the bus three times to give this interview. respect
This just broke my heart people are very evil. that's why if an asteroid hit this planet Humanity deserves it
If only we could be that lucky!
It has in a way it's a pandemic 2020
@@holliss5 very true😒
i was homeless when i was 17-18 but i had a job. some days i could afford a shitty motel room(which is not cheap 50 a day), sometimes i didnt sleep unless i was early for work and napped in my breakroom other than that i slept through my classes in highschool that didnt really matter (theater class, free period) unfortunately i was abandoned by my family, completly estranged. i understand what he means by saying it sucks when you have no family to run to. i eventually got a job in an expensive restaurant and was able to save my tips for an apartment which in LA is like 2000 for a shitty place wih deposit. it was very hard and i was only able to do it with tips. id say if i were to compare the tips i made to an hourly wage itd be around $25-$30 an hour. so honestly i dont think raising the minimum wage to 15 is gonna get somebody off their feet, i think they could survive off of it but it takes so much more money to build the foundation for everything.
Just north of me in San Fransisco the minimum wage is $15/hr but it doesn't mean shit :( you could make $2500 a month but when it comes to rent it dosnt mean crap when it's 3000 for a crap 2 bedroom in the dumps.

manic depression is a frustrating mess
you can tell hes genuine ,hs reaslly adorable and sweet i hope hes ok
i would really like to know where he is now.. I hope he's doing better..

I totally thought that at first too, his voice threw me off a lot though haha
He does kind of
Foxsye _ actually more like a homeless Jared Leto
Peace Dweller Yeah, more on point
+FOLFSQUAD _ No, both of you look like a homeless Kurt Cobain.
Someone somewhere loves & misses him!
HE LOOKS LIKE KURT COBAIN
He was sent to California, dont be fooled. Cartman is to blame..

Studio Illegal fuk u this hell isn't a joke
Studio Illegal you be surprised if your lucky one friend will stand by u
I know this is a very late response...but What do you expect a friend to do if you're homeless?
I can assure you you would not want to be homeless for one day. It is a constant fear of being arrested and put in jail for no reason. You don't know where your next meal is coming from or when you will get to eat again. The public don't care for homeless people and if you don't want to get cussed out a lot of times it is better not to speak to them unless they speak first. There is a lot of good people but not everyone is.
Dat quote dis man gave at the end about the 4 walls was really inspiring i wont forget it and i hope life gets better
The US Military is waiting for him. No reason to be 23 and homeless.
Oh yeah, because killing innocent people all over the world as an American soldier is really the best solution to this guy's problem.
HellaPerformance
I seriously doubt that they would accept him.
Exactly 😂 this was over 10yrs ago
The lack of empathy in some of these comments is DISGUSTING! There by the grace of God go one of us.
I totally agree with you.
People are mean af SMH
so did you end up helping him or not?
I'm in Tampa FL and yesssssssssssssesss it here everyday.....
Judge me all you want but I find him very handsome and attractive. He seems to have a good soul....also his eyes are to die for 😊
I agree
Ashlie Almond Imagine if he cleaned up, neatly shaved, and fixed his hair up a bit. He'd be even more handsome. I really wonder where he is right now......shame there's NO WAY to get an update on him. Hopefully he's okay and doing better
Who's gonna judge you for thinking well about another human being?
goPlay I expected people would say negative things about me and make assumptions.....I don't lol we live in a very superficial world.....I've seen comments where someone will call a "not so attractive" person cute and get negative comments thrown at them.
I hope his life has gotten better..
Same here
government doesn't care about anyone anymore it's all about power more power...
Amazing video... but please, please, PLEASE: Stop with the zooming in and out, and try to find somewhere more quiet to record...
Why are you guys some mean to others.......instead of a bad commet I will pray
Best kid ever 👊
Young lady has a great heart, compassion for her fellow man/woman. If we had more people like her around then being homeless wouldn't be so bad 😊😋🙂😉😔
I hope he gets out of this he seems smart
There's more to this guys story that what is revealed here. Either a mental health issue or no family support network. Let's assume that he is just lazy. There are plenty of 23 year old university graduates who are lazy and unemployed but very few of them are homeless - because they live at home with their parents or family member. This young man must have ben either abandoned by hims family or just doesn't have any close relatives he can turn to... Very sad but I'm sure there's light at the end of the tunnel for him.
+Matt Stocks He said he didn't have parents.
He is orginally from Connecticut...parents dead. So even if he has other relatives he'd need few hundred dollars just to get back there.
And most are into drugs or heavy alcohol.
exactly. did they make mistakes, chances are yes. however they did so in a society that shows far less compassion then it should be. our government should be far better off then they are and by extension its citizens. the term homeless shouldnt equate to what it does.
his friends feel like they abandoned them bc of responsibilities? WTF stop talking shit
Dude seems so positive, hope he gets back on his feet
I feel bad for homeless I wish I could give each homeless human million dollars
+Romeo Mungia Since you can't, give them each one cigarette.
+Romeo Mungia They gonna spend that million dollars and be homeless again.
@@nict667 yeah i'm sure they wouldn't buy a house.
You all preach physiognomy. If you lived outside you would eventually look like this drugs or no drugs. You would probably have developed some form of PTSD as well. Without access to social programs (if you're young) you probably begin to self medicate in an attempt to cope instead of receiving the psychiatric care you need.
It's a vicious cycle
This guy should join the military. Free food and housing plus a paycheck. With a Bachelors degree he could commission and become an officer or enlist at a higher rank.
slave food, fuck the military

i would rather be homeless than being a meat shield for the government in their bullshit wars
@Linux Larsson .. well said.
The sound of the traffic passing by was relaxing
Great job, talking to homeless people is great for them. They are so often shunned by society, many are alone, we who are privileged can't even begin to understand how that is, unless we've been there.
May the poor people be showered with blessings at the day when we'll be recompensed for that which we used to do.

May Yah bless this young man xx
i don't get it. why don't poor people just buy more money?
That guy is 23? He looks 33..
53 at most
I was homeless and on heroin. This guy makes lots of excuses to not work.
where's your proof.
Shut your ass, you don't even know ya disrespectful piece of trash.

One big problem to apply for work you need clean appropriate clothes shoes a haircut et al and an address. Wouldn't be able to afford postal box#. Does he have a cell phone. Then if you get a job..how do you work... still sleep on street.

Harold veal go live in a communist country with those ideas
well boss you confused socialism with communism too different things and I think we as a people should have all the say when it comes to the spending of our tax dollars that are levied from us and if they would pay a living wages and if you need assistance that as the state puts you too work for you benefits that way it saves our tax dollars on welfare program because it's payed though your labor
+harold veal Unions are what keep people from working a forced minimum wage will put more people out of work and close small businesses -- the major employer of Americans
So here are some thoughts:
1. This guy is high as a kite
2. He is on the street because he doesn't care enough to try and get clean (drugs, not a bath)
3. He is likely to never get the help he needs, because the dumb people will give him money he will spend on drugs, and the smarter people will know better, but nobody will take the effort it would take 24/7 to get him clean, and keep him clean, while helping him get back on his feet.
4. Someone is going to read this and feel insulted that they are in the "dumb people" category, and post a angry response without actually thinking of what they are actually enabling by handing random homeless people money.
fail.... no one cares what you think obviously but thanks for the lol
hahah yea i cried reading this lol
You don't know anything about this man yet you make wild assumptions about him and try to act like you know his life's story.
smart people wont jump to conclusion that fast, smart people mostly will think, i dont know this guy,i dont know his story,i dont know what happen to him,if im not gonna help him, then shouldnt judge/talk about him, giving away money or what you have doesnt prove you smart or not, parents giveaway their car/bike to their children even before the kid have driving licensed?are they dumb?i dont think so,if you wanna help someone just do it,what they gonna do with that money?it none of your business, yes of course you didnt want to make the money you give to be spend wasteless, but the point is you wanna help him,if he not want to help himself, then its none of your business (sorry for my bad english)
If anything safety is a state of mind.
a lot of people think they are "working hard" and have very easy jobs they don't deserve yet are allowed to keep and think they deserve.
God bless him. I'm from Connecticut
(BTW: Most Vermonters pay 3/4 (3 weeks pay out of 4) of their part-time - 10-30 hrs a wk - job incomes for housing and over 58% of Vermonters can not AFFORD their own homes!)
That said, VT is like Sweden - already absorbed into the globalist Borg and have NO idea they are even there!
That's shocking and if that's true, then I have no respect for Senator Bernie Sanders who always advocates for the poor.
*****
Wait!
Often the money they get is spent on drugs &/or beer. So i give them food & clothing
Me too... and I agree with that, I will not give a homeless person any cash, something warm to wear, or something practical that they can use...
I deliver meals every Easter Thanksgiving and Christmas and I find it quite rewarding
Helping people... it's a good thing.
I want to hug him.
The story ended up like she helped him and he is right now her bf and living together as a couple..believe or not!
I guess when you can't wash your hair every day it starts to dread up and you just decide that you might as well dread the rest of it.
Rip John damn didn't think watching this would make me sad but it did. Amazing how so many people have such harsh things to say and none of you even knew him. Rip g
That really sucks, I’m sorry to hear he passed away. He seemed like a really cool guy. :(
becauseof culture in America when you reached 18 and above parents are stop supporting...
SMAAAASHTV laws changed, young with no cjildren, not gualify.
SMAAAASHTV If he doesn’t have an address, no he can’t get food stamps!!
If everybody that saw this video had given 1 dollar to this guy he would be a millionaire.
That's the reasoning most panhandlers have.

why did he go to Santa Cruz in the first place?
Yeah, and I don't live far from Vernon, CT either. This is an old clip from 2009 so I'm wondering how he's doing today. Is there any update about this guy?
right? *****
I know it is. But he just screwed himself over even more by going there.
Mike Cid Might as well its not like hes got any place to be.
The problem is that kids don't know what perseverance is anymore, even as a kid I was hustling jobs left and right and that was in the economically depressed central valley of California, trick is, you can't give up. This dude has given up and simply makes excuses, end of story.
bump
+Joachim Peiper your parents thought the same shit about your generation. You're grandparents about your parents' generation too
+Joachim Peiper "End of story", Oh go fuck yourself, thinking you know everything.
You have a degree in English Literature - THATS WHERE YOU FUCKED UP
While i wouldnt do or have done a degree in English literature, no degree guarantees you a job.
I know some very bright pepole in stem subjects now watresing part time or unemployed or doing further study very few walk into a job right after and theres a lot of luck involved as well as rigorasly hard work,
It takes time and resorces to build up the skills and knolage to make you employable iv been teaching my self to develope software, maintain databases use vertion control on git and a number of other development skills witch a year on now gets more intrest and interviews than my degree but i still needed wifi elcetronics and not to have to worry about my next meal to give me the freedom to work on it and i have been know to just compleatly miss out a nights sleep so i could keep working on something witch i know isn't good for my health.
robuzy lmfaoooo
Judge others and you will be Judged, lets all pray with the heart open that all the good fortune and luck will come to this guy , we are one Humanity so lets act like one.
I don't understand why the hell she is filming him. I mean if you're going to help I can understand that but why try to make a video so you can get UA-cam videos. This woman is very narcissistic! Very bad stance! She needs a life! Hate this!
.
***** is that you?
That's the whole purpose of the PRESS you idiot, to spread the news in a situation on what's really happening out there to bring into viewers attention.
+Bongo B She is filming so we get a bit of an insight on homelessness. The word "narcissist" is thrown around way too much nowadays.
and what has she done to help him? seems like she just made a vid for views
That's how girls and women are in life, everything is all about them

so sad and there are so many things that this young man could do if only given the chance. Thanks for the great video.
Aw :/ I hope he finds a good positive way for himself, and a good safe home
There are some significant substances inside this man. It's not just the economy or being laid off due to lack of seniority or that his friends abandoned him.
wish u best bro hope everything is going better for u
Wow my friends and family have never been homeless as long as I'm alive and able to help them, to help themselves.
beautifull girl doing beautifull works..
California is a paradise if you're young, rich and healthy. If you don't have money though, get ready....it is BRUTAL.
God bless them all

God bless him and he is sooooo cute. Poor dude.
I was homeless for 2 years with 3 kids.......living in my car....working .......finally I landed a second job and got into a home! But good luck to you!
I really like(love) this young man. He is intelligent, educated, too. Has a college degree; and seems to understand the situation he and we are in.
