- Thunderstorms Wind Rain on Skid Row Homeless Encampments Downtown Los Angeles. Walk with me thru the heart of skid row as the homeless people seek shelter form the storms. Its a hard life here on skid row but unexpected storms make matters worse with wet clothing blankets soaked and hard to dry out clothing after a storm. High Winds and heavy rains make it difficult. Also we have storm rats that do not like the rain and they come out during the heavy rains.
**Skid Row**, officially known as **Central City East**, is a neighborhood in **Downtown Los Angeles**. It's a district with a long history and notable characteristics:

The population increased by **13%* after the COVID-19 pandemic, but exact estimates are not available⁵.

IMHO as a native San Franciscan who has lived alongside homeless for my entire lifetime, it’s alcohol and drug addictions that are the root cause. Treat the addiction and you end homelessness. It’s NOT about a lack of affordable housing in CA. That’s a lie.
Everyone without kids chooses to be homeless. It is a choice. Anyone that wants to works can get a job easily. Get a roommate and with both working just move a few miles further away for cheaper rent.

Drugs are plentiful here on skid row and they are using in groups next to the police station in broad daylight!

These people , it's about time they are held accountable, they are breaking the law and almost paid todo so in some cases, Their Drugs, Vagrancy, Thefts Blocking sidewalks, time for jail time and Chain Gangs to clean up their own messes,, a majority of them are not looking for work nor will they take a job so pain and punishment needs to sink in on them. This is the City's ,Local and Federal Government's fault and it must stop.

Drugs are everywhere here on skid row it used to be more normal now it’s just drug use in the open on every corner.

@@robinb.4699 I do not make enough money in fact losing money in equipment ect but I am shaming the government to take action so it works? Universal Studios forced the city to clean up a parking area because the exposure of the videos so it helps to showcase the incompetence of the city. Only now they are starting to move people and attempting to clean e cause of it’s election time but is always goes back to usual after elections.

What is really sad is we've got all these migrants coming in and they are getting treated better than the homeless. The homeless needs a drug program. Homeless need a mental health program so they can get these people off the street. Somehow they got to teach these people. They can't just throw their trash everywhere and they can't go potty everywhere. We don't live like that in the USA. Right now it's hard to say what is the right thing. We are so messed up with all these migrants. And one super great president!. I feel bad for Los Angeles . I feel bad for San Francisco. They're a couple places I really love to go to visit. Right now I wouldn't even dare. I'm so sorry you have to deal with this mess. I'm sure a lot of the homeless are next to people's homes. They have to put up at the trash the noise.
