When it comes to acoustic guitars, Alvarez is king in my book. I have the MD60BG and its the best guitar i ever played and i buy guitars all the time. You can tell that man is passionate about everything related to acoustics and hes not just a face for the companies but very hands-on. These guys know what they are talking about. They truly found a way to make great acoustics at a resonable price.

@@AlvarezGuitarsOfficial No problems guys, a video comparing the BG model with the 12 frets slope shoulder would be great! Like a well recorded side by side comparasion.

Bought myself a MD60BG last week. i tried so many acoustics in the shop and the MD60BG just blew the others out of the park, even the ones that cost a few hundred pounds more. i will admit i wasn't 100% into the v shaped neck at first but the sound was the ultimate decider, also the guitar looked so clean! now that i'm used to the neck shape i've really grown to love it, not to mention i can't put the guitar down. Great job guys, love the videos you are putting out and the guitars you're building.

Really nice that the boss is a “guitar guy” and not a “Wharton School of Business” / bean counter guy! Have just ordered an 8 string GA, sight unseen, to keep my RainSong jumbo company… a big part of that decision was the videos with Mr. Meikle. His passion and expertise are obvious. I know that he wouldn’t sell me a guitar that didn’t sound great!

Thank you very much, Jed, for your kind words. We are truly passionate about the guitars we make and are excited you've got an 8-string coming your way! Let us know how you like it, it really is a fun guitar to play. 👍

@@AlvarezGuitarsOfficial I will sure let you know! I am going to try it first with double octaves, instead of octaves above fundamental D & G strings….kind of a “half Nashville” tuning. That will enhance the shimmer, and (hopefully) really make it sound like a 12 string! Can’t wait to get it!

Very informative video. I would like to see the difference in tone before and after the clearcoat finish is applied. Many people believe that the thick finish dampens the tone on Asian made instruments, now that would be interesting.

I love it just a couple guys listening to an ol master discussing tone bars whilst stoned out of his noggin.

I think you guys would sell to beginning guitar players more if the fretboard had dots again. Great guitars though.

The Regent Series (their beginner's line) do have dot markers on the fretboard. I used to be somebody who preferred dot markers on the fretboard, but having the dot markers on the side of the neck is good enough for me since we shouldn't be leaned way over looking at our fretboard all of the time. I also think it looks cool with the single emblem at the 12th fret. I understand what you mean for beginners though, and I believe that must be their logic as well since the Regent Series does have the dot markers you mentioned. 🙂👍

Thanks very much for your thoughts on this, and as J mentioned for beginners this is certainly our consideration adding fingerboard dots to our Regent Series. As we all progress as players and don’t lean the guitar toward us as much, the side dots in the neck binding seem to do the job. We do love the clean look of a dotless fretboard.
