What an epic trip guys! Loved every second of it. Honestly this channel has become my favorite one on youtube in such a short time. You're such a humble and nice person and its always a stress relief watching your videos mate. Thank you for that! Greetings from Austria 🇦🇹
4:14 Seeing the Fin which is slightly forked, its more likely an atlantic salmon but it also might be a browntrout - which, when are locked in proper lakes "turn" into lake trouts - still staying the same species " Salmo trutta fario" but adapting their lifestyle to the circumstances and morphologically adapt as well. They change their phenotype due to the circumstances. My bet is on the Salmon tho, the tailfin is more square on a browntrout. - great video btw
On ya lads! That first nights feast actually looked bloody delicious! Nice work. That mountain culture IPA is real good too. Love ‘em. Unlucky bout the fish Zander 😂😂 Great vid mate! What a lake!
Hi mate, ive been fishing there for 30+ plus. Youre first camp spot is my favourite of all, lots of deer up through there. Possibility of a water rat taking your trout off the island or a murray cray. Keep the great work coming.
grab a plate and flip the rosti by putting the plate on top of the fry pan and then turning them over. then simply slide the rosti off the plate back into the pan.
Good on you both. I love watching your vids so peaceful so well put together. Very relaxing. You remind us how connected we should be to nature. Stay safe.
Use the loop function on your camera so you don't loose unexpected events. Just leave it running and then push the play button when you want to keep the last 5 minutes. I plug mine into external battery or power supply when I do it... Great video.. thank you.
Hey Scotty (and xander) 👋 Really great spot and video as always 😊. Good having a camping buddy especially when you lose a paddle lol. Have a blessed week 🙏
Love your work keep up the awesome filming. If you get small redies like that just gut them and cook them on a bed of coals when thier cooked peel the skin back and enjoy. And try cooking your trout wrapped in aluminium foil with a peeled banana in the gut cavity sprinkle pepper and salt. If you fold the foil over and roll all the sides in very tight when it puffs up like a pillow its perfectly cooked
I’ve said it before but you are so blessed with a choice of places to go. It was fun to watch you with your UA-camr buddy Zander. Take care, be safe. ❤ Dorset, UK
Hey Scotty, that was a resident Brown trout or lake brown. They're more silver because they usually sit lower. Cracking fish and great video. Gorgeous spot.
Loved seeing Zander rocking the crocs and bringing a harmonica along. What a character! Great video Scotty, that first trout was a whopper ... I hear the tassie devils are meant to be good on open waters like lakes as well.
A one dollar canoe! Now there's a bargain! Great canoe, camping/fishing trip. Your island did shrink a bit, but you didn't get totally flooded out. Nice adventure for you and Zander. HooRoo!
That's a salmon !! Atlantic salmon maybe brown .... although the head and silver of the fish closer to salmon ! Only a handful of lakes and rivers they stock them !! Scotty is from the shire !mate you find wind lanes on the lanes as it offers the fish protection it's where they feed ! Glass is no good in the water ! Legend !!😊
OK! By gosh, I am going to start eating my kiwi with the skin on! Never knew that was an option at all! Live and learn! It's never to late to learn something new, even when just being an armchair camper. Love your works! Keep it up! Glad that Zander turned out to be a good dude. Will for sure check out his channel.
It’s a silvery brown, you only catch atlantics in Jindabyne, Gaden trout hatchery release a few into it. Easy way to pick the species. Rainbow trout have spots on their tails, Brown trout only have spots on their sides not on their tails.
Wonderful video. It's a great one. When I started it last night, and saw the gorgeous trout I was quite envious!. BTW, butter has a tendency to burn fast, oil or ghee, not so much. Still I love that you use a lot of butter! Cheers.
I was invited to go camping by a fella I met only once before. He said there would be some drinking, some fighting, and some rooting. This sounded ok, so I asked who was going? He replied, Oh, just you and me 😬!!
Another great video brotha😎👍 and by the way, i was shock to see that you caught a landlock Atlantic Salmon, hell didnt know they exist in down under. Anyway i caught them in New York, mostly in lakes and streams. The shape of the head and tail is a dead give away… rooster tail works great, fluorescent pink, orange and green work’s excellent, 1/16 to 1/8 oz. Works well at slow retrieve, just let it sink close to the bottom, then whip to activate the blade and retrieve… keep those video coming Bro, and be safe. God Bless…
Great video Scott. Zander seems like a good mate to go on excursions with with his $1 canoe haha.. he got a bargin there .. beautiful scenery...good times...take care.. much respect from Canada ✌️
I was going to say more closely resembles a Landlocked Salmon. But a good catch and dinner regardless! Awesome trip and love the videos. Some of the best trips I have been on have involved meeting new people and taking the leap lol. Some of the places you are able to visit are absolutely killer. If you ever want to drag an American through the sand give me a shout hah.
I'm assuming your camping at khancoban, talbingo reservoir or blowering maybe. All those snowy dams rise and fall according to the pumping between the dams. Definitely gotta be real careful where you set up your camp! 😅
Thanks for another groovy adventure and well executed masterpiece mate!! What a buy form Zander and great to see your hard work and long planning of your Walkabout swag!! Keep smashing it up Scotty and always love your content champion!! Yewwwww!!! -Liam 🇦🇺 🤙🏿🤙🏿
Great trip. My partner tells me your first fish was an atlantic salmon and Khancoban Poundage only lake system you can catch them in. Is the misspelling of cocktails a creative decision?
What a beautiful spot. That island would have been a wicked camp for sure. As for Zander & the Canoe I would suggest sitting more towards the middle, I think it would be easier to control in the wind.
👍👍- grate the raw potato, dry it between paper towels, cook between fresh paper towels for 1 min in the microwave, throw in a ziplock bag- then cook as you did at camp.
Lovely video fellas, fanatic fish too Scotty, it’s been fun watching you improve your fishing game, I’m hanging out for the day your cooking game improves similarly 😂

Fantastic 👏👏👏
Hit up Xander Budnick. He would love to come to Australia to do a trip with you. He mentioned you in one of his videos. 🌞🌅🛶
How is that dude. Random youtuber
Epic trip mate. Good to relive it and from your perspective. Some really beautiful shots in there. Looking forward to the next one!!!
Loved the harmonica!
@@YonderingYowies it’s not a harmonica is a cocktail calling device
@@zander_williment sounds fancy, did you pick that one up for a dollar too?
@@YonderingYowies nah harmonica is probs worth 40x as much as my canoe haha
Was the auction an online bid or in person ?
What an epic trip guys! Loved every second of it.

Very interesting. Thanks for that mate.
Doesn't look anything like a rainbow that's for sure

Good idea.
22:20 a redfin, that's a aborre in Sweden,.found in lakes and sea around most of the country. :).not in the mountains though.
Awesome trip mate, love ya work👍 reddies are good eating if you can get around the bones on the lil ones.
Good on you both. I love watching your vids so peaceful so well put together. Very relaxing. You remind us how connected we should be to nature. Stay safe.

I am so lucky to live near this lake and have been meaning to take the kayak out on the water and still haven’t. Will have to change that.

Thanks for another video!
that was a nice spot to camp, great stuff thanks
Awesome video! Looks like that one is a Brown Trout or maybe some type of hybrid. Great fish!
Beautiful lake! Envy you!
Love your films Scotty. You obviously put everything into them. Even the kitchen sink. LOL. How the hell did that get there?
My favourite video from you so far mate,, i really enjoyed watching, thanks mate. keep them coming,
Great video. Love it. I believe it is a brown trout.
Remote projects bag? I use mine as a gym bag love it.
Island camp had everything. Was that a kitchen sink?
Great vid! A few more fish in the net would've been good. what was the song at the end? cheers
That rosti looks like mine turn out. I call them bubble & squeak! 😂
Great upload. Enjoyed every second. Thanks

Look into getting a paddle leash though 😂.
Great backyard mate.

Great, I wish you success
Inspiring video. Cheers from the 🇺🇸
Good luck with your Travels and stay Safe mate.
Yo Scotty, if you turn your etherlite pump sack inside out you can use the smaller connector on the inside to inflate your aeros pillow😊
Scotty is back! top video mate
You could eat salted cardboard in the bush next to a campfire and it works taste great.
Hey Scotty, if ya want another cocktail to try whilst camping, try a clover club
Good to see you again, always excited to share with my grandfather
Great trip. My partner tells me your first fish was an atlantic salmon and Khancoban Poundage only lake system you can catch them in.
Is the misspelling of cocktails a creative decision?
What a wonderful place
00:07:48 the UA-cam video you watched wasn't Mattsy's last one was it? 😜
Those hill billy frying pans are mint I have one and they are high Quality
This was really cool. Cheers!
Nice work. That was a brown trout everyday of the week!
Absolutely love your content ❤ And Xander was Nice too 😊
Greetings Zander from Canada! Enjoyed this trip with the new bloke 🙂 hopefully you guys can do it again sometime.
So awesome! Love it!❤✌🏼
Another epic trip! Thank you for sharing your awesome content!!
That looks like what we call in the uk a sea trout.
Definitely looked like a salmon. Silver with dark spots, jaw hinge stops no further back than the eye and notched or “V” shape tail. Good score!
What a beautiful spot. That island would have been a wicked camp for sure. As for Zander & the Canoe I would suggest sitting more towards the middle, I think it would be easier to control in the wind.
Yeah I said the same thing to him, but I don't think there is a seat in the middle.
@@ScottysGoneWalkabout Well that makes it a little more difficult. For $1 though he has some money left for some small modifications lol.
Entertaining video.
Beautiful Video, Which alpine lake were you on, love to go camping there for a few days.
Hopefully you tell me, l would really appreciate it. Thanks
👍👍- grate the raw potato, dry it between paper towels, cook between fresh paper towels for 1 min in the microwave, throw in a ziplock bag- then cook as you did at camp.
Good idea. I'll try that. Thanks
I love those whiskey apples from blind bear ….. up up Cronulla
So good ay.
I enjoyed that, very relaxing, beautiful scenery, bird life and…….two piss ups lol 😂
The stuff dreams are made of! Epic little island camp! Thanks for sharing.🍻
Great vid Scotty, love your work, awesome as always, cheers
Lovely video fellas, fanatic fish too Scotty, it’s been fun watching you improve your fishing game, I’m hanging out for the day your cooking game improves similarly 😂
