Just came out of a 16 hour power blackout here in outback North Queensland, temperature is 39 degrees, no internet or phone, and a cyclone has us lined up aswell when BANGO! Power is on, phone and internet is back up! AND...SCOTTY HAS UPLOADED!🕺💃🕺💃 Life is good!👍
Good luck up there.
Hope you got through all that, safe n sound 🥰
The 2 of you make great entertaining videos that bring smiles and also show a very different perspective. Thanks
So glad you brougth Ned Flanders along for the ride
Wow, that was tough. Hope the ankle and the stitches are all well recovered!
I was with a group in the Blue Mountains once, we made a long steep walk down the escarpment into the valley, to go swimming in a 'secret' waterhole. As expected, there was no-one else in this isolated gully when we arrived. We stripped off for a swim, and hadn't been there 15 minutes when one of our group slipped over on a slimy rock and hurt her ankle. It swelled up straight away and she couldnt put any weight on it. She was in a fair bit of pain and we feared it was broken. 40 years ago there weren't any satellite phones. The track out was so steep and narrow that carrying her was nearly impossible. In the end she sort of hopped all the way up the track on one leg, hanging on to 2 sets of shoulders. We weren't sure we could even get her to the top, but we did; once there, our cars were at hand and everything got sorted.
Since then I have never taken safety in the bush for granted and I've had to deal with a few medical situations in the bush. Good to see you were prepared with a first aid kit and bandages.
Haha. Credit to Scotty for carrying around 1kg extra in the pack just for pina coladas for 2 days. 🤣 Nice work fellas.
The tougher the trip the better the memories, well done gentlemen.
Pretty easy to injure yourself portaging. I broke my foot packrafting in New Zealand (kicked a rock wading in the river), the next day I rolled my packraft in a rapid and got separated from my raft. I was stranded and had to activate my inreach device, a helicopter was sent to rescue me.
I really do love your videos. Unfortunately, at my age (79) I have too many issue with knees an legs so I can't get into or out of a Kayak. With THAT in mind, I do it thru your videos.
Looks like a hard slog boys!!! Well done 💪
Make sure you don’t accidentally get orange juice when you’re making pina coladas… we made that mistake once, and they curdled straight away. We called them Pina Collapsoes 😂😂😂
You didn’t notice the taste after 3 but 😉
Very well done gents ....... all phases of the video
That was one of the most painful experiences of my life. Damn you two blokes 😵💫😵💫
Volleys give the best grip in those conditions. That is why roof tilers wear them.
Well done boys for surviving such a hellish adventure. You guys work so well together. You're like the Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis of Aussie bushcraft.
I work alot around waterfalls and we use ice grips to stop us from slipping you on the rocks they work wonders. You can pick them up pretty cheap if you have boots you can even buy ice stud's for them which you install permanently into the boot they are awesome for slippery rocks also both options are inexpensive. You can pick them up for less than $30 it beats spending thousands of dollars getting chopperd out with a broken ankle. 😊
Well boys, I’ve watched both presentations on this “adventure”. Both presentations were professionally delivered. Very interesting and very picturesque. The courage and determination displayed by both of you was remarkable. Your compatibility throughout such an arduous venture was a breath of fresh air. Congratulations on surviving, and thank you, cheers 🍻
Well said!!!
This really was an exceptional effort for both of you - to come out of such a challenging trip with great videos is such an achievement! It's also been really wonderful to see your friendship and camaraderie - so glad this was a trip you both did so you came out alive!
Congrats on your news! Baby walkabouts will keep you busy once he’s born Scotty! Here’s hoping Mrs Walkabout has a smooth pregnancy and a safe delivery 🤱🏼
The arduous trips are always the most memorable. Love your work. Thankyou 🤩
What a beatiful place ❤
That was absolutely brutal! But it's so much fun when you two get together. Thanks for sharing my friend 🤠
Wow, I'm hurting just watching you two grind through this. Glad you both made it safely! Thanks for sharing.
What an adventure!
What a BEAUTIFUL river! Unbelievable. Those drone shots...wow! I LOVE seeing Australia like this. Thank you for that. Also the shot at 12:07 is perfection, the perfect camp. glad you survived and thank you so much for taking us along.
One of the most visually beautiful videos you've produced, but the dedication and positivity in face of some serious trials is the real story here.
I've always subscribed to the theory of the 'three types of fun', and this very much looked like Type-II fun. We're all privileged to get to be spectators to that story!
You guys are pure class!! Coctails in the wild ! Magnificent!
Well done boys bloody top effort rewarded us with great scenery & serenity absolute banger of upload Well done Scotty.
Tough going Scotty, great to watch & grateful it wasn’t me having to tough it out. Thanks for your commitment.
What a trip, Scotty! Glad the Swagman wasn't hurt too seriously. I did hear that a Yowee was spotted wearing a hat.
Hey man looking forward to your next video!
Seriously well done on this mate, it must have been incredibly difficult to put that amount of effort into filming on such a taxing trip
Hellish trip but damned entertaining!
What a trip Scotty. Having dipped my toes in to filming adventures recently and experiencing how much goes on behind the scenes and how much exhaustion it all adds, in addition with the already gruelling mission, I can't imagine how cooked you guys would have been during this. Cheers
Absolute legends. Well done lads, that looked brutal.
You boys need some canyon shoes... Epic video, keep up the good work.
That was epic, such an accomplishment, well done, would be something to strive for, lov to do something like that, push my physical boundaries ❤
Aaah the exuberance of youth! An entertaining vid, but next time.....listen to the app. Hope Silly Swagman recovers from his injury quickly.
Come to British Columbia! I believe you’d really enjoy the scenery and backpacking trails here.
Also, love the videos!
One of your best edits yet mate! Mattsy is one of a kind haha.
Awsome adventure, hope your injuries are quick o heal.
You do great together
What a great pair you two make, fabulous video I can’t begin to imagine how difficult that must’ve been!!
Congrats mate. Perseverance does pay off. Atleast you've got half of the Kelly Gang. Cheers cobber.!
wow very interesting experience friend
Mate this was awesome! Wild place
Wow! What an adventure! I’m exhausted and all I did was watch! Glad you both got home mostly unscathed.
What a great video, you should do a video with Beau!
Once again good sir, you’ve entertained and inspired us! Thanks for sharing your epic weekend.
Gotta love the struggle . On ya boys
Oh the sweet struggle! Paddling down a completely calm and meandering river is just boring, to the point that "meander" is a bad word to me and my friend. It was October or November, not a nice time on the northern hemisphere. It had rained for weeks. We went in three or four times, and even the birch bark and dead spruce twigs the survival experts tell you about wouldn't burn.
Still great memories...
Been a fan of yours for a long time now Scotty but I bloody love your videos with Mattsy! You guys have a great connection on camera and always have some fabulous adventures. The film work and vistas in this one were epic! And what a massive effort for the both of you to do it! Thanks so much for sharing it with us all.
What a challenging paddle and hike, to say the least. Don't know how you did it. All those boulders and then Mattsy spraining his ankle. Good to see Mattsy again. That Pina Colada must've tasted extra good after a hard day. Congrats on catching the carp Mattsy! Nice drone shots which showed all those boulders you had to traverse. Great video!
The adventure begins when things go wrong! Awesome vid.
Stunning cam work Scotty. Just beautiful.
You and Mattsy never do easy packrafting trips 😂. I was cringing at all the ankle rollers you two had to get through. Thanks for the video, really enjoyed it.
Great, gruelling, vid. For 1st time watched channel on wide TV screen .. some of drone shots showed real beautiful (if unforgiving) scenery. All of this for our entertainment. Thank you.
8:59 water , yes water 🤣🇦🇺👍 you blokes are such a treat to watch, really good viewing. A couple of aussies enjoying themselves, 🤣😅😂well sorta. 👍🇦🇺..if it ain’t rainin we ain’t trainin. A bit of banter 👍🇦🇺 18:13 yeah make it large one . Gaiters are a really good piece of kit .I was hit by a snake once, I was really crook for a week. My pulse dropped to around 40, I was really crook for some time after. Got me on my right heel, didn’t see it before or after. But went through my shoe two cut on my heel. Only good snake is a dead snake. Took a three week hike with an mate first week to unwind, second week starting to meld into the bush third week decided to quit my job in Lonsdale street Melbourne, haven’t been back to a city for 46 years now. That third week the mri looked really good Tucker. The fish from the river was like sushi. This was in the early 80s . 39:03 if those things take a leak on you the stink lasts for days. Lol next one oorroo
I felt the pain …. The Alton hootchie swag combo looks great …. I have the 3x3 already and the hootchie on the way … can’t wait to get the swag
EPIC! Loved those drone shots and that soundtrack too 💪🏼👌
Congratulations on great editing, I really felt how gruelling the trip was and enjoyed every minute of your amazing raw adventure.
Beautiful country! Felt soled shoes/ boots are great on slippery rocks.
I'm glad your dad's ankle is OK. Look after the old fella 😉
Be careful Scotty ! 🥺
I can really relate to your suffering and pain, yet you two managed to get through. Given your extensive experience in the outdoors, you ought to apply for the TV show "ALONE." Thank you for sharing your experience.
One of my fave vids of yours I reckon. Good effort documenting all the hard stuff, that’s when you really just wanna put the camera away. Loved the tunes too. Gotta get me a packraft!
The pare of you are awesome thank you for another amazing video ❤❤
Astral Rassler kayak boots - super super good for such trips, I have been using them for my packraft adventures for years.
Bloody great watch.
Loved seeing both perspectives here. It was brutal hey, but also so beautiful. I hope that the infection was kept at bay. Thanks for a great video!
Thanks for taking me along, that's one tough Packraft, almost indestructible ?
Awesome effort Scotty you and Mattsy are very entertaining and maybe a little crazy .As for the mole removal good idea I had one on my back that started to change shape off to the Doc byopsy then the big shock it was Malignant Melinoma surgery to remove it about 150 stitches but they got it all so big sigh of relief that was about 14 years ago .Stay safe mate.
Thanks for your efforts guys !
That sure was a special little camp spot you had there boys! Awesome 🤩
Wow what an epic adventure 😊
Such beautiful scenery.
Massive effort boys and thanks for the awesome content.
Great adventure - get well soon both of you!
Great video
Great video. as always good times and adventures. Glad to see you two together.
Sometimes it’s better to just pick ‘em up, carry ‘em. Sheesh! One of those times you say, “probably shouldn’t have come”. Outdoor adventures are great when they’re inside easy - tough. Miserable, injured, not so great. Sorry guys. Because of a lack of experience, when I was 12 yo, I let my old canvas pack, bedding and canvas tent get soaked in a terrible rain. I had to pack it out, 2 miles, up a steep, washed out muddy road. Weighed it when I got home, 116 pounds. SH!T happens…but not twice…heh, heh. Thanks from East Tennessee.
Loved this one! Stunning scenes, and you guys are such a fun duo
excellent video
Cracked of a trip mate. well deserved drinks indeed 😊
Awesome video Scotty! Amazing footage from the drone. A pretty grueling trip for sure, especially on those slippery rocks!
Great story telling & editing on top of the excellent footage definitely top shelf video
Brilliant - great framing, story-telling, and location. The chemistry between you and your perspectives provide some great entertainment. Well worth watching both of your vids of this trip - Thanks!
Epic adventure lads
Well done on the carp catch! Another one bites the dust.
Great video guys. As a fellow packrafter, I’d call that trip a hike …. an epic hike 🏕️🐍
Nice wild rugged country . nice vid . In my younger days i use to get down into lots of wild places like that in the gorge country around the New England tablelands nsw . Maybe you should get up there and give some of those places a go Probably some great packrafting trips there . might want to take some abseiling gear with you too just to be sure
Always look forward to your content Scotty. Always get a laugh with Maxi on board ✌
Can’t believe you guys made it through the gorge of doom with only one injury. Job well done boys 💜💜
Good Flick Boys!... Matt really needs a net, watching him flounder around to grab those mud marlin was hard to see!
Watched this one again ! I feel for you ! What a grueling trip ! Used to plan my trips by the amount of rain coming while on your trip. That would easily be a class 4 or more rapids if it was flood stage !!
Love it mate❤
Speedy recovery to Michael!
Is there many goats there?
They are horrible to the environment.
Great job fellas. Haven't been able to get out for a while and really missing the bush. Your vids just make keener to get out. 👍
Such a great video , one of the best ones , glad you boys got through , keep up the amazing vids you inspired me to do more camping with my kids
Салют,Скотти! Некоторое время назад я посмотрел этот фильм от другого человека, твоего напарника ))) Мне понравилось путешествие и юмо ваш,он оригинален)))) Мы все смеялись над пониманием шуток,так держать!!!
Blooming brilliant! Well done lads! Greetings from Northern Rivers nsw
glad to see you eating biltong and not that jerky rubbish
Well done fellas .. your grit and determination was inspiring. Also makes me laugh seeing how much Mattsy has caught the fishing bug 😂
