- Not my usual subject but this parlour caught my eye and it is incredible!!
200 cows milked in just 2 hours and it's all in a custom build parlour which the farmer designed himself!
Let me know what you think!

We watched this on the big screen, cannot comment there so I had to find it again just to say, Wow. This was an impressive setup, the system is low stress (human and animal), super clean, forward-thinking. In a world where we often can't trust those supplying our foods at the grocery, this farm is doing everything right. Good Job. We love the field trip videos Cammy, thank you for your excellent work!
Thanks very much for making the effort to comment! Appreciate it! Hope to do more in future!!
l liked seeing the parlour in action. So clean!
Thanks to all the farmers for the hard work that keeps us fed!
Glad you enjoyed it
Wow that’s one of the cleanest dairies I have seen on UA-cam
It's incredible! I was so impressed and thats not my thing as u know!
@@TheSheepGame Aye I Ken yer no into coos but theirs time yet maybe 🤔

This video was fascinating. Thank you, Cammie!
Fascinating video - everything was so clean and the cows looked very relaxed and happy! I hope Graeme Parker sees this video - it’s right up his alley.
Thanks! I'm sure he will! =D
Shout out to William Smith Engineering! Tom is one of a kind!
Definitely Em, some work gone into that parlour!
That was so sanitary and the cows seemed at ease and relaxed. That man is a genius. Bravo!
Cammy, I loved cows checking out you and the camera 😁
Wow, it’s spotless. Can’t believe the cows just back up to the rail and get milked. Amazing. My long passed aunt milk farmer wouldn’t believe her eyes. Love all farming videos so enjoyed this immensely. 🇨🇦
Thanks Ruth, cows are well trained!
The curved rump rail helps keep them slotted into place.
I'd be waiting for a mad heifer to try and jump the front rail!
Very cool set up!!
Hi Cammy, this was an awesome video! Tom’s place is AMAZING! I was impressed by the wash down between each group of milking. I’ve never seen this before. Usually people clean up after all the milking is finished. The ways makes it much nicer and cleaner for the workers and cows 🐄. I have also never seen cows milked without food before, interesting. Please tell Tom a big thumbs up 👍 from me. Also a big thumbs up to you for not being slavish to your sheep 🐑. You must get to see loads of interesting places. Thanks for sharing them with us. However, don’t forget to keep showing us sheep; they’re cute! 👍😊
Thanks Linda, it was a super clean parlour. To be honest I had never seen cows milked without food before, but generally cows do like to be milk and the relief from emptying the udder too.
Cammy that's a fantastic set up, A credit to that farmer, he's a great operator anyone can see, He would need to have a few farm walks to show how it should be done, Keep it up Cammy
Thanks Tom. As i said i was so impressed that i had to make this video!
@@TheSheepGame those are top looking cows too that man would be making a nice few pound, and well done to him
Thanks for the peek into this dairy farm. It WAS remarkable. BTW, the subtitles really helped. Thank you. I love the curiosity of the cows...what's this? This makes me appreciate how labor intensive my dairy products really are.
Thanks, glad you found it interesting!
Having done my Science Degree in OH&S I was gob smacked at the simplicity of the milking apparatus. This is the epitome of the KISS principle. I also had a spooky episode as well. I had a couple of Uncles with Dairy farms. Us kids would go to the farm for "Holidays". What it really was, was unpaid labour. These "Holidays" usually occurred at haymaking or silage making time. Whist watching the video I could suddenly smell the milking she'd, the smell of fresh, warm milk and the earthy smell of fresh cow shit. Thank you Cammie for bringing those wonderful memories back to me. Love to all Joolz.
Thanks Joolz!
Great video Cammy. Keep them coming.
Thanks Alastair!
That is a great parlour and your video shows so well how clean and happy those cows are. They spend a few minutes of their day to give us milk and get to lounge around the rest. Thanks for sharing that.
Thanks Rebecca. I found it so interesting!
I know that Tom Pemberton (Farm Life) was looking at milking parlours last year...so I have sent him the link to this video...I do hope he is interested
This dairy parlour is wonderful...so clean and the cows are easily managed without them being stressed out ...pass on my congratulations on having such a place...bet he is proud of his work.
Thanks will do!
I worked on a dairy farm years ago and have seen a few others around Montana, USA. This Farm is the cleanest I've ever seen ! The simplicity is also quit amazing. Well done !!
Excellent video and well explained in adequate detail. Please express my thanks to the farmer and staff for showing it in use. I am very very impressed with its simplicity and the cleanliness of the whole area.
I very much enjoyed your live broadcast last night but absolutely could not keep up with the questions.
Thanks Dan! Yeah I was trying my best but they were coming in so fast it was to hard to keep up!
That over riding “simplicity principal” is much harder to achieve than one would think. Super impressive. Lots of room in front of the rapid exit so no bottle neck. If planning don’t let the building be the limiting factor. Design parlour first then building size
This was a Awsome viewing thanks
Lovely set up! Clean!
It’s a slow burn...... your transition to dairy, but you’re making the right choice!!😂😂. That’s a great set up and good to keep it simple. We milk 1000 cows in 3hrs here in 🇳🇿.
Now that sounds like an interesting video!! 😁
Fantastic video. Very tidy milk parlour.
Thanks John!
Cammy the milking parlour makes you look good 😂love those long legged sheep
Course no shears needed 😂😂
Lads this man explains and does better videos than ear to the ground he is going places
=D thanks very much. It was a lot of fun
Dairy girl here . Lely robots. 😁 You have a beautiful barn. Tom , Great job ! You dairy is spotless.
Thanks Heather, a few robots in now around the country!
Great video too! Bitta work gone into it and we can tell!
Definitely a well engineered set up and works well for them.
That thing is spotless!!
Never seen one like it Frances!
Unbelievable! So clean and tidy. Incredible design and attention to detail. Bet milk yields are excellent. So good you could live in it! Thank you. Excellent video. Stay safe
And thanks to Tom too.
Thanks Keith very kind
Awesome video. Thats a great setup for milking cows
That is a real nice set up
Thanks Linda!
That is a beautiful milking parlor, totally immaculate. In the old days, houses in Florida, USA had windows like that ventilation system, called jalousie windows, pre-air conditioning.
Serious setup and it's so clean cows seem so happy. Fair play to tom well thought out setup. Thanks for showing us sheep farmers something different.
Thanks James, I did think it was just something a bit different!
Will that lovely man design a system for my apartment?
He built an impressive set up. Your drone shots are splendid. Stills could be framed.
Great video.
Now that’s a clean parlour
Thanks P J!
Grate vid as always cammy very interesting. Really enjoyed last nights live by the way
Thanks David. It went well I think people were really positive!
Great video Cammy and very very impressive and clean dairy!!!!!
That's fabulous!
Thanks Donna
Fascinating video! It's brilliant 😀 Saw another video that was similar with the cows going in and milking themselves.
Thanks Alex. That sounds like a robot setup!
Many years ago i had to feed cattle using a big wooden weildy barrow for the silage and draft, good for the shoulders, and the milking game has come a long way from a stool and pail , good content , cheers from a very wet Brechin .
Cheers! Aye some investment in dairy these days! I found this so interesting!
How a parlour should look, well done to all the staff. Amazing how quite the cows are without a pull of meal during milking
Thanks James, was a pleasure to look around
Quite the retro friz Cammie !
it's getting wilder every day!
With cows one has to be SO CLEAN!!
They certainly are that. Never seen a place so clean
That is an impressive milking parlor!
I loved it Melissa!
This is awesome. It's rather fun to see you adventure and ask questions. The footage is well done too 👏
Thanks very much I had a great time!
Takes me back to the days I used to milk now beef and sheep wonderful setup clean healthy cows thanks for sharing 👌
Thanks Dafydd
Very very impressive! Such a good design to keep the girls clean and healthy. Not a cattle owner, cows have always been my first love. The better their kept the more milk they produce. Thanks for sharing.
🏴🐄🐄🇺🇸😷👍
Simplicity was the key and it works well 👍
Thank you for sharing this VIDEO
Thanks for watching it Deborah!
What a rig!!!!!🙌😍
WOW! Love the vlog!
Thanks Lela!
I lift the milk there some days and it is a very clean and tidy set up could eat your dinner of that parlour floor!
Definitely one of the cleanest I have seen!
Thanks for that video, really interesting!
Glad you enjoyed it! 👍
Can’t believe noone has commented on the fact i used the phrase “off piste” I was so chuffed with myself 😂😂
I missed it, I’ll have to go back and watch again to find it.
You should be chuffed with yourself. that was amazing and Tom's farm deserved that shout out :)
I have no idea what either of those phrases mean 😉 off piste or chuffed #houston #texas
Not sure what you mean by off piste. Is it the Scottish equivalent of pissed off?
#US #Nashville #musiccity #goodtobeinTennessee
@@Cent4man off piste means skiing off the set slope.
Amazingly clean. What a setup !
Great video ❤️🇨🇦☕️☕️
Super spotless it was Katt, thanks for watching!
I came for the beautiful dairy farm so clean and I stayed for your beautiful accent because you sound like your friends. LOL
Thanks lol
That parlour is spotless!! Did I miss him saying how many cows he has altogether?
Live feed was very good last night. Loved Archie on back up with questions incase you didn't get many 😂
Yes obviously 200..😀
haha well done you saved it before i could slag u off lol
😂😂
Got a dairy boy right here !!!
Awesome Gavin!
impressive operation to say the least'super nice video to enjoyed it.thank's.
Thanks very much!
Very nice parlour it must be a huge difference for you Cammy looking at what the cow farmers do compared to sheep owners like yourself and it educates yourself and us aswell very interesting keep it up Cammy you'll hit the big numbers for your channel in no time! 😁👍🏻🐑
Thanks Sean I just love learning new things!!
Is it bad that I push the like button before I even watch the video! 🤷♀️ that’s how much faith I have in you. I was so excited about your hair cut then I realized you hadn’t really
Haha do u prefer cut or long? Thanks for the faith!
@@TheSheepGame I’m kinda liking it short 😉 but it’s your voice that’s the best!
Me too how funny
I am very impressed by how clean this place is amazing job
Brilliant Video 👌
Thanks Catherine!
An interesting video, as are all of your videos. There were some great bits of camera work as well. Big thumbs up from me.
Thanks George!
You're getting close to 15K subscribers!
It is creeping up well Penny 👍
I'm earlyish to a video! Howdy! Also, I wanted to mention that I love your accent and personally find it pretty easy to understand even though I'm from Cali lol.
Awesome and I really appreciate the positivity!
Brilliant set up good vid
Thanks John!
This was awesome!
Thanks Fiona!
What amazes me is just how the cows walk in and know to back up into place, ready for milking. How long did it take to teach that to them ?
Tom was saying that even the first time they did it they managed to milk them all in 2 hours 40 minutes and that he couldn't believe how well the cows responded to it!
Great video
Thanks Harry!
Great look at the dairy. Clean! The Holstein are in fantastic shape.
Cammy , is there anyway you can show some Ayrshire dairy cattle in the future . Great video . Thanks
Thanks Ronald, will look into finding an Ayrshire herd 👍
Enjoyed
Super simple . . . cheers.
Thanks Rod!
Very nice dairy
I was impressed with how efficient, clean and tidy it was!
I absolutely adore how curious cows can be! Example at 8:07 into the video
They are very nosy and inquisitive, sometimes a good thing and sometimes not such a good thing! 😂😂
@@TheSheepGame I don't think cows are capable of doing anything bad. How dare you imply that they could. LOL! 🤪😂
@@Rubyinthesun lol.... it they would at least stop breathing on my camera lense that would help😂
@@TheSheepGame Ok ok, we can absolutely agree on that. 📷 💨🐄
the hoof gp would love that place ........i think you need to get a couple cows cammy
Great video Cammy really interesting, i started off on a dairy farm nothing like that though, that is well impressive
To be fair Stuart i'd never seen anything like that till a couple weeks ago!
What a fantastic milking parlour. The only thing I don't understand is when the cows walk down how do they get them pointing in the right direction? Cheers 🍷🍺👍🏼
Before he built the parlor they probably face that way get fed meal as they were being milked, and new heifers usually are put in the middle of the group so they come in at the right angle with the older cows. Its doesn't take cows to get used to the new set up. What really got me was the ventilation on the walls, great idea.
@@mistypeppercorn914 thanks for the reply. I only know about milking before these new systems, they headed for the feed and every cow knew their correct place. Cheers 🍷🍺👍🏼
Well answered Misty thanks! Cheers for the question also Chris it was a good one!
Good on you fine see dis 👍
Thanks Robert!
I loved the video.
Thanks Joan!
Beautiful cows and a cost efficient parlour !!
Who sings the song you play in the background ?
Best regards from a Swedish diaryman with 35 cows and tiestall barn🐄🐄🐄😀😀
Thanks for the subtitles, you go very Scots when talking to your fellow countryman lol.
Great video
Yeah I feel a bit daft speaking in my UA-cam voice because noone speaks like that around here 😁😂
I watch SaskDutch Kid a Canadian cow farmer and it amazese me how a cow will always find the camera 📷
My 18 year old daughter is a dairy worker, 4am starts milking 500+ , twice a day on a rotary parlour.
That's a serious number and well done her for being willing to graft!
The farmer who sends us calves for the summer has recently installed one. He got a gang together to introduce the cows to the new system. It proved easy to get them on, but they were enjoying the ride so much, they didn’t want to get off.
I've seen muckyer operating theaters!
Bought my sheep today spent alot but worth it and I can were you hat with pride knowing that I'm in the sheep game 😂😂
Great news Will!!! 👍
Just found your channel recently. Former officer myself. I feel like a teen girl stalking you as I go back and like all your videos.
Haha, hope you are enjoying the videos Robert!
Cracker cammy. And to think all the gea equipment would likely come from Kilmaurs farm in Kilmarnock. Cracking service from gea we put a 15/15 in 2 year ago from dairy Flow from Kilmaurs farm.
Aye but then we do have a dairy cow named after the county so we should be good at it haha
@@TheSheepGame aye that's true only because the best county is next door 😎😎
dont know who did the hydraulics , but it looks perfect ! lol
A great design it is 👍
Now we are talking cammy 😁 some REAL farm animals 🥛😂 that is a top class set up! Takes me about 2 hours to milk 100 🤦♂️🤦♂️ would of finished the video nicely if we had seen you putting the units on 😂😂
Ha cheers Mark! I’m in sheep scanner mode so don’t like to get my hands dirty 😂😂
@@TheSheepGame looks like you would stay cleaner in that parlour than you would in you “office” job 😂😂
Wow,either this farmer has won the lottery or is heavily in debt..Liked the walk through.
Or has he got a really successful engineering business lol
@@TheSheepGame Then why the burden of the parlour??That makes no financial sense,Re-invest the money in the engineering firm. Not a parlor where he will never see the return..👍👍
Great video. Where did the QandA go from last night. Would like to watch
Drop me a message on Facebook or insta Alex i’ll send u link. 👍
bonny setup ! and i thought where i milked was clean🤣
What are the walls coated in? Is some special type of sheeting screwed to the walls to make them easier to clean?
Its a smooth plaster surface which does make it easier to clean.
That was very interesting. Brilliant setup he has. Farming is farming regardless of the type, I suppose. Don't be afraid to show us more than sheep. 👍
Thanks, glad you found it interesting 👍
Have they got a scanner in the parlour cammy, to monitor the cows milk yield.
Yeah so they are scanned as they walk in the gate and its all recorded. The gate also closes after the 20th cow walks in!
OMG I knew I'd met Ewe before ,..I'm still paying the fine 😂😂🐑🐏😎
Haha hope u learned ur lesson!
Thats a beast of a parlour but I guess that's what you can build when you are Scotlands biggest and best dairy
I'm guessing you are an inside man? =D
@@TheSheepGame I could only wish to be backed by graham's dairy but we don't even have a local dairy here in the Western Isles any more
I currently milk 140 cows in a 7:7 parlour, will be going up to 170 cows in the summer hopefully!
Awesome. Serious hours you guys do!
Is the crowd gate and lifting wall for the cow to get out of the parlour air activated? Or hydraulic.
Hydraulic Bill
What about if you want to give them ration /meal??
