As a ex dairy farmer(50 years) and now beef farmer (20 years) farming needs more women in it,,,the industry would massively benefit from it...Great great video.👍💯
Great to watch you girls work hard and the farm is very well kept I like that you are very well at teaching your trade I have learned a lot and look forward to more Well done ladies
You all do a lovely job milking cows and I think it is so interesting hearing how you milk overseas. I think we complicate things here in the US. I would like to hear some numbers such as somatic cell count, as that is the first measure here in the US. And I think your idea for a double 24 with your cow numbers is spot on. Get it done and quick. And very pleased to see you all as young folks carrying on, you must have great parents and, maybe, grandparents. Thanks for the great video, look forward to more.
Just started helping at a local farm and have milked twice in the same style of parlour, been covered in poo and pee from the cows but still enjoyable milking them. Just subscribed and bell notification on, have to watch some of your older vlogs as well.
JUST STARTED WATCHING UR VIDEO'S, PRETTY MUCH LIKE OURS. In the U.S. they're alot of different setups . In the last 10 to 15yrs we lost a lot of smaller dairy farms, but some of the dairy darmers are growing in size. In earlier yrs an average 125 to 250 milking and there still are some ,but a lot sold there milking herds and sold there property. NOW an average 500 to 800 milking and there are very large 2500 to 5000 milking herds. Where I live we have a large population of Amish families and there average is 40 to 100 and there are some larger Amish dairies that milk 200 to 250. Enough of talking, love ur videos and I'll keep watching.
we used to milk 100 cows with stainless steel buckets . cows were neck chained in cubicles with a overhead vacuum pipeline . then we used to bottle the milk and cap them with with foil caps and a hand capper. stack crates in a big fridge and load then on a pick up truck in the morning and deliver milk door to door. do i miss farming, NO I DON'T. love the vid nice work girls
Absolutely brilliant video and so impressed at the cleanliness of the parlor you two are so interesting and watchable well done ye and amazing accent 👍🏻🇮🇪☘️
this is great to find you. Watched your interview with Tom P. your parlor is over the top great. Tom is trying hard to install something similar based on many of your suggestions. Will check out your other videos next.
Love the sister dynamic between you two, made me laugh! Great to see women and great to also see a more light hearted side of farming rather than the usual serious muscle clenching vids!
Thank you girls for the video. Your parents must be proud of the both of the great work you both do. Look forward to next video. John. From N. Ireland.
Hola chicas que fuertes son y otra cosa muy buena el buen anbiente que crean y juntas a una me encanta da mucho gusto verlas desde ESPAÑA un fuerte abrazo
That's really informative, I didn't quite get what the "dump bucket" was for,....would you mind over that again. I've haven't been involved in the dairy industry before, it very interesting🤠👍!!!
It is for milk.that cannot be processed usually because the cow is taking antibiotics. The cow still has to be milked when sick. The milk is then dumped.
Loving your videos, and love the way you farm. Your cows look so well and happy! I’m really not a fan of zero grazing dairy farms so it’s so nice to see your cows out grazing in the fields how they should be 😊
Yayyy, so glad you’re back!! How do you manage with those nails Josie?!? (They’re lovely!) I’d really love to hear more about the character of the cows 🥰
Well done ladies 👍😀. It's great to see you working so well together. As a fellow farmer, I enjoy watching how others look after their cattle (especially the milking). This video really shows that you take pride in your work and the care of your herd. Your positive and patient attitudes will serve you well. If you don't mind me asking, how did you come to settle on the GEA parlour (over the other brands of milking parlours)? Thanks and keep up the good work 😊!
Hi, we did a lot of research into different parlours and went around a lot of farms to have a look and in the end we decided the GEA parlour suited us the best. We especially liked their feeders and the way they worked. They were also a good price ans the service we get down here in pembrokeshire is excellent with them which is really important 😊
Question….. why wasn’t the filter changed right after your last milking? Wasn’t your system washed right after last milking? Can’t leave your filter when washing your system? Plus you must have a pre-sanitize just before you start your milking?
We had a radio on also, for our cows. I made a bet with my Dad on which music they liked best. My Dad liked Country and Western, and I liked good ol' Rock and Roll (50's - 70's). I won the bet. Our cows gave more milk listening to Rock and Roll. My Dad didn't like it,.....but you can't argue with more money going in your pocket. So, the radio stayed tuned to Rock and Roll. Occasionally getting changed to a baseball game from time-to-time. He liked the Chicago Cubs.
What type of legband are you using? The color comes out nicely compared to our velcro. It gets dirty very quickly and you almost cant tell the colours apart
I think governments are going to eventually make the image around farming to bad that people will be starving and no one will want to farm. Farming has been around as long as humanity, and I just can't see how it has contributed to any bad effects to life. I also believe that eventually humanity will have a break down of technology because it fuels arrogance and Pride as well Pride never prospers. I used to farm as a young farmer and there was no love for growing grains for food production, in fact people who bought products made from these grains protested the farming that was feeding them. And in Canada only a small percentage of grown crops feed Canadians, we export grain to developing nations to feed them. So what happens when legislation is such that this all stops? I love your channel, I know it can be challenging to take us along. Thank you for your work. Thank you for your work you are the unsung heroes feeding the world.
First great video! I noticed some of your cow's had some small horns i haven't seen many with horns(long horns, scottish yes) are they short horns? Maybe a video about what kind of cow's yours are along with a washing video. Also where you guys stand the fiberglass has cracked and is peeling will whoever did the fiberglassing fix it? Did the weight of the cow's cause it?
Hello, i am new in dairy farm. I am currenrly stablishing in Nicaragua and i am very impress with all your video. I was wondering if you could help me in with suguestion in diet
Your current parlour (new parlour) is it in a completely new location/building on the farm or an extension of the previous. Watched Tom Pemberton building his and he had to use a temporary parlour, did you have to do the same
Nice parlor I'm a dariy farmer in CT USA I milk 400 jerseys in a 50 stall delaval rotary parlor did you ever think about putting in a rotary parlor and did you look at other equipment besides gea
Hi, we did look at a lot of different parlours, different makes and styles. We never really considered a rotary for too long as we don't really have the herd size for it and never really intend to so we decided It wouldn't really suit us 😊
Are you ladies from New Zealand? I am from the USA. I have to admit that it is hard to understand some of your talking because of your accent. I am glad that you sometimes put the words on the screen, and that makes it easier to understand. You have a very nice setup for your herd. I grew up on the farm in the 60's and 70's. On our main farm where we lived, we had Dairy cows (Holsteins). We only milked around 20 cows. We had the old wooden stanchions. We had 4 milkers (basically stainless steel buckets with a detachable lid with inflations on it). We would put a leather strap with grommets and a curved metal rod, around the cow to hold up the milker. The grommets allowed us to use the straps on all sizes of cows. We also had a few pigs, chickens, ducks, geese, cats, and dogs. On our other farm, we had Black Angus beef cattle and a few sheep. (I forgot to say that you ladies are hilarious. Keep up the good work!!!)
audio-wise add some gain on the voice sections and lower the music sound down some: a lot of headphone systems and speakers on phones normalize sound these days so you have to watch the little volume meter or delve a little deeper into the editing tricks
Maam can i apply to your farm as a milker, i am a fresh graduate of agriculture major in animal science? How can i direct message you maam about my application
I can't believe you don't clean off the teats of every cow before milking like most every other farmer does. Why is that? Do you not have sanitation standards to meet?
As a ex dairy farmer(50 years) and now beef farmer (20 years) farming needs more women in it,,,the industry would massively benefit from it...Great great video.👍💯
You all are awesome.

The hooves look to be in excellent condition. Nice calm cows, clearly they are handled well.

Another great Kiwi invention, The herringbone shed (parlor ) was developed by Ron Sharp, a farmer from the Waikato New Zealand in 1952
Here in the King Country of New Zealand I milk in a 44/88 swing over shed, 800 cows twice a day through Spring.
This was super fun to watch. Thank you for showing us the Milking. You ladies are awesome.
Brilliant video and very informative. Thank you for the tour of your milking parlour and keep up the good work!

cows love music do u have a radio in it our cows love 80s music gives more milk keeps them calm
Yes we always have the radio on for them 🥰 we turned it down for filming so it wasn't too loud 😁

Is it not called a cluster and the four things are suction cups ?

Does anyone know if either of them have onlyfans? Thanks.
Maam can i apply to your farm as a milker, i am a fresh graduate of agriculture major in animal science? How can i direct message you maam about my application
Hii
I'm mes u
I can't believe you don't clean off the teats of every cow before milking like most every other farmer does. Why is that? Do you not have sanitation standards to meet?
Yes we have bactoscan standards to meet and we meet them with ease 😊
We have always done it this way and don't find it an issue
you only milk 250 cows I milk 500 cows
essere non tanto belle va bene ma approfittarsi è troppo.
Hi girls are ye single girls l am single to ❤❤
Stick to milking not singing 😢
I can't stand listening to these 2. Their voices are so affected. They go up every few words. Extremely irritating.
