congrats on the build one of the best and most informative videos i have seen in the last 3 years of my modelling 😃👍👍👍 .
Thank you John!
Hi Matt!
Great choice for a Long Video on such an Awesome car!
I'm 62 years old now and used to build models like Crazy. When I was 10 years old, in 1970, I even won a model car contest at our local Dirt Track, Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA. me and my Dad went EVERY Saturday Night for Years.
Then two things happened to me around age 15, I learned to Play Drums and I Discovered Girls!!! ☺
Needless to say my model building hobby not only took a back seat, it fell out of the dang car!!
So, my first ever car was my Dad's 1972 Oldsmobile 98 with twin four barrels on top of a 454 Rocket! It was a land yacht, but give her some room and not much could keep up!
Well, in 1980 my Uncle up in Blue Ridge decided he wanted to sell his 1967 Chevy Impala SS with a 427 under the hood. He call my Dad wondering if I wanted to buy her for, hold on, $300.00 Yes, not just Yes, but, OH - HELL - YES!!!
So now as I find myself mostly bed bound from losing both legs below the knee last year, I have rediscovered modeling!
The first model I'm making is AMT's 1967 Chevy Impala Dirt Tracker!! I figured it would be pretty hard to screw up an Old Dirt Tracker! Of course, after I have a few models under my belt, I want to build the Pristine, 1967 Chevy Impala just like I had in 1980!!
Thank You for Answering 90% of the questions I have about the new ways of, "How Do I?"
I'm Slowly Collecting the Equipment and Tools I Need to Really Get Rolling in The Hobby Again!!
Hi James, what a cool story about the cars and I'm sorry to hear about your legs. I'm glad to hear you are getting back into the hobby!!
That is one clean Impala, well done.
Thanks Rod!!
Looks great Matthew!!!!!! 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks Tim!!
I love this kit I got 4 of em.
I have this same kit sitting on a shelf!...you have inspired me!...I think I’m gonna build it,...following your tutorial on this one!..VERY NICE BUILD!👍👍👍
Very cool!!
SOOOO KOOOOOLLLLL !!!
Great paint , great work .
Unbelievable.
KOOOOOLLLLL VIDEO .
Thanks Mike!!!
As a major stockholder in BMF, I thank you for your prodigious use of this product ( my wallet thanks you )
Lol
The most difficult and rewarding part on any build is mating the body, interior and chassis ..
It came out very cool Matt!!! Thanks for all the info!!
Thanks Willy!!
Wow, great choice! The Impala fastback is such a beautiful car
Thanks!!
Cool great detail . Brings you back to the dime store model contests when you were a kid in the 60s.The foil trim is awesome .Thanks for a great video.
Great build and video Matt. Thanks for sharing. Keep well
👍🏻👍🏻
That turned out great!
That black wash looks great on the wheels!!
👍🏻👍🏻
Great update awesome finish looks awesome yes sir wow is right . You did a awesome job on the BMF. Have a great week.
Thanks Neamon!! Got you shop card. I'll mention it on a video very soon!!
That came out real nice! Love that blue.
Thanks
Sweet build ! Many year's ago my buddy had the real car, same color.
Cool!!
This will look super with your other muscle cars!!
Gorgeous paint too!!
Wow!!! This is my favorite that you have done. #talent
Maybe you should build more Chevys?
🤬🤬🤬
Another great build Matt!!! Enjoy the model car show on Saturday. There a lot of fun and you meet some really nice people.
Beautiful build Mathew!
Thanks Joel!!
One tip in Scale auto ages ago about BMFing, was to cover the tip of a new #11 blade in black Sharpie. So you'll see the black tip against the chrome foil easier. Super useful when you're as blind as a bat like me. lol
Another tip from Ken Hamilton's column, was to have a piece of double sided tape on your work bench ( Masking tape rolled on itself with the sticky side out works too. ) When you get that pesky string of foil on you blade tip. Touch it to the tape to get it off quick.
Awesome tips!!
@@modelcarvideos5829 Thanks. You'd be amazed at all the useless trivia thats bouncing around my noggin. Ohhh yeah. I didn't mention it before, due to autoplay skipping to another video while I was finishing editing my comment. Great job of the Impala. I may have to snag your tip with the wheel wash, and keep it for another 15 years, so I can dredge it up again. lol
I built the same model along with you your's looks great mines close but I love it thanks for another awesome video,, you the man
Thanks Don!!
Have the same kit sitting in my garage. Haven’t built a model in probably 25 years. Might have to get back into it. Turned out awesome. 🍻
Go for it!!
Beaufiul job! FYI, this is a model of the rare Impala SS with the SS 427 option, factory option code Z24. Less than 2100 were built, and a real one in mint condition will cost you north of $75,000. A fully "loaded" Z24 Impala cost over $5,000 new, close to the cost of a new Cadillac. But you got the "L36" 427 cubic inch engine, your choice of 4 speed or automatic, heavy duty suspension, red line belted tires, power steering, brakes, windows and front seat. Fully equipped also meant air conditioning and AM/FM multiplex stereo with 8 track tape. What a great way to cruising, both in 1967 and 2022!
👍🏻👍🏻
Some battery cables on that beauty and that would set it off! Looks great!
That feeling when you take your model to the next level, it's great. Beautiful build, I look forward to seeing your next build. I can't wait to build mine, it sure looks like a nice kit. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks!!
Really nice! Wish I could do that. We have a train close to us as well and I love to hear it. Gives me that small town feeling.
I like your work Matt
Thanks Joseph!!

I sure love your channel. Such a down to earth guy. Love your builds and knowledge of the hobby. Have not built models in over thirty years. I have been customizing hot wheels. You should try one some day. Thank you for sharing.

👍🏻👍🏻
I use the same to do my grills and I coat them with Pledge to seal them .. you do great work and I love your cander
Thanks!!
Great looking 67 Mat!!!! Nice Work!!! Enjoy the show. You never know what the judges are looking for. Good Luck!!!! I'll be watching
👍🏻👍🏻
Another stellar build man!! Keep um coming!!
Thanks Jason!!
Sharp interior and details!!
Awesome job looks great!
Thanks Daniel!!
Nice work!
Thanks!!
Those panel lines really make a difference.
Yeah they do!
I built this kit almost 20 years and love the finished product to this day. I built mine before I discovered bmf so all the trim is Testors silver paint. I also altered the stance on mine to lower it.
What really caught my eye for this video is the fact that you painted yours almost the identicle color as mine.
Cool!!
Nicejob
Thanks
Nice. Work it takes me about a month to build two cars start to finish but it helps to be retired and can spend as much time as I wish.
👍🏻👍🏻
That's awesome !! Turned out fantastic and everything looks clean and smooth.. The over all appearance has just the right ( Pop ) appeal to it.. It's a eye catcher with out being too flashy... Your trim work is very well done and that's what catches the eye.. I myself can't use that stuff , I've tried a time or two.. I always end up cutting into my paint and then it becomes extra unnecessary work for myself.. So now i use the Chrome Paint Pens and I've had pretty good luck with those. Anyway , again:: very nice work and I enjoyed watching your videos.👍
Hey Matt! Thanks for the BMF tips, really appreciate it. You also don't give yourself enough credit, this came out really awesome. Even though the Robbins show canceled, unfortunate, you could still take it to the No.Charllote show. Be there when its judge and talk to the judge about what he feels could be improved and apply that to the next one. Anyway, be safe and have a great day!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Looks great. You had me motivated and burst my bubble all at the same time with the Warner Robins show. I’m from the Tifton area. Thought it would be cool to look you up.
Yeah it's a real bummer!!
Looks great. I think this is the best looking year IMP. I had trouble fitting the body on this same kit too. I ended up trimming the front bumper supports and radiator support to get everything to sit the way I wanted.
It`s looking so cooool!
Thanks!!
OUTSTANDING ! Really came out great. Great job Matthew.
Thanks David!!
Very nice! I built this kit few years ago in a very similar blue from a rattlecan. always a nice kit. Love your work!!!
Hey Matt the 67 turned out real nice. Love the rich luster of the blue paint.👍
Thanks David!!
WOW is right Matt! great looking build! Love that La Mans Met blue!
You need to bring it to Atlanta!
I don't know if I'm there yet!!
@@modelcarvideos5829 Looks like you are to me!!
You can do amazing things with a camera! Lol
For the drip rails I use a 4mm moloto pen. Carefully slid it along and it looks great.
👍🏻👍🏻
This place is my heaven
Im going to have some fun doing bare metal foil for the first time on my Facebook group build. My 58 plymouth fury "Christine" build.
Very cool!!

Thanks Russ!!
Very nice!! acrylic paint is your friend.
👍🏻👍🏻
Great build. The finish is perfect.
Thanks!
Great build. Thanks for the demo on bare metal foil. I'm going to try it for the first time on a 68 Chevelle and wasn't sure how to do the vent window; still not sure but ready to try.
Ask Luka Cee how he does good props.
I dislike that auto correct: hood props not good props.
Great job!!! Awesome paint I love MCW paint. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Doug!!
I need this kit! Nice job.

Cool!!
