HIT THE BELL & TELL A FRIEND ABOUT ME
"They slow walk you into brilliance" should be Metallica's Indian name...
Agreed
Metallica is the king of badass intros.
"yeah" - James Hetfield
im stealing that xD
I love how they slow walk you into brilliance.... I never heard a more genius comment, respect !
Was gna say the same! Great way to put it!😄
Well said!
Right. Well said Van
Proves he truly loves music. I'm LOVING this channel.
And now you opened the floodgates my guy. Unforgiven II. Gotta react to the follow up.
With respect to your comment on how the lead singer, James Hetfield, bends words? Sounds like a very famous MC we all know and love, Eminem. 😃 He plays with bending words too..
Love you, keep it going coach! Don't give up. You're unique, interesting, wise and 💯 real.
The harmonies are just so perfect in this song, makes your eyes water
You might also like Nothing Else Matters, since you like this song. From the same album.
Sad But True is great as well.
@@Rick-Rarick indeed.
Might? 🤨
He already reacted to that song a while ago.
@@bingo5387 oh, ok. My apologies.
Now you gotta do Unforgiven part 2 and 3!! Part 3 is is gold, brotha!!
Hell yes
@Thrash INC I like 2 better than 3, but they are all great!
2 has the best video to me.
You're high AF, Unforgiven III is garbage! Ugh! DM was loudness wars garbage..puke! smh!
I literally had to pull over when I first heard 3
This song is to be felt...I love how you close your eyes and actually feel the lyrics 🥰☮️✌️🕊️
There is nothing better than sitting in the dark with headphones on and closing your eyes and letting the music take you...so don't apologize for closing your eyes and getting into it. You can always go back and watch it. METALLICA RULZ!!!!!!!!!!
Plus, the video could never match the sonic brilliance !
That solo came straight from the heart and the soul....i mean, wow!!!
If no one has mentioned it, there is a great video of Kirk recording the solo in one take because the producer said, "Okay, are we gonna hear 'Solo of the Year'?" He just says yeah and rips that beast out, just amazing.
Yeahh i saw that one and when the solo is going to end bob rock help kirk with his hand on his guitar turning down to volume 😄
This is part of a trilogy.
The Unforgiven: Can't forgive them.
The Unforgiven II: Can't forgive you.
The Unforgiven III: Can't forgive myself.
What I've felt
What I've known
Never shined through in what I've shown ... those words have the best meaning ... at least for me
Same. Volumes can be written about that line alone.
Anyone that listens to this song with their eyes open is a lunatic, don’t trust that person.
Really? How about listening this song and make a dishes, or clean up all house...
😂😂😂
so true!
Agreed. Except whilst driving. 😜
@@valerycro3853 🤔🤨 I cant trust you now. 🤣 jk as I watched this reaction doing dishes lmao
"Slow walk you into brilliance" is lit! React to the whole trilogy: "Unforgiven II" and "Unforgiven III". Peace.
Metallica is brilliance . They’ll go down as the best bad to ever live , and they’re not done
I second this
You must complete the unforgiven trilogy
Video means nothing. The song is a masterpiece. You nailed it.
@ Darren Murphy yup... “Nothing Else Matters” you should suggest that one [Unless he’s already done it].
Video means nothing??
We don’t care about music videos. If I want to watch a video I’d watch a movie or a series (or UA-cam). If I want music, then the audio is the focus and the video (if it exists) is supplementary and unnecessary.
Its good you listen to the solos in total... there's usually a feeling associated with the solo and that feeling is built and solidified in pieces... not to mention, when we let the solo play thru, we pay our respect to the hours and hours of work. that 19 seconds of time is the showcase of a lifetimes work
I LOVE your genuine appreciation of music….regardless of what the world labels it (rock, rap..etc..)…you FEEL what it sounds like and can appreciate that feeling/sound…which not all people do….
Love it!! 💯🧡☺️
Your first reaction is why you dont stop during solos! Got to feel the whole thing in your soul!
The contrast between the verses and the chorus makes this song even greater.
I really appreciate you and your reactions brotha. Stay blessed 🙏🙏🤘🤘🙏🙏
This song gives me chills, love to see you enjoy it 💖
This is a trilogy of Unforgiven songs. You should listen to them in full so you can grasp the individual meanings as well as all three together.
I friggin LOVE you singing along to this and imitating his deep voice!
One of my favorite guitar solos of all time. Fits the song absolutely perfect
It's easily one of the best solos in all of rock
Metallica & Led Zeppelin....the best!
Bob Rock was the producer behind the scene. He has his name on a lot of top selling albums, and he helped shape the sound of the album that this song comes from.
Metallica + Orchestra is Truly Something Great
This was my favorite album from them and I think their best. This was mind blowing in the early 90’s. No one could touch them.
First time I can remember hearing this song and seeing this video was at around 7 years old. It was on a recorded VHS tape with a bunch of other music videos that my dad made. The video freaked me out as a kid. Then later when I grew up and I actually listened to the song I realized how beautiful and powerful it was and have loved it ever since.
Thanks Van! Once again great reaction to awesome timeless classic
Enjoy the Journey that is Metallica. Brilliant!
Back when James Hetfield looked like the badass uncle who wasn't invited to Christmas dinners anymore.
It goes two ways, so I really really hope the metalheads try react more to different genres, I've seen a lot actually, since I'm hardcore reaction fan, but it needs to be done more, but I truelly enjoy seeing that music get us all connected. Love to all .Hugs from Sweden.
I love it when you close your eyes and are just feeling it so all good
facts, Van! totally new culture, fun to learn along with you.🖤✨
PLEASE do The Unforgiven II and The Unforgiven III! You wont be disappointed!
my favourite Metallica song and solo
Thank you for reacting to Metallica! And thank you for explaining your reactions too. I never even thought of how even to how a rock song is sung, that even the way the singer presents a word is just so new to understand the “Rock World’s Feelings” that opened my eyes to your whole reaction too. I love it! 💕
That guitar lick is iconic
My brother, we first heard this on the album (or tape), and only saw the video later on. Hearing it first before seeing it is the best way to appreciate the MUSIC, which is what it's all about.
The Unforgiven II and The Unforgiven III
Multiple significant moments in my life happened with this playing
One of my favorite songs.
the essence of Metallica is their first album "kill em all" their best album unquestionably. It's the album I listened to almost 40 years ago and it's the one I've listened to the most in my life. Today I discovered a band "Lovebites" heavy, power, thrash, metal. An all-female band from the Japanese scene. And I must say that some of their titles have the color, Metallica. A band that deserves special attention for those who are open-minded. Search on you tube and listen to "break the wall", "The hammer of wrath", "Set the world on fire" (a killer), "thunder vengeance" (live) the opening of the concert.
"Enter Sandman" by Metalica will blow your mind. That was awesome.
I appreciate your honest and transparent approach to experiencing something new. Mad points with me. Good job.
Greatest musicians of all time. Listen to Unforgiven 2,3
"now coz of yall... it's only coz of yall i didnt stop it. i just want yall to know that! i wanted to stop it man, but that was a god damn dope ass solo" YEEES u never stop a rock solo so ty for that!
Respect for at the end you (to the best of my judgment) were totally in key.
What you said about 'crossing over' into exploring not only new sound, but a new way of vocalizing words and even the words that people choose to say is true for me too but reversed. Been a metalhead for as long as I've been listening to music and have been making efforts over the last year to dive into hip hop, and what you said there perfectly explains my feelings 👍
Still the BEST ROCK SONG EVER WRITTEN. This represents us all.
Yes , this takes me back to the early days listening metallica!
“Eye sweat” from the first time hearing this song. Totally manly and 100% acceptable response.
It's acceptable any time this song is playing or has just finished
THIS......is the best band ever. Live in Moscow, they stopped counting at 1.6 MILLION.....
Hey bro, it’s cool as hell you pay attention to all the aspects of rock- I just don’t understand why us metal heads, in your age group, knew hip hop and rap, because they it was hard and real. We loved the beastie boys, NWA, Public Enemy, Cypress Hill .
We Had no issues going from SLAYER Angel of Death to F...the police by NWA - we also listened to tribe called quest, 24/7 spy’s , living color and Michael Jackson.
Why did the Black community ignore all great Music but instead only stayed in one lane.
I think it’s like a cultural pressure. I’m white and my other white friends would make fun of me cause I’d listen to nwa and nas... they’d be like dude you’re not black. Or you’re not gangster. I think it’s probably even worse for them transitioning to rock music because it’s such a drastic difference in sound and people interpret rock and metal to be only white people music. I don’t know why! Brothers gave us rock!
@@CJ_finesse lol , totally, we did get Rock from brothers .
@@CJ_finesse -what you said makes sense. I personally, never fell pray to cultural pressure (as far as I know) ...
seems as though the hood kept it hood And anything by white artists was taboo. They sure as fuck were welcome to the party in my hood - I can understand, and overall it’s dope brothers coming around to it now,
@@neworld2114 Agreed! I think these reaction channels have really started to open peoples minds and introduce them to stuff that they have missed out on. Rock on.
@@CJ_finesse for sure!
Good breakdown bro . I’ve been following you. Thanks for putting rock in your life 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 Rock Bro 🔥🔥
This is PERFECTION.
Also depends where you grew up. Here in Cali, I have friends of all races that listened to Metallica, GNR, Zeppelin, Skynrd, etc through the 80's up till now. Very diverse musical interests.
One of Metallica's best solos...
I appreciate you taking the time to go into it that far.. The singing styles and how words are spoken and sung...
Awesome reaction Bro. You made the world a little bit better of a place. Don't stop.
Great reaction.
I’ve been finding out that I’ve lived rather naively. To me, music has always been music and I never attached it to a race. To me, you like what you like or even sometimes you just like what you’re familiar with. Music plays such a huge role in my life. Sometimes it is what I cling to, in order to not crumble. I feel music. I experience music and I’ve not ever thought that some music isn’t mine to listen to. That being said, i DO gravitate towards rock and metal and Classical. Not much in the way of r&b or hip hop. I have been opening my eyes to rap lately and am enjoying my journey. Interesting perspective Van.
Keep em coming!
I'm going to see these guys live in October and I can't fucking wait.
Hey man, love to see your reactions, hope you can react one of these days to "Low man's Lyric" by Metallica. An amazing country vibe. I believe you'll like it. Stay safe. Cumps from Portugal !
I love that song
You should watch the making of documentary for this guitar solo. Bob Rock, their producer, kept making Kirk do different solos cuz none of them sounded right and eventually, in a moment of pure "fuck all of you" energy Kirk banged out one the greatest solos ever in a single take
Unforgiven 2 is my favourite Metallica song. Have to do it.
I can’t believe Metallica didn’t claim this, I love them but they are notorious.
Your reaction was smooth criminal
Made your face melt
I subscribed due to your willingness to understand another point of view. Absolutely wonderful and refreshing mindset. Thank you.
Best reaction to this song ever!!!
Music is a universal language. Common ground my friend.
Metallica was my first love in music
Until it Sleeps is a good later Metallica song. Their first four albums are pretty much packed with impressive songs.
I really appreciate your insight and perspective on the exploration into music genres not typically associated with the black community.
I didn't understand lyrics, just with the melodies in my teenage time was so important things, metallica songs....
That guitar solo!!!
I appreciate your thoughts on this joint man! Great reaction 👍🏻
I know exactly what u mean! I feel music better when i close my eyes
I appreciate you, you're opening comment was spot on! I'm happy my Stepdad always played Metallica in his car when I was younger 💯 "Nothing else Matters" is another beauty💥.. there's many, but I'll check your playlist!💜
Fade to black!
One of my FAVS 🥰
Unforgiven II is awesome too
My first cd ever was ...And Justice for All and i was 11 years old thats was in 1990, i did not speak english or understand it mutch but i loved the music, then like 4 or 5 years later i was given a cassette from the Metallica album "black album" and it blew my mind, i think i ran that tape alone for a month befor popping in something else in my walkman.
Hero of the day
I like watching your reactions.
Because this is real metal
It's wonderful to see you enjoying one of my favorites 😁👍
you can't go wrong with any older Metallica. I'm a white dude who grew up half my life in the hood. I listened to mainly Hip-Hop back then in the early 90s, but I found Metallicas Master Of Puppets on a cassette tape laying on the ground by someone's apartment. I took it home and listened to Metal ever since. I still listen to alot of genres, but Metal and Rock are my favorites.
Old or new, metallica is 🔥🔥
@@jtramelli5464 You can't go wrong with Tool, Deftones, A perfect Circle, Crosses, Puscifer, Team Sleep, Palms, Rage Against The Machine, Hed PE, Snapcase, Pantera, Metallica old definitely, some new Metallica. That goes for most of the band's I love with the old stuff my favorites. Deftones gets better.
Edit: Lamb Of God you can't go wrong with. I'm sure there's more.
This is the first of three Unforgiven songs by Metallica. Please listen to Unforgiven II and Unforgiven III. You will enjoy the journey.
Metallica so amazing their music is timeless!!
LUV how you break it down about listening to the different genre, diction etc ... you said it perfect about the race relations!
The song was originally inspired by the lead guitarist's conflict with his abusive father. Powerful stuff.
He had quite the upbringing. His mother passed early because they rejected modern medicine as Christian Scientists. Those topics definitely informers lyrics.
Unforgien 2 and then Unforgiven 3 (my personal fav of the 3)
CLASSIC ROCK
Now it's time to do The Unforgiven II!
I like the breakdown of what a lot of black people have to do to fully appreciate rock and other new music. It's pretty similar in the other direction too.
Good point about focusing on the music. Do that
I suggest Nothing Else Matters, the Memory Remains, the Unforgiven 2, Wherever I May Roam
