I just realized that Audrey said that when she wears voluminous shirts it can be "misleading" and I really like that! Instead of saying something like "I look fat in big shirts" it was much more honest and got the point across without implying that it's negative to "be voluminous" Love it!!
It's sometimes problematic though because then you're not seeing the facial expressions of the person you're talking to. So I think it's a good idea to sort of do both.
I always love your background! Its so clean and I love the brick with the plants, it's just Perfection. Your voice is so calm too, I've watched so many of your videos because i don't feel like your screaming in my face with your voice or personality
That's true. She is able to get you to quiet down and listen attentively, because her voice is pleasant, well-modulated and at a good volume. Great job.
I have been on two Zoom calls since I watched this the first time, Audrey. What a difference these tips made. I just watched it again and was helped with one detail I had not remembered from my first viewing. I have taken two Zoom watercolor art classes, one prior to learning your tips and one after. I especially appreciated the tip to raise the camera to eye level. Not only does it make viewing easier and look better, it keeps paint splatters off of the keyboard, which some of my classmates were commenting on. :) I shared the tip about elevating the computer and our instructor commented that it would also help us to look straight at her demonstration rather than needing to look down. Once again, thank you very much!
When I first watched this video I had no idea I was going to be interviewed for national TV on skype and live not once but three times the next week. Evrything I learned was so helpful.
I would love it if Audrey finished the video by walking off and had really bad bed hair from the back and tracksuit bottoms on. Just kidding Audrey, you always look so gorgeous!
Thank you, Audrey. I'll be teaching from home starting this week and will keep all of these tips in mind. I don't want to scare the children with a triple-chin shot of "dear teacher"! (BTW--I had to order a ring light, much to my chagrin. The best "filming" room in my house has the worst light at the time I'm scheduled to go live.) One thing I'm confident about--and have you and many other online "friends" to thank for: I don't have to worry about looking professional on camera. Having a dedicated "work" capsule wardrobe has helped me tremendously in that respect. I already selected a handful of items that will allow me to be very comfortable but still look like the teacher my students know. A couple of button downs, a few knit tops, a stand-up banded collar shirt in my favorite shade of blue, a variety of simple necklaces and earrings...I think it's important for them (and us) to feel we're back in school and doing some "serious" learning, even if it's through screens. I can't get into that feeling if I'm wearing shorts and a hoodie! I'm wishing everyone health, calm, and resilience through these unsettling and daunting times.
*Meanwhile in my Zoom classes, every single student is in PJs and hoodies, with messy hair, dogs barking, children screaming, eating chips, using some virtual background in outerspace, or actually driving in their car at the same time* I have a public speaking class that I also have to submit online, so I can't wait to see the next video, thank you! Perfect timing!
Yes please keep making them as you are very sensitive charming and relevant. I’m confident you’ll keep what’s going on now top of mind as you make your videos such as this one. I’m on camera now more than ever and this is such good info to help me be more comfortable and feel better about myself & not scare anyone 🤣I’m deeply grateful 🙏🏽💚 & stay healthy 🙏🏽
Thank you, Audrey. I really appreciate your continuing during these uncertain times. Your videos make me feel connected to the rest of humanity at a time when I can't connect to humans and everyone appears to be a zombie whenever I need to be out in public.
Thank you Audrey, I'm lawyer and during this quarentene I only talk to my clients on video calls. Your tips are amazing and I'm gonna use them right now :) By the way I loved the video about the morning routine, thank YOU for making this moment we´re experiencing more beautiful, calm and instructive. Kisses from Brazil. (sorry for the spelling mistakes)
Thank you! Yes, please continue your videos! You are a breath of fresh air. I like this video because not only do you show us what to do, but you show examples of what not to do! You're adorable. Love, from my house to yours. 🤗
Audrey, not only is your content so useful, you are one of the most genuine, refreshing, and gracious of you-tubers. Always a respite, especially now...thank you.
I want to thank you (and some other You Tubers) for being real and willing to show yourselves in less than flattering ways to make a point. For example, showing how filming from below looks bad even on you, who is quite beautiful, really brings it home that there is a lot that we can do, that we might not even have realized, to make ourselves look better. It's so different from traditional (for lack of a better word) celebrities, who try and hide everything that goes into making them look so good, in order to make themselves seem somehow different and, it has to be said, better in some ways than regular folk. My respect and appreciation for you and the others is huge.
I think this is one of the better videos that Audrey has made because it is much more succinct than is usually the case. Audrey often runs on and on, and while her information is valuable she takes waaaaaay to long to make her point. It makes me want to give up on her. This video was particularly helpful given the current need to socially isolate and the frequent use of Zoom and Facetime to make both individual and group connections. Yea Audrey.
Thanks to you dear Audrey for your videos, tips and very gentle way to speak to us. It's really a pleasure and a relax to listen you! And your ideas are top.
Audrey, what I like to do is learn something during this unusual phase in our lives. You’re one of a couple of UA-camrs who do provide that. You to provide sound and practical advice but yet you don’t lose the joy of what we love each day. Thank you.
Please don't stop making videos. A lot of channels i follow took that decision. Now that i am home feels so nice to watch your videos with a nice cup of coffee. I even starting going back and watching your old videos. You can clearly see the improvement.
I love the background to your videos - it's not distracting, but it looks so calm, welcoming & peaceful. I feel it's the kind of house I would feel 'at home' in, and it makes it feel like I am visiting a friend for coffee - especially precious right now, as I'm living alone in lockdown and don't have the facility for video calls. (Btw, totally get the need to avoid background movement on professional calls, but I do also love it when your cat makes an unscheduled appearance in your videos - so cute!) Thank you for providing some normality in this hard time. Stay safe x
Thank you for all of your videos, they make me think! I especially like this one since facetime and video chats are the norm right now. I've never had to use this kind of tech so this particular video is very well timed and I thank you. I enjoy your channel so much. Thanks for each one of these inspiring chats.
So glad you're still doing your videos, Audrey. People need to think about something else once in a while instead of non-stop concentration on our current situation.
I really loved this one! And looking forward to the next one. I have about 10 video calls a day, and getting used to it enough to enhance both the background, my make and angle. Thank you and stay self!
These tips were brilliant and very timely in my life right now. Thank you so much. You are articulate and a pleasure to listen to. Your thoughts are concise and easy to understand. I appreciate that as well. Thank you... and God bless you.
Thank you for never letting us down and having interesting, helpful and most importantly CONSISTENT content❤️. As an essential worker and still “out there in it” every day I really look forward to waking up slowly on weekends with coffee and my favorite You Tube fashion channels. Some channels/influencers I follow often say “I’ve had a rough week” or “feeling tired” or “not motivated today” so not going to post a video.🤦🏻♀️ (it seems subscribers received more content from them when it was there part time job. As soon as it becomes their full time job they get flakey and don’t seem to enjoy it as much.) YES you provide much needed escapism and calm during this storm, thank you for understanding this and taking your job as an influencer seriously as most of us do our chosen careers. You are a true professional. 🙌🏼🌹
A funny antidote in regards to choosing your background. My 20 year old daughter is schooled through live video conferencing with all of her classmates due to the Covid 19. Before she did her first conference, she did a video testing. Luckily she noticed her stuffed animals on her bed on the background. She quickly threw them off the bed for the fear of embarrassment. Thank you Audrey (the name of my daughter as well) for a well constructed and animated video. Thank you for all you do on your channel. It is nice to see someone who has good common sense without going over the top and it’s okay to be sensible but with mindful style and reminding us it’s okay to be you. Best wishes to you.
Yes! Please keep making your videos! Your ideas & suggestions have helped me over the last year, not only with my wardrobe but also my sewing (!) and what I hear inside my head... I hear more positive "self-talk" ❤ And, your wonderful calm presentation helps with stress, too!
Thanks Audrey. I've sent a link to this video to my Mum. We've been doing family Zoom meetings and I know she feels self conscious. Especially as her hairdresser, who used to come and do her hair every Friday, isn't coming due to current physical distancing measures. 🌷
Thank you so much for the tip on moving your part over. I've always hated how I look on webcameras (or any camera), and I couldn't believe what a difference moving my part over made - a big difference! Thanks again.
So wonderful and always so naturally well spoken Miss Audrey Coyne :-) dont give up creating videos your tips and tricks and all of those that make you as finesse as you are is mostly the things that we forget and thus makes the communication seem more distant. A wonderful day ~!
this was really helpful, I had a zoom call for my oral exams the other day and it was a whole mess! the next one is going to be tomorrow, so I'll definitely try your tips!
Your videos are so helpful without being overly complicated. A true pleasure to watch and listen to! I plan to incorporate some of these tips for my next video meeting.
This is fantastic! Judging the title, you'd think that this topic and therefore the video must naturally be rather superficial, but you covered it in such an insightful, intelligent, lovely, and helpful manner that I got use out of all of your tips! Great job! Thank you so much for your quality content. :)
Thank you for this. I’ve been struggling with this and so appreciate these timely tips. And please do keep the videos coming-they are such a welcome distraction!
Regarding eye contact, I find it helpful to move my frame up as close to the camera on my laptop as I can so if I do glance at my reflection I’m also looking into the webcam.
Yes definitely your videos offer me comfort in this time. You’re so sweet and have such a soothing voice. Please keep them coming. I love your content.
Thank you so much for keeping your videos going. Your content is always helpful and well presented. I've noticed that some other UA-camrs are always fiddling with their hair, which is something you don't do. It makes a big difference. Also your edits are very smooth, again a big plus. Thank you again
Love your beautiful spirit and positive outlook. Please keep making videos, especially now in this time of uncertainty. You are are a ray of sunshine during a cloudy time🥰
Great tips this is why I have been doing the no-video option on zoom because I don’t look good on camera/video but better in person. I will try these tips for my video calls this week and my virtual brunch and coffee today. :)
Thank you for this video Audrey, it’s the best one I’ve watched during this time. You look beautiful and elegant and now I know how to at least try to project the best of myself! I have been delivering guitar tuition via Skype so I need to be a little further away from the camera, as do my students, so that the hands can be seen on the guitar. I am looking forward to your next video about sound quality since I am also having issues with that. I hope you are keeping well.
I had a video group chat yesterday and I did all the don'ts you address in your video. I definitely need to practice before next week's chat :-) Thank you very much for all your help.
This is so wonderful. As always, you're so helpful in a non-judgemental, compassionate way that resonates. Further, I think this video should be required viewing as an introduction to any video call software.
Thank you so much! You relieved me by letting me know that I was doing so much the right way, but also brought to my attention the idea of the damage I am probably doing with gestures. I am an English teacher (and theater, but not right now for that one.) I tend to gesture a lot and very broadly - BIG. As soon as you mentioned it, all of what I've been doing in that regard came into my mind's eye, and I was floored. I will employ the change immediately. Again, thank you so much. Your channel is one of my favorites. I deeply appreciate all that you do. Please continue!
I really needed this! I have been teaching classes online looking and feeling very dishevelled and I was hiding my own window because it was making me feel awful. Thank you for these great tips, I will be implementing all of them from now on and I already know I will feel better. Lots of love from Italy
Thank you so much for talking about this subject. I have taken a zoom teleconference or two with some groups I am a part of and making sure that I am looking my best and shown at the best light is important.
So want to be you!! I’m from a large family so I’m loud and all over the place with hand gestures! Voice Modulation is Greek to me but you do it so well... I’ll practice and keep my fingers crossed 😊
What wonderfull advice! I shall try to remember your tips for both my personal calls to family and freinds and my youtube channel. I love you voice, so pleasant and soothing; a delight to listen to.
Thank you Audrey...your videos are really amazing and they calm me down in a really chaotic schedule....but most importantly I really love the advices u give...thank you so much...
🤩Audrey please continue with these beautifully , well thought out, informational, (somehow) calming videos!!! Stay well you lovely lady. Lord bless you and yours🥰
I just realized that Audrey said that when she wears voluminous shirts it can be "misleading" and I really like that! Instead of saying something like "I look fat in big shirts" it was much more honest and got the point across without implying that it's negative to "be voluminous" Love it!!
sk8swim ❤️❤️❤️
Yes. People might think one is pregnant too (Which is not good for interviews).😱😭😿
Important note: Eye contact in a video call is created by looking at the camera, not the eyes of the person on the screen.
True
It's sometimes problematic though because then you're not seeing the facial expressions of the person you're talking to. So I think it's a good idea to sort of do both.
It's hard, I always forget
Thanks or that info. I was never sure how to do that.
I learned that by taking selfies
I'm crying at the thumbnail 😂
Audrey is like the cool, elegant auntie that's always teaching us how to survive the professional workplace! ♥️🇨🇦
I always love your background! Its so clean and I love the brick with the plants, it's just Perfection. Your voice is so calm too, I've watched so many of your videos because i don't feel like your screaming in my face with your voice or personality
Brittany Bullock such a warm and gentle welcoming aura
That's true. She is able to get you to quiet down and listen attentively, because her voice is pleasant, well-modulated and at a good volume. Great job.
You are having an excellent hair day!
Professional Microsoft Teams has an option to blurr the background while on a video call.
Love your videos!!
if only they could cancel out the background sounds for those of us who have kids./pets /loud neighbors...
I have been on two Zoom calls since I watched this the first time, Audrey. What a difference these tips made. Shell Bell hahaha what a missed opportunity 😂 that would have been amazing 🤣🤣
😆😂😂
Loved the “don’t” clips a lot, love Pajamas Audrey
Hehe absolutely, PJs Audrey was a cute addition to the video :)
Great video- so useful ! Thanks for sharing your secrets!
Shoot, I wish I would have seen this video like 10 Zoom calls ago 😂 lol
Claudia Padilla 🤣🤣🤣
Oh, I know. Soooo much Zoomin' lately. Not used to it.
Same!!🤭🙈 My colleagues will be shocked next Tuesday... gonna blow them away with my new “performance”!!🤣👍🏼
Thank you, Audrey. I'll be teaching from home starting this week and will keep all of these tips in mind. I don't want to scare the children with a triple-chin shot of "dear teacher"! Ohh, Audrey, queen, I can't tell you enough how much I like you natural curl. It looks so lively and suits the spring/summer weather so perfectly!
*Meanwhile in my Zoom classes, every single student is in PJs and hoodies, with messy hair, dogs barking, children screaming, eating chips, using some virtual background in outerspace, or actually driving in their car at the same time*
I have a public speaking class that I also have to submit online, so I can't wait to see the next video, thank you! Perfect timing!
I love the soft waves on her hair, so pretty and feminine..
This top is my favorite piece on you. Love when it makes an appearance.
Very helpful! And thank you for the entertaining clips of the "don'ts"!!
Calm, elegant, wonderful advice, so watchable. Thank you so much.
Thank you, Audrey. I really appreciate your continuing during these uncertain times. Your videos make me feel connected to the rest of humanity at a time when I can't connect to humans and everyone appears to be a zombie whenever I need to be out in public.
We really appreciate your videos, especially at the moment. You're such a friendly and helpful voice here. Hugs and thanks from Germany!
You videos are always a joy... and, in fact, especially now.

Audrey, not only is your content so useful, you are one of the most genuine, refreshing, and gracious of you-tubers. Always a respite, especially now...thank you.
Audrey, your genuine warmth is refreshing! Thank you.
Thank you Audrey! Yes definitely an escape but also very educational and interesting! Soothing and relaxing too! You are lovely!!

I love that you are wearing your natural curls more often. Your natural texture is so beautiful!!
This is excellent Audrey. I shared with my sisters since we've started Skyping together.
Thanks to you dear Audrey for your videos, tips and very gentle way to speak to us. It's really a pleasure and a relax to listen you! And your ideas are top.
We're lucky to have you Audrey ... Everything calming, beautiful, appropriate, and so helpful. Bless your heart and stay safe. xo

The stack of books is one of the best stands!! And good tip about the good side 😉👍🏼
I love the background to your videos - it's not distracting, but it looks so calm, welcoming & peaceful. Audrey, thank you for your videos. Your style and advice are valuable to me, but your gentle voice and evident kindness are a real gift in my world.
Please continue to do your videos Audrey. I always look forward to them. They are informative and your voice is very calming. Thank you.
Thank you for all of your videos, they make me think! I especially like this one since facetime and video chats are the norm right now. Considering your background is as important as your personal appearance because it is an extension of your brand. Great points, Audrey.
These tips were brilliant and very timely in my life right now.
Thank you so much. You are articulate and a pleasure to listen to.
Your thoughts are concise and easy to understand. I appreciate that as well.
Thank you... and God bless you.
Audrey! I’ve been really loving your hair recently, can you do a tutorial? 🥰
amelia w thank you so much! I would love to share an updated routine 🤗 I’ll add it to my video list
Audrey Coyne yay! :-)
Glad you are continuing to do videos! I am in an essential job so not stuck at home, but still enjoy watching your videos in my free time. Thx!
Marie Cheek ❤️❤️❤️ wishing you health and thank you so much for watching
Thank you for never letting us down and having interesting, helpful and most importantly CONSISTENT content❤️.
As an essential worker and still “out there in it” every day I really look forward to waking up slowly on weekends with coffee and my favorite You Tube fashion channels. Some channels/influencers I follow often say “I’ve had a rough week” or “feeling tired” or “not motivated today” so not going to post a video.🤦🏻♀️
(it seems subscribers received more content from them when it was there part time job. As soon as it becomes their full time job they get flakey and don’t seem to enjoy it as much.) YES you provide much needed escapism and calm during this storm, thank you for understanding this and taking your job as an influencer seriously as most of us do our chosen careers. You are a true professional. 🙌🏼🌹
Can you do a hair care routine? I think your hair looks lovely! 🥰
April Rose Caraan thank you so much! I will absolutely share my new routine ❤️❤️
lovely video with practical tips. your voice is amazingly calming with very clear diction. your hair in this video is gorgeous!
Great tips. Things I did not think of like the lighting and raising up my laptop .
Thank you so much.
That's an adorable anecdote! 😁
Absolutely keep making these videos..❤.your such an great inspiration...we all need an outlet right now...keep them coming...be safe🙂
Please do keep making videos! You are very genuine, calm, and have a friendly demeanor.
True!!! Sometimes certain looks look great in person but not on camera.
This is fantastic! Judging the title, you'd think that this topic and therefore the video must naturally be rather superficial, but you covered it in such an insightful, intelligent, lovely, and helpful manner that I got use out of all of your tips! Great job! Thank you so much for your quality content. :)
I liked the tip about not facing the camera but being a bit at an angle. Never thought about that! Thanks!
Thank you for this. I’ve been struggling with this and so appreciate these timely tips. And please do keep the videos coming-they are such a welcome distraction!
Audrey, that shirt on you is SUBLIME. thank you for creating such thoughtful content
Regarding eye contact, I find it helpful to move my frame up as close to the camera on my laptop as I can so if I do glance at my reflection I’m also looking into the webcam.
Wonderful tips Audrey....big hugs...hope all is well with you and your family....
I thought I was the only selfie chin problem person! And Audrey is a wonderful name as you have the rare world class like Audrey Hepburn...
...you're not alone, dear!
Just my thoughts!
I love watching your videos during this uncertain time. They are very comforting! Thank you for sharing 💜
Love your beautiful spirit and positive outlook. Please keep making videos, especially now in this time of uncertainty. You are are a ray of sunshine during a cloudy time🥰
The best tips I have ever seen about virtual meetings! Thanks so much!
Thank you Audrey for keeping in touch & continuing with posting your very informative and professional videos! I enjoy them tremendously.🌸
Thank you, Audrey, for taking the time to make videos and contribute joy and beauty to an uncertain world.
Valuable information about shooting like professional Thanks
Excellent video with so many good illustrations of what works better. Thank you!
Audrey, this was an excellent video and very helpful! Thank you for powering through and entertaining your audience in these difficult times.
Your hair looks very natural and beautiful in this video, Audrey! Would like to see a tutorial on how you achieve it some time
This is so wonderful. As always, you're so helpful in a non-judgemental, compassionate way that resonates. Further, I think this video should be required viewing as an introduction to any video call software.
Very complete and useful tips!! Thank you very much! And yes please keep on sharing!
i love the blue top!!! please where did you get it??
Thank you so much! You relieved me by letting me know that I was doing so much the right way, but also brought to my attention the idea of the damage I am probably doing with gestures. I am an English teacher (and theater, but not right now for that one.) I tend to gesture a lot and very broadly - BIG. As soon as you mentioned it, all of what I've been doing in that regard came into my mind's eye, and I was floored. I will employ the change immediately. Again, thank you so much. Your channel is one of my favorites. I deeply appreciate all that you do. Please continue!

Thank you for these tips, and thank you for continuing to make videos for us. I appreciate that.
