You’re the perfect example of a woman who “adjusts others crowns instead of knocking them off”. Thank you for your transparency and honesty and your ability and desire to celebrate and lift up women.
I absolutely love how you gently mentioned decorum and being respectful. Talking in a loving, positive way helps everyone, especially ourselves! I loved all the tips. Thank you! You are such a lovely inspiration.
Dominique, thank you! Wonderful tips as always! I will add one area of suggestion to this list! Take 5- 7 minutes to review and customize your zoom account settings when initially creating your zoom account on your device. This is so important for many reasons, but some of the most important being IMO: 1) privacy settings- never leave the bare bones default lack of privacy settings in any online account, especially zoom! 2) proactively prevent embarrassing moments such as sharing your audio or video unexpectedly or unknowingly- change your default settings to connect you to a zoom call without sharing your video and audio when connecting- you can manually share once you’re connected if you choose to do so by simply clicking a toggle so why not limit any chance of sharing more than you need to. 3) Take advantage of the easy to use features zoom built in as optional to automatically show a soft “touched up” fresh face when you share your camera- I personally really appreciate the option and don’t have to think about beyond the first toggle to on! So... 1) choose to have zoom automatically show you with a very light “smooth” touched up look & effect 2) choose your preferences from the options for how and when you share your camera and audio - automatically whenever you connect to zoom meetings or choose to manually say select it once you are connected and decide to share if at all. You may be waiting if connected or called in early, you could be driving and want your line muted so you’re not causing a bunch of background noise but still included and able to listen to meeting. For example, change the setting default to “DONT auto share my video when signing in/on, mute my line when signing on and until I manually unmute or share my video by clicking the toggle at the time you are ready and want to share. There are several helpful settings you can set and forget after that initial 5-7 minutes upfront spent on customizing your zoom account settings for the best experience. FYI, When you login in to your zoom account on multiple devices your settings you save within your zoom account will apply to your zoom when you login in on a different or multiple devices as well. Longer than I thought, but hopefully someone may find this add on helpful and nice to know!
Such a classy person with a ton of practical suggestions, coupled with a ton of wisdom. A great reminder to maintain an optimistic thought pattern in these troubled times. Thank you Dominique.
Thank you so much for this practical video, Dominique! You know, I did an interview for a dream job via Zoom a few months ago and was very intimidated at the thought because I had never had a video interview before and was concerned about how I could covey warmth and professionalism to a panel without having the natural advantage of being able to look them in the eye and shake their hands. I also felt at a distinct disadvantage because I was going for a very competitive job aged 50 and was no doubt going against younger candidates who are likely more used to virtual interviews. So I decided to prepare for the interview like you do for war: I prepared answers to potential questions but also read up on how to come across your best in a video interview, practiced how different environments in my home, lighting, outfits, jewellery etc. looked on camera. Honestly it took me longer than preparing for the substantive aspect but I knew I had to do everything I could in my power to stand out - in fact, exactly the things you discuss. Very long story short: I got the dream job in my dream city and started in February. Now that we are all working remotely, I keep applying what I learned and it’s really having an impact. Your tips are spot on and really do work, trust me ladies!
Your story is so motivating! I am going to have my virtual interview in a few days and the preparation can be really intimidating. But with the takeaways from Dominique and you, I am feeling more confident now and determined to confront those obstacles ❤️
There are a lot of this guidance videos out there currently and yours is just the best! Presented in style, no strange makeup, no loud voice and no showing off. Classy, that's what it is. I will keep all this in mind! Thanks!
I have recently found your videos and am enjoying them. I am 70 and it is refreshing to learn so many tips from someone much younger than me but is aging gracefully and respectfully. I have often told my daughter to not let me dress like a grandma or look like a grandma. No disrespect meant because I am a grandmother of 5 beautiful “kiddos” and love my title of Grandma! I just want to still be stylish!!!! Would love to see more videos on organizing and keeping current our clothes and accessories (storing these are a nightmare) current style and colors for spring and also would love to see a video on a “classy” way to carry oneself. My Mom taught me how to walk in heels with shorter stride, etc. Everyone is in such a hurry, while they may look classy, their presentation to the world isn’t. Keep on doing what you are doing, I never want to feel too old to learn! Thank you.
How can anyone give this wonderful, caring woman a “thumbs down”...shame on you, she always does her very best , which is the best in my book! Bless you Dominique!
There are people who have to express antithipy. It's not necessarily a bad thing. It makes us abide in word , judge not by appearances. It also shows us to stay in our lane.
WW Jackie it can only be trolls and competition because there are never good reasons for being negative to Dominique. I see these thumbs down all over UA-cam on really great positive channels like dance videos too and it bemuses me so I have decided they must just be nasty idiots who hit dislike as a personal stupidity :)
The way you speak, your tone, RIGHT SPEED, your CLEAR pronunciation and, of course, your lovely voice, make me easy to understand you, and surely for other people worldwide. CONGRATULATIONS!! Thank you very much for your well doing. Greetings from Madrid (Spain).
I’m a prior stay at home mom - now a corporate professional. I so appreciate your videos and topics! It’s clear you desire to empower women and thank you!
This information is so timely! I am a Pastor and I post two or three video messages a week on our church's website. I appreciate your tips about lighting, keeping the camera at eye-level, and speaking into a better microphone. Great information for future videos. Thanks, Dominique.
Before this pandemic, I had never heard of Zoom! But here we are and this is how our Small Group from my church meets each Wednesday evening. There are only ten of us and our host, a young, smart, hip member is the only one that gets it! The rest of us are next to windows, holding the computer on our laps, or even worse, walking around the house! Maybe this week my husband and I can present ourselves a little better. During this time I miss my church family soooo badly and I’m very grateful for technology even though I’m the least gifted in that area. Thank you for, once again, sharing your gift with us all! I appreciate the way you present yourself on this channel. Many UA-camrs come across as a loud, Valley Girl and it wears me out to watch. As always thank you for everything you do! 🙏🏼💕
Perfect timing! I run a large organization and we are video meeting from home. I continued with toned down professional work attire but was struggling with the device placement and lighting and where to look when I’m running meetings. Very different from my conference table, so your tips were extremely helpful. Thank you!!
I posted your video on my LinkedIn profile because it bring SO MUCH value for people who are asked to work from home now and they are not use to that. I have been working from home few years and already know how to do it but those days I am receiving so many questions regarding it - your video answering them all. Again BIG BIG THANK YOU.
Doing ok while staying put in the house since late February, although getting cabin fever and weary of being in the house for almost 2 solid months. Thank you for your videos. I look forward to them every week.
Another great video! I would say I average about 7-8 Zoom calls every business day. I want to mention that some programs like Zoom and Teams will allow you to blur your background or choose a photo for your backdrop. Comes in handy if you want to blur out any clutter, but, it won't help a backlight situation so you do need to stay mindful of your lighting! Thank you for all of your great content, hope you and your family stay well and healthy!!
Hey Dominique! I’m a 74 female and just recently discovered your tutorials.. already a real fan! If I may ask a favor, could you express your thoughts on how best to select and apply makeup for ladies in my particular age range. I’ll never quit buying “hope”! Appreciate your being there and hang on your every word! Keep up the good work!
Hello Dominique😘 Loved your tips to look & be more professional on zoom calls etc. May l say your voice is so BEAUTIFUL... precise, poised & your easy listening tone makes it so nice to hear you speak Thank you smart classy lady...keep well Your
Maybe you've heard a certain ministering woman say, "Where the mind goes, the man follows." It's so true! Loved your wise words today, especially about cutting out the vulgarity, (which is good rule for any conversation!) , and keeping your mind focused on the positive, and might I add, counting your blessings every day. There is always something to be thankful for! Today, among other things, I'm thankful for you and your wise words.
Dominique, you are such a breath of fresh air during these crazy and uncertain times. Love how you've tailored your messages and yet always full of hope and light. Just the tonic we all need now. God bless and stay safe and healthy! 🥰😘
Thank you for this. Everything you said needed to be said. One thing I've noticed in some meetings is people will use a background provided by Zoom, yet the light in front of their faces isn't bright enough, so it looks like they're floating around in their background. If you can't face a window due to where you need to sit for the call, then put two lamps on either side and in front of you (but not in the shot). And for those people who are on their phones on Zoom, don't be walking around the house. Last week I was on a call and some woman was doing laundry and her phone was all over the place...very distracting.
Very timely post! Just before watching your video, I was on a ZOOM call and wasn't happy with how I looked. I'm going to try and implement some of your strategies for my 6:30 call. Thank you!
Thank you Dominique, i just shared this video in our group as we are having difficulty using it in our Friday service & our prayer meeting. Indeed, with this situation our Faith should be bigger than anything else. God bless you, keep safe
Great tips - I found that the ones making the greatest impact are audio, lighting, the angle of the camera to one's face and looking into the lens when speaking. Brilliant explanation.
This is so-o-o relevant! I have been using Zoom for several hours each day, and we have gotten into it for family calls as well. So easy to learn. And I have definitely found that lighting matters and loved the simple tip of the height of the camera. Thanks!!
Just to let you now that I use your videos as a teaching tool with my ESL students. You have a growing audience in Canada. Thank you for your professionalism and authenticity.
As always, so relevant in reminding what is best for online or virtual meetings. Our bible study is virtual and I didn't realize a window behind me isn't the best. I will be sure to position myself where the light is on my face to avoid my looking like a shadow. I love the " Brady Bunch" reference. I have done that when a participant is speaking, my eyes will roam to that individual. Thank you thank you!!! Perhaps for a future idea, how to control stress and anxiety during this difficult time. Prayer and music have been helpful for me always. Stay well We must remember we are blessed and He will see us through 🙏🏻 Be well everyone!
I'm beyond happy to see this topic. Appreciate the time invested to show all us gals how to do it! Thank you so much Dominique. You and your talent are much appreciated. Many blessings to you and your family.
@@heathervalentine8222 Thank you! I defended successfully. My research is on psycholinguistics and bilingualism, how learning a language changes our mental process and working memory capacity
@@ranafety5845 Fascinating!! I am sure that will support the argument for learning another language. That is why Europeans are so smart as they grow up multilingual. Congratulations, Doctor!! Go forth and change the world.
Me too. I needed all the tips. I'm buying a microphone and moving my office desk to another position tomorrow morning. And turning OFF the overhead light!!
My sister forwarded your link and I'm so grateful! Wonderful suggestions as we move into this new way of working and so elegantly presented and inspiring! Bravo!
The wireless earbuds used as a microphone is really great idea. Never thought of that! Great overall advice. I put my iPad on a shoe box and have natural light available. Great video...
No matter the subject of your videos we can always count with your wise words of advice Dominique. Thank you 🙏 we need more people like you in this world 😘
Amazing! Tomorrow night we are to do a zoom family discussion. It’s my husband’s family so 9 brothers and sisters from all over the country. Would never have known this. Have been on tv many times and they took care of light and sound.. uncanny timing!
Especially at this time it is so wonderful to have you to guide us. Just watching you makes me feel so calm and reassured. I smile through out the entire video. I feel at though you truly care about all of us and for that I cannot thank you enough.
Thank you for bringing these videos. They are a great resource for when I am needing guidance and there is no better person than someone who knows what they are saying and can be relatable. Stay safe and be well.
Thank you for delivering practical tips on video conferencing, along w/ good manners and elegance, "optimism, joy, and information". Love the "right the shift" advice. Methinks you are a Christian...no better joy and good perspective than that, thanks for being a strong example of faith and classiness.
Thank you Dominique - agree 100% 👌 Showing self respect as well as respect to those you are interacting with. Awesome vlog classy lady ⚜. Have a lovely Easter - keep safe. Beautiful blessings Mandy 👑SA
This is excellent ❤️ I personally have not “zoomed” but, I do need to do a capstone video for my college class so this is very helpful. Thank you SO much for this video 🙏
You are such a classic and classy person, Dominique!! I discovered your channel a couple of months ago and I’m always blown away with your subject matter, expertise, advice and your big heart! Thank you for sharing your many blessings with your audience each week. I learn so much from you and it is obvious you invest a great deal of energy, time and love in your videos. Keep it up!
I’m trying to spend time fixing my skin during self-isolation (ie: paying extra attention to wrinkles, getting rid of dark spots, exfoliating more...) a video about facials we can do now that we’re all make-up free would be fun and helpful!
Have been watching you for a long time, Dominique. Just wanted to say THANK YOU. I appreciate your excellent advice and love watching you. Your messages, tips and tutorials are always delivered with clarity and a can-do spirit. Just a joy to watch and learn from you. Again, THANK YOU for all you do and share.
thanks...great tips. Might have to get myself a little clip-on microphone. Its the little things that make all the difference, keep it simple!!! cheers and keep at it
Dearest Miss @Dominique Sachse , thank you so much for this practical video that was so professionally shot, edited, and prepared with so much heart! I've been struggling with all these online Zoom / Google Meet video calls and online classes so this is such a timely video. Please know that we are always praying for you and your family. We wish you more success, health, and safety! ❤️❤️❤️
I've researched a lot of videos on these topics. Hands-down this is the very best one! Perfect advice on each topic, presented simply and concisely. Bravo!
Great tips (and lighting!) in this video. Loved how Dominique is well-lit, so looks colourful, whereas the background (fireplace etc) is dimmer, so has greyer tones.
Thank you for the tips. i might get on zoom tomorrow so this vlog is timely. An aside, I wondered why I seem to be looking up everyone's noses on media. Now I know.
Thank you Dominique. I am an older woman very similar to your mother so I would like to see more mother-daughter videos if possible. I thoroughly enjoy your videos and always great advice. Staying in with COVID everyday I try a new makeup “tricks”every day and I am having fun with that. My hair is white and usually I wear it very short, but again to take advantage of COVID I am letting my hair grow a bit. love your hair and you are so pretty. Keep up the good videos👍
Video suggestion: A lot of us are used to work attire but we have very little “Stay-In-Place” attire ideas for day after day. Any tips you can share would be greatly appreciated! Hugs! 💕💗💕
Muito obrigada, Dominique , as suas dicas vieram na altura certa . Estamos a usar o zoom, e temos tido alguma dificuldade. Vou aplicar as suas dicas . Um grande abraço. 😍
Always looking forward to your videos especially now. I would like to thank you for all you do. Can you take into consideration to make a video on how to create stylish face masks and how to do make up considering out mouths will be covered for a long time?
Great tips for those of you who are working at home, and communicating with others online, Dominique! I have been home since February 20th, so I hope this quarantining is done properly, as a whole this first time, so we can return to a new normal fairly soon. We Canadians wait all winter, in anticipation of coming out of hibernation to enjoy better weather in Spring, and Snap, we now have to wait even longer...I hope things are going well for you, and I wish you, and yours a glorious Easter holiday! Canadian love, hug, and best wishes, Dominique, Sherrey💕💗💕
hes a PE teacher and doing his best. That's Very rude of you. He needs to push students who are at their cozy homes. It's pretty hard, and aggravating to deal with almost 30 wild kids on a zoom call.
Makunda Thapa Haha!! Oh he thinks it’s hilarious too. We laugh about it all the time. 😉He is doing a FANTASTIC job! He’s my hero. But thanks for standing up for him. 😉🙃💕
Dearest Dominique, I consider you to be a friend and sense that you are a spiritual person and that you recognize the blessings in your life and do not take them for granted. I just love your videos and watch them regularly and some more than others just to recap the information. The tips you suggested on using Zoom are very informative and we as a family have learn a lot by trial and error using Zoom. My husband and I have 4 daughters and 14 grands and we are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, and we have been having our church services as families via Zoom and having wonderful spiritual experiences thanks to technology. The prophet of our church, President Russell M. Nelson has asked us to share this message and because you are my friend I thought it appropriate. Quote, "I invite all, including those not of our faith to fast and pray on Good Friday April 10th that the present pandemic may be controlled, caregivers protected, the economy strengthened, and life normalized. How do we fast? Two meals or a period of 24 hours is customary. But you decide, what would constitute a sacrifice for you. As you remember the supreme sacrifice the Savior made for you. Let us unite in pleading for healing throughout the world." End quote. I believe there is strength in numbers especially in prayer. God bless you and your family and Happy Easter. Love you!
You are a great person and your spirit is glowing! Thank you for using your passion and talent to share with other women and encouraging us to keep it classy! God Bless You!
@@beverlyhale9687 Zoom is a video communication tool that allows people to talk to each other using a phone camera, laptop or ipad. You can sit at home and still see other people on your device.
Thank you Dominique! Im a teacher and I just started zoom with parents and students. Great tips to look good and professional. Thank ypu
Dominique is the VERY best at what she does! I absolutely LOVE her tips and home decor...lovely lady both inside and out❤

Excellent recommendations to use the camera. That helps a lot thank you Dominic
Once again you shine! So professional, elegant, dignified, intelligent, charming ..... Thank you!
Thank you for the tips! I'm defending my doctoral dissertation tomorrow via zoom, this video was perfect timing for me.
Good look
Oh wow!! that is a big deal. What is your research on? Magnificent achievement.
Dominique you look really great and beautiful. Congratulations and blessings.
Gosh, I needed this info! For meetings. THANK YOU, SO MUCH!
Me too. I needed all the tips. I'm buying a microphone and moving my office desk to another position tomorrow morning. And turning OFF the overhead light!!
@@jms7300 you give me zoom link 7488906453
My sister forwarded your link and I'm so grateful! Wonderful suggestions as we move into this new way of working and so elegantly presented and inspiring! Bravo!
I loved this!! I wished I had this yesterday when I had my family’s Passover seder!!
Love you Dominique
xo’s
Impressed...with your sense of humour Dominique !! god bless
The wireless earbuds used as a microphone is really great idea. Never thought of that! Great overall advice. I put my iPad on a shoe box and have natural light available. Great video...
You are such an angel at this difficult time. Such a gift. Thank you for all the practical tips. Will use them all.
This was so appropriate! Thank you thank you! Perfect for me - I am going to use all of your pointers! Thank you, again. Stay healthy.
Thank you Dominque, as always. You are so gracious is all you say and so. I can always use a refresher. Great ideas. Warm blessings fro AZ.
Such great tips! Always love your videos. I hope you and your family are doing well, lots of love to you xoxo
Thanks Dominique, perfect timing and oh so positive!
Thank you for bringing these videos. They are a great resource for when I am needing guidance and there is no better person than someone who knows what they are saying and can be relatable. Stay safe and be well.
Excellent material - I've taken this opportunity to share this with my two young adult children as they are in a professional atmosphere using "zoom"
I always love your high level of integrity. Your videos are insightful and most helpful. Thank you Dominique.
Keep it up!
Hey Dominique! Can you please make a video on staying healthy in quarantine? Maybe a recipe or two that you recommend? 💕🌴✨
Thank you Dominique. A skill set is always good. Thank you for being helpful
I’m trying to spend time fixing my skin during self-isolation (ie: paying extra attention to wrinkles, getting rid of dark spots, exfoliating more...) a video about facials we can do now that we’re all make-up free would be fun and helpful!
You are the best in the UA-cam tutorial business! You never disappoint!
Thanks Dominique. Loved the tips, and needed to hear the encouragement at the end of the video. Stay well, bold and blessed. 💖
Always so positive Dominique💖thank you😘
I love your haircut, when we can finally go back to salons I may cut mine the same way. xo
I’m Zooming with my family later today! Thank you for this!!!💛😃✨
I've researched a lot of videos on these topics. Hands-down this is the very best one! Perfect advice on each topic, presented simply and concisely. Bravo!
Great advices to use the camera - thank you from a lot of us "worker at home"
Great tips (and lighting!) in this video. Loved how Dominique is well-lit, so looks colourful, whereas the background (fireplace etc) is dimmer, so has greyer tones.
Thank you for the tips. i might get on zoom tomorrow so this vlog is timely. An aside, I wondered why I seem to be looking up everyone's noses on media. Now I know.
Very much appreciate not only the Zoom tips but your very caring words at the end. Thank you! Blessings!
Great video Dominique. Maybe a work out video for next week. We could all do it together maybe? Yoga starter class? I’ll watch anything anyways 😆
Video suggestion:
A lot of us are used to work attire but we have very little “Stay-In-Place” attire ideas for day after day. Any tips you can share would be greatly appreciated! Hugs! 💕💗💕
That's right! I would enjoy a few recommendations too! ✩✩✩
Me too! How to still look good while wearing what is considered lounge wear or weekend attire. I have not put on a pair of pants or jeans in weeks.
Talbot's has a line called T by Talbot's. I watch their sales and am stocking up. They are super comfy and still classy.
Good idea!
I love your style videos. Would love to see more!
Thank you for another thoughtful and inspiring presentation, Dominique. So grateful to have found your channel here.
Muito obrigada, Dominique , as suas dicas vieram na altura certa . Estamos a usar o zoom, e temos tido alguma dificuldade. Vou aplicar as suas dicas . Um grande abraço. 😍
Very professional presentation. Excellent, modulated voice and fashion sense.
And don’t yell. Haha! My husband is teaching PE on zoom and I can hear him across the house. Lol
Hahaha! :)
hes a PE teacher and doing his best.
Well thank you @spirals 73! You’re too kind!! We have a blast, for sure. God has blessed me for sure!!
I JUST FOUND YOU & I LOVE YOU!!! THE MAKE-UP TIPS HAVE BEEN GREAT!!! YOU ARE GREAT AT EVERYTHING!!!
Oh my gosh, I need this so badly!!! I look horrible on Zoom! Eek! I've started wearing pretty scarves to cover all the gray.
Agreed--scarves to the rescue! They're good camouflagers and draw the eye away from stuff we don't want people to focus on.
What in heavens name is zoom
@@beverlyhale9687 Zoom is a video communication tool that allows people to talk to each other using a phone camera, laptop or ipad. You can sit at home and still see other people on your device. Are you familiar with FaceTime on your phone? Zoom is similar but with a group of people. I did a Zoom session with 98 people last week. DROVE ME CRAZY!!!
@@carolmiller2694 Great point!
