This episode reminds me of a family that live in my town. The stepfather had an affair with his stepdaughter, and her mum found out. It tore the family apart. The mum and stepfather divorced, and the stepfather married his stepdaughter 🙄 The mum and daughter are now estranged, and all over a man that doesn't deserve them in the first place. Sure legally it's not a crime, but morally it is wrong. I don't know how the daughter could do that to her mum, and the stepfather probably groomed the stepdaughter.
It's so repulsive. I had something similar happen in my family. My former uncle in law married my Grandma, his wife's Mother. He's now Grandpa in law, we all despise him. My poor aunt has to see him every holiday. He's after our Grandma's money, jokes on him though.
@@allyb3510 Woody Allen is very creepy and I don't like him at all, but at least he didn't marry the biological daughter of his ex-wife. The sheer amount of Lolita references here blew my mind when i first saw the episode. Hayes the landlady mom being 1 to 1 with Charlotte Haze, the foreign writer in the spare room, Virginia being the name of Dolores's friend, the fact homey was a travel writer was indicative of the cross country travels of Lo and Hum, the flowers, even Virginia killing Schiller was almost a way to discuss Humbert feeling like he was killed when she did leave. So many parallels
Yeah, except Lolita was a tragedy. The narrator is clearly unreliable and the girl is a victim. The girl later dies in childbirth, and it's implied as a result of her body being in some way damaged from being sexually abused.
I miss that type of writing, the wild whimsical characters like Mrs. Hayes - played by a seasoned, recognizable actress - that would add some levity and humour to an overall serious and murderous story of Law & Order.
His attitude is spot-on. Tiny blueberry muffins are a cheapskate crime. At least make them wide & shallow so ya have more muffin top than muffin bottom. Chit-chat is interminable inanity. Poor guy. 😂
I think this is the first episode where we begin to see Stabler's inability to keep work life and home life separate. The landlady's daughter is the same age as his own. Olivia was able to understand some of the landlady's daughter's way of thinking because she had them herself. Stabler wasn't able to because he didn't see the landlady's daughter. He saw his own. That was the beginning of how complicated things were at home for Stabler, and how his work life affected his personal life.
She could tell that guy when his train was leaving and where it was but she took the wrong train home.... yeah sure lol. I never saw this episode so I'm guessing she did it, love Lynn Collins tho!

Man...when people start saying things like "Capital R" something, or "Capital" fill in whichever letter, you know what you're watching is nostalgic. Takes me straight back to the 90's, every time. No one hardly ever has this kind of "capital" phonetic of language anymore.
Correction for train geeks at 4:09: Katonah is on the Metro-North Harlem line, not the "North Brewster" line. I'm not sure when this was filmed, but for many years, the final stop for many Harlem line trains was "Brewster North", but now the station is called "Southeast".
