    Will definitely be looking forward to this series a lot. What I will recommend is a shift kit for the tranny if you're looking for firm and not so lazy shifts, instead of bumping line pressure. That's the way I have my mercury set up. My shifts are firm and quick underload because of my adjusted accumulators and plate passageways, but my tune still has fairly stock pressures. I'm able to have great engagement and shift feel without bumping pressures.

    did a dyno on my 07 Tahoe after I put a low lift cam in. Biggest mistake was tires were s rated. once I went to 127 mph I develop 3 big wrinkles not to mention my cats were getting too hot. So after 3 pulls I was done for the day. I only got 300 hp and forgot the torque values. Going to put long tubes on and delete the rear o2 Sensors and go with 93 octane. Eventually I want 450 at the wheel so I will need to install a pro charger to get that.

    If you're looking for power, id add a turbo on it, port the intake and heads, put a set of headers on it, go with a slightly bigger set of injectors, add a cam, tune it by advancing timing and adding fueling, get the perfect AFR, tune the TCM to optimize the shift points, and run her on 93. Those 4.6s are stout bastards. They're akin to a Chevy 350 in the amount of beating and abuse they can take without giving any problems.

    In my opinion the limiting factor on the 4.6 2 valve is the valve to piston clearance. I had used the Trick Flow heads that moved the valves to the deeper side for a bigger cam. It was all good until I dropped a valve so that came to an end (took them 1 year to make my heads, nah I'll pass). Next time I'll just use aftermarket pistons...

      @1997obspsd 3 роки тому

      If it's rated at 239 That means it's right on the money because you got to expect 15 to 20% drivetrain loss and I usually cut the difference unless it's in that truck at 18% and 18% of that would be close to 190 to 195 rwhp.

    Me love the tune on my 2014. Got a quality tune from a reputable vendor, especially since I have an automatic Mustang. Generally I leave it on 87 tune and set the shift fitness to stock pressures. Runs around a ok. Upping the line pressure makes bark more but introduces a light low speed driveline clunk, which is annoying.

    I told you that speed limiter would be an issue during tuning, and removed. It would be easier to Dyno if they changed the shift points, so they can lock it into a gear over a set speed, it won't downshift. Mine won't go into 2nd over 60, locks in OD over ~85.
    Did they deactivate the rear O2 as well?

    • @FordBossMe
      @FordBossMe  3 роки тому +1

      SCT is good stuff, I forget the model I had, but it came with their OBD-II scanner that would allow me to upload a tune or put it back to factory. I don't remember if I paid extra or if the one I got had the individual software for me to make my own tuning changes. I could change the air intake & MAF, injectors, trans shift points, lots of stuff if I wanted. It was nice to do simple stuff and not have to pay for another visit to the tuner. My(our) vehicles aren't going onto their website to get attention and more customers, they like the LS and Coyote vehicles with big dyno numbers or drag times for promotional needs. A Ford Bronco and Lincoln Town Car. Does your SCT module have a USB port on the side for a laptop and wideband oxygen sensor?

    • @RJ_Cormac
      @RJ_Cormac 3 роки тому

      @@FordBossMe it's really hard to Dyno a vehicle that won't stay in the 1:1 transmission gear. Manuals are best, old slush boxes need their special 2-1-2 gear selector move (or whatever it takes) to make the valve body stay in the preferred gear.
      You should drop the trans, and do your own valve body and spring refresh. I'm sure you can handle that in 20 minutes, I spent 2 hours because I was afraid of moving a check ball or losing it. 😁🤯

You'd have to get someone like Darrel Wyngard, John Lund or Rob Shoemaker to tune you at that point. That shit canned tune won't throw hardly any timing in the car for e85 and interested to see if there's any thrown in it with the 93. I'd go supercharger all day long. That engine can hold 450 rwhp.

      I want it but then after looking at the price and comparing to what they're actually paying for it which is only about 60% I'm not sure if I'm going to go that route

    Nonsense about a disappointing 2 valve. The low hp is from the lack of bs making it unreliable. I wouldn't worry too much about power she's a cruiser anyway. I'm surprised ford even put v8's as standard in their panther platforms and not the Essex v6 as standard then go to an optional v8.

      I meant disappointing in the effort of not seeing bigger numbers for you guys I absolutely love the car though I don't care if it's low horsepower or not

      @@FordBossMe wasn't that bad. The 2v v8's always prioritized torque and your 4.6 isn't far off spec. As long as she looks and rides good, sounds good and isn't a turtle which she ain't I'd be happy.

    Nice video. The HP & TQ numbers you got are about what the 4.6L 2V gets. Imagine how much worse they would have been if the hood was closed, like it is when you drive the car? I didn't care for the SCT tune for my '08 P71. The modified transmission pressures, shift points, and overall behavior were way too aggressive. The car would kick out sideways a little under moderate throttle in the rain or snow. In my opinion, Ford had the P71 transmission parameters set correctly, and far better than the civilian parameters. I would like to suggest that if you're running any rear end gear ration higher then 3.55, to get a rear lube modification for the transmission like - www.bcawebstore.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=10 For the original AOD, Ford came up with an "Improved rear lube" kit that became standard starting in 1988.
