I should have bought one of these. I got a M.O.R.E bracket which relocated the box and I have to cut a chunk out of the crossmember for the hose lines. lot more work for no real reason that I can see. Jeep crossmember is weak enough without having to hack it. 5 stars for this bracket 2 stars for MORE mostly for weight and hardware.
MORE has 2 styles. Stock location and forward 1 inch. The forward unit is to give clearance when you flip the tie rod and drag link using larger rods. If you have 1.25" Tie Rod and Drag link flipped to the top of the kuckle, the drag link will interfere with the tie rod.
The stock mount is bent around the shackle mount and this product is flat steel. Like @YashaUSA, I can't see how the two are compatible without a spacer under your new mount. Can you clarify? @@FishboneOffroad
I see they didn't reply to your question @fishboneoffroad the shackle has to be taken off because the same two bolts that hold the oem steering mount. only way I can see this to work is you put a spacer between the shackle mount and the frame and now you are off by 3/8" on one side I'm thinking this is a poor design
They just didn't include it in the final assembly video. You can see they are using a beater Jeep to simply illustrate the process. In the intro, the shackle itself is cut in half. Also, the mount doesn't need to be removed. The bolt furthest forward will keep it in place. The fishbone mount works/installs exactly like the factory unit, just way more stout.
This is more of a replacement if your factory one is broken, but there are two key advantages: 1) It's made of thicker steel than factory, & 2) It adds an additional bolt mounting point, which is useful if your frame is either damaged or rusting away and can't support an OEM mount on its own
The stock two piece mount is prone to cracking. Cracks aren't always obvious but can manifest as sloppy steering feel or wandering issues. I replaced mine with an aftermarket mount like this one (different brand) thinking I was just upgrading to a thicker bracket only to find mine original one had indeed cracked though I couldn't see it until it was disassembled. Highly recommend this mount or similar.

What happens to the shackle mount? I see it in the before shots but in the after shots the shackle mount is missing
That frame was used in many videos, and it was unrealistic to uninstall, reinstall, uninstall, and so on

Seriously, it's there at 2:10 and gone by 2:15
Did you ever get a good answer?

What is the advantages of your system over the stock?
