I hope you win the 2024 competition too. It's well deserved. And what's more, you share your work with us. Well, good luck. And I'm sure you'll have a great career.🙏🙏
Another amazing painting! It was great meeting you at the Easton waterfowl festival. You are just as authentic and approachable in real life as you appear on your videos. Thank you for taking the time and sharing your process and amazing talent. Wishing you and yours the very best!
That’s beautiful. Congratulations! Working with a limited palette is something I should embrace more often. And one brush for the whole piece-just wow!
I use a flat brush for blocking in, but I do like the dagger for most of it. The limited is fun, but I think a high quality paint set is very helpful when limiting colors since their pigment load is higher. Thank you!
This is incredibly beautiful work. To have your mind see such a wonderful scene is one thing, but being able to bring it forth and capture your vision on canvas is something very special indeed.
I am amazed at this painting. Have you ever painted a loon? They are my favorite birds, and I love hearing them from my house. I find them very beautiful, and I think they would look great in some of your paintings. Again, it is amazing that you are able to paint this stuff!
Awesome art Chuck. Congrats on the win! I have my entry nearly ready to go already for next year. I will likely do another to see which I like best, but I always have a hard time deciding which to enter. Good to keep painting and learning. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and Family!
Thank you! Nice, I finished mine for the first time about 2 months before this year and being able to set it aside and come back to it a month later with fresh eyes really helped. Hoping you do well! Thank you and Merry Christmas
I just posted this video, I'm hoping other artists can still learn from these hour long videos. Thank you for following and supporting me through the years. I've always tried giving as much of my time away as possible.
It's just sienna and red oxide right out of the tube. I use it to sketch the composition and establish value. Using a warm color is complimentary to what I'll paint over it with
I would have made the cloud on the right a lot smaller, for more perspective. I think it make the sky look heavy and it like fights with the mountain. When that said, i really like your art.
I would love to talk to you...at the very least have a conversation...I am not at this level of artistic that you are at, but I think I see this from a different perspective from the majority of your viewers. I see in every stroke of hour detailed painting the electrons that make the bonds that form the structure that you make. I'm a chemist at heart. But I am also SOOOOOO lost at how you see the end picture you are aiming for before you put paint to canvas, I can understand colors and structural bonds, but im so lost on how you visitualize what you want and then paint it im shutting up, good for you, im so impressed
I recently started implementing the imprimatura into my painting process and I wish I had done it much sooner. The quality of my work has grown exponentially. Nothing like your yours but I’m improving lol. Question… Is that a transparent earth red you’re using in the under painting? It’s a go to for me now.
hi beautiful painting,i like to learn from you mixing paints to create many color.in most of your painting tutorial you do not ,show which paints you mix to accept the color you are using.

What is the brouwn color layer at the beginng?
Can you explain how to use it before you paint on it?
It's just sienna and red oxide right out of the tube. I use it to sketch the composition and establish value. Using a warm color is complimentary to what I'll paint over it with
I also want to become professional artist like you ❤

would be nice if you explained what you are doing...how did you prep the canvas..what is that thing you are using to wipe off color etc....

Great work❤ I have a question that why you paint first in redish brown color and then change the color?
This painting reminds me a lot of your other painting "Nothing like it" Did you use the same reference material?
You are so talented your art is beautiful 🥰
When you paint the background in kind of orange, is that with oil or acrylic?
oil straight from the tube, thank you!
I recently started implementing the imprimatura into my painting process and I wish I had done it much sooner. The quality of my work has grown exponentially. Nothing like your yours but I’m improving lol.
Question…
Is that a transparent earth red you’re using in the under painting? It’s a go to for me now.
i hope your right hand is ok ! and the glove is purely for id purpose !
Thanks again for sharing! Question. Are you using oils now 100% No longer acrylics? Just wondered. Merry Christmas to you and your wife! :)
