I needed the 2 from 3 thinking the qauility for recording would be improved...it still sucks and has unfixable audio delay I know shocker

I'm so sorry. I've been in technology since the 70's. We do get an attachment to the technology we owned and become obsolete when supporting them are not in the company's focus.

@@vadnegru been using for pcvr since day one. Still works surprisingly well. Apart from some abysmal tracking every once in a while
@@vadnegruThe quest 1 isn’t good at PCVR. At least not with the link cable. I’ve had so many problems with it. I have a quest 3 now and link connects basically instantly instead of 10 minutes of loading.
@@danielkleimenovas9484My comment refers to OLED screen with good contrast. I could not connect my Q2, but i only had USB2 cables. Honestly, Virtual Desktop was ok for me. And yes, i didn't connect my Quest 3, grinding native library for now, because it's getting hot in a room with PC.
I’ve had a quest 1 since it launched! Probably will be updating to a quest 3 or a quest pro 2
if your on a buget i would wait for the quest 3 lite
@@VrIndieGamesShorts depends on how the lite is designed. I want pancake lenses and full color pass through, would be a major upgrade from the basically impossible to look at pass through on quest 1 and it’s Fresnel lenses

I've noticed that Quest 3 passthrough is very very tied to how well lit your room is.

Also, type of lighting is also important. If able, try different sources(incandescent, florescent, LED) to see what works best for you.

I still have the oculus quest 1 and switch recently for the quest 3, the upgrade is INSANE
They need to add an update where people can customize the “double tap” feature to do specific things that are important. Such as being able to switch from game chat to party chat when using a party and don’t want to open a menu to do so.

I noticed that if your playing with a friend and you quit the app you mow have the option to go to your home or their home and they can show up in you pass through mode and it also works in you home environments as well amd no one talks about this amazing feature

I was just about to sideload V64 because I hate how Meta Rolls out updates because not everyone get's it at the same time. But before I was gonna sideload it my headset said update avalible. I love the new Passthrough quality and as you said it is kind of a improvement and it is less grainy but it still jittery as you said when you walk. And I was shocked aswell the quality is so much better I was stairing at my carpet just looking at the details of it. I also noticed the externel microphone and that is gonna be nice cause you can use a high quality mic for content creating. Cause some of the Quest 3 units have good mics or bad mics. My one has a bad mic and I can hear myself breathing when i rewatch a recording with the mic and you can hear like ph p and puh sounds when you talk.
Mine updated when charged. Passtrough was quite dark out of the box, even compared to Quest 2 and now it's a bit darker but more detailed somehow. And yes, screens are way better now to look at.

Honestly, if they could reduce camera distortions by 50% or more (especially on the edges of objects further away) that would improve the device so much, literally what doesn't stop many people from buying Quest 3 through the passthrough is these distortions, 3D game objects poorly placed, and the delay of the 3D objects that are in your hand such as gloves, weapons, etc. (especially if you are using hand tracking), if you manage to solve these problems or improve them a lot, I see sales of Quest 3 increasing by 100%.
Still holding onto my Quest 1 for dear life. Oh, man.

Hand tracking isn’t perfect but it actually does work for playing games as this point unlike how it used to because it won’t cut out due to moving faster than 2 mph

Personally, when it comes to digital avatars, people shouldn’t be limited to what the program(or hardware if the “metaverse” become a thing, I hope it doesn’t personally) offers as customization options. If they have the skills to design, rig, and import digital clothing they should be able to use them.
I only just upgraded my Quest 1 to a Quest 3. The Quest 2 was not a big enough leap in tech to justify the cost. May I say, god I miss the blacks of the Quest 1 OLED screens over the washed out greys of the Quest 3.

It's already quite open IMO. I could sideload anything, use Quest game optimizer. I'm not sure what root will add, given that bootloader would be still blocked (most likely)

@@cheeseslicereal i heard that you could still do that from a PC or an android phone. And yes, this is not Meta's decision, it's just android hardens the security. On a phone some file managers aren't working properly if not updated.

Honestly quest one is slowing down devlopement they have to stop making stuff for them eventually. They do it with consoles almost every couple years. Quest 1 has been out for 5 years. 200 for a quest 2 is not bad and so worth it. Basically this has to happen.
