You mount your optics the same way I do as well as many U.S. Military and Special Operations do. The base is centered over the ejection port and cover on the top rail.
Longer i shoot.. the more i want to raise my optic.. heads up shooting much more comfortable.. instead of having to bend/dig ur head down super low everytime .. likely will go 1.93 soon
I use a 0.83" riser and sorta cant my AR to the left slightly, like, maybe 5-10 degrees(?). But like you said, it makes life easier on me when I shoot prone.
Ooh, so with the stuff that came in the box with it the max height was 2.075, I wonder if with this new block I can get it to 2.26 to match up with thy Unity Flip to Center magnifier mount...
@@SapperGentleman I had forgotten to do the math on it until now, but it looks like the 1.93 with the low cantilever mount ends up at 2.24, which should be close enough to work with the flip to center magnifier mount
How do I separate the riser that came on it from the actual optic? Is it locktite that is keeping it on there? I removed all the screws but it won't come off...
I think the high rise mounts like unity look a little funny but as a dude with glasses always battling staring through the rim of my glasses if the optic is too low the high rise mounts are starting to appeal to me.
Lower 1/3 gang! For guys like myself who want find co-witness height too short and 1.93/2.26" to be too high up. Also I'm too poor for NODs so a 1.93 doesn't make sense for me. LOL
@@SapperGentleman Same here. Not spending crazy money on NODs for Reddit cool points. Also I can't even own a suppressor in my state. So it is what it is.
This is good info. I'm kinda eyeing the Holosun AEMS for my carbine build and it comes in at 1.63 off the shelf. Looks high to me, but maybe in practice that'll be better? Apparently there's a lower mount in the works for it so there's a contingency plan if higher doesn't work for me 😉
Been using a high riser for a few months with my old Primary Arms micro dot. Saves your neck from so much pain

Makes sence. Especially if you use NVG or gas mask

A friend to the animals is an instant sub🇺🇸
does this 1.93" riser comes with longer torx bolts?
Yep.
After playing with heights I’ve decided 1.64” is perfect across the board. Red dots and scopes.
Larry Vickers U.S. Army 1ST SFOD-D Delta Force Ret. also does it the same way.
Thank you! Almost bought a Unity mount but this will so lol

Think this is compatible with the TA44/Mini ACOG also.
I believe so, but definitely do some Google-Fu before purchasing.

Running the block riser and one of the angled mounts? 🧐
@@SapperGentleman Probably, gonna have to do some math to figure out which combination will get the right height

@@pdxmarine1430 Keep me posted! 🤙🏽
@@SapperGentleman lol it may be a while since it appears to be out of stock everywhere at the moment
Can you use it with the cantilever mount to go even higher?
Yep.

If you've removed the 3 base screws from the bottom and it didn't come apart you may need to just apply some good ol force. 😊

Ak guys want the lowest possible mount, AR guys want an optic you can look through at hip level lol. 🤣🤣
What sling rig/accessories are you using?
That's an Edgar Sherman Design Sling, QD attached at the rear, Blue Force Gear U-Loop attachment on the handguard.
@@SapperGentleman thank you, sir! Subscribed. Great video.

Oh yeah, NODS are nowhere on my radar. 😆

I found that this optic is too narrow field of view to see my irons thataway.

But all the WoW GAMER crowds always forget one critical thing. The tip of your nose ALWAYS anchors on the charging handle.
It's not a red dot, dude.
Okay?
