I like the fact that unlike most reviewers (and even audience) you didn't joke around about these watches and actually talked about both. I like the pagani's.
IMO all the good watch designs have already been done, and anything different will just be ugly and nobody would buy them... unless you label them $250,000 retail, then someone will buy it no matter how ugly.
Other watchmakers must cry themselves to sleep when they see the quite stunning value offered by these watches. For example, I am thinking of a Tissot PRX auto. That is meant to be a 'budget' swiss watch. It is over $600. Loving the kazoo.
I bought the 42mm blue waffle dial Cadisen following your recommendation last year and am absolutely chuffed with it. The hands fit the dial much better than on the 47mm version.
Feels like it’s been a while since we had one of these head to head style videos. I agree that the Pagani just edges it but there’s so much bang for your buck with these two, you can’t really go wrong. Awesome video as always Jody 👏👏👏👏
Hi Jody, I got the PD oak, I cant believe the amount of people who have commented on it, its perfect on wrist, the light play on bracelet is like you say, amazing, blue dial, would strongly recommend, regards Dave
Yeah I was considering Tissot watches as well as other lower priced Swiss watches and trying to stay under a grand. All before discovering Aliexpress on this channel and picking up an awesome Steeldive Captain Willard and a really nice Megalith watch for less than $120 combined. Very happy and surprised with the quality of both. As far as both of this comparison you absolutely cannot go wrong with either I think.
Jody, because of one of your previous videos, I jumped on an Edifice Casioak solar powered. I am so glad I did too because I love this watch way more than I would have ever liked a modded G Shock. The thinness of the case is one of the huge selling points for me and of course it's a Casio, so fit and finish is perfect. You and Ben have deeply influenced my Casio addiction. I actually like the aesthetics of my Edifice Casioak more than the usual Royal Oak homage or even original.
I love comparison videos like this! I remember the snkl23 vs Cadisen video. I would like to see maybe a strap/ bracelet comparison video. Uncle Seiko vs Strapcode?
Ha! Love the plot twist at the end Jody! :D (because I've just picked a mechaquartz version of the Pagani for 70 bucks (VAT included!) in the recent sale event)
@@JustOneMoreWatch I just assumed that they didn't get you views, so you stopped! Nice to see one again! I was looking at getting an auto PRX - whatever it is called. Maybe I will get one of these to give the style a try first.
I think I've adequately scratched my integrated-bracelet itch with the gorgeous (though, admittedly non-budget) Direnzo Mondial in white. It's one of the sleekest watches I've ever worn. Soft, buttery smooth finishing all over, and such a stunner! 😍
what I prefer about the Cadisen is that, while being heavily inspired, it is not an exact copy. But the Pagani looks like a very solid offering overall.
Great video as usual : Could the winner go through to a playoff versus Tissot PRX and maybe we can work towards a JOMW integrated bracelet 2021 champion ?
Good comparison! One question, though: Why would you double-weight the movement and the brand when you ended up giving them both the same score anyway?
Because the criteria are set up in advance of scoring? And because the double-weighting makes a difference, even if the scores for the double-weighted criteria are identical (single-weighting them would have amplified the magnitude of the difference in scores in areas where the scores differ).
@@ohhenry2 This isn't an unboxing or first look, though. This is a comparison. He isn't bound by his initial impressions. If the criteria were set up in advance, and then he did the comparison and found they weren't different enough in that category, he could've thrown out the double-weighting. As to your second point, I suppose it depends on what the purpose of the comparison is. If the purpose was to give two separate reviews, just in the same video, I could see that as being a valid way to look at things. But if you're pitting them *against* each other, wouldn't you *want* the differences between them amplified? Wouldn't you want the better watch to really be set apart? I suppose it depends on how you look at it, but I kind of see that as obscuring the differences between the two.
Jodi, I love the comparison format you used here, it very much reminds me of the format used by my favorite car magazine, Car and Driver. Keep 'em coming!
I got my son a Didun Design quartz version of this watch on Ebay, screw down crown and the bracelet is amazing ... cost £30.00 new ... if it was for me I would buy the Pagani ☺
Great review as always, Jody! I like the fact that brands like Cadisen, Pagani Design and such are slowly going towards making real homages that have something of their own. These two are great examples, both of them look alike, but not like an AP. I hope they will continue going this route
Hey Jody how about a brand called FIECE Openworked Roya Oak clomage/homage? It's quite amazing for around $190. Very nice finishing but as you said lume is junk around this price. But still if you get contacted by them can you review it? Average Bros did a review of it. Cheers!
I bought an earnshaw discovery a couple of days ago, royal oak case, bracelet...it was in a weak moment I admit but first impressions are its not bad...quite weighty and Meca quartz movement...paid just over £90 UK.
I love the looks of it too but honestly I have enough conversation starter quartz models so that's the drawback for me. I'm really only looking for hand wind or automatics to play with while bored in a meeting haha.
I have the mega quartz. It does look better imo. I got the panda one, very comfortable and kinda sporty which helps breaking the wrist presence caused by the wider ss bracelet. Readability in the panda version might be bothersome for ppl.
Interesting comparison. I have the Cadisen with the blue dial I bought slightly used from a Facebook group for $40 USD shipped. I definitely generally prefer smaller and less bulky watches and I think I've only worn this one maybe three or four times. It's just too big for my preference. Having said that, other than the slightly rubbish bracelet, it's not really a bad watch. I do think I prefer the dial, hands and indices of my Cadisen to those on the Pagani but with a watch like this, it's really all about the bracelet and the Pagani is obviously better. I never would have bought either of these at full price but for someone looking for this sort of wrist presence... that Pagani looks pretty nice.
Thanks for mentioning the quartz watch. I am looking for a quartz movement that is built well and looks good with a dress. Well, too bad cadison does not bring any decent quartz watch. Maybe I will wait.
Oh that mecaquartz is good. I was thinking I'd go for the Pagani if it had slightly better lume and a screw down crown, but I can look past those on a chrono that's a few dollars cheaper! Great comparison as always.
