It is the first link on the bracelet that flares out wider than the lug. Apparently the watch was originally designed as 42mm but was sized down to 40mm. They went on to release it with the crappy bracelet and RO fan like me still bought it LOL
I have a 6.3inch wrist and can still wear it comfortably although it is a bit loose as butterfly clasp means you have less chance of getting the perfect fit
