Frieren being called that "side quest" anime is hilarious because it's that one anime all about side quests yet it's better than 90% of any other anime out there without side quests 😂

Frieren is really great anime but it's not a reaction type anime. It's not good for reactions.
Btw Gigguk edits all of the videos on his main channel himself. He's said before that he doesn't hire editors for his main videos since he has a very specific effect that he wants to go for with his editing, music choice, and scripting
check the description of gigguk's video. he does get some help by a couple professional editors.

TRIGUN STAMPEDE HANDS DOWN!!!!!! IT WAS AMAZING, ALL THE 12 EPISODES FELT LIKE A MOVIE! I loved it so so much especially with how it referenced so many manga happenings. Trigun Stampede is something entirely different and I adore that. Studio Orange did an immaculate job not only with the score, the cinematography and the animation, but also with the added new lore, new setting, new vibes and the adjustments of the timeline, playing with it to tell a brand new story. It was super cool and I really really recommend watching it! Maybe even reacting to it? 👀👀👀 It's very underappreciated and deserves so much praise I swear... It's only 12 episodes but it feels so large in its wholeness, the finale is especially breathtaking.

Yes! Why is it not 1 or two? It and vinland were easily the best this year, by a long shot. Just that run by Regein at the end made me burst out and grown man cry. The best episode is in season 2, but s3 is fire the whole fucking way.

Yes!! Vinland Saga is my top anime! I understand that Attack on Titan is a substandard masterpiece. I love it! However, it is Vinland Saga that left the quietest and deepest message in my heart. It's hard to choose.
Gigguk mostly used english dub in his videos to avoid copyright, en dub anime clips are not that restrict to copyright than the jp dub.
Vinland was best of 2023 but my favorite personally was blue lock
Someone mentioned Saiki K....It is the best comedy in existence....Consider watching it.

Best opening song visually and the music as well. This season of Link Click was one of the few shows that made me cry. I don't care if it's not anime it can easily hold its own among the top animes this year

oshi no ko manga was already popular before the anime came out lol...since it was written by the one who wrote kaguya sama love is war. He originally wanted to write horror story but his manager basically wanted him to go easy on his first manga so he wrote a rom com kaguya sama. which turned out to be good, so he wanted to write another piece with more psychologicial stuff going on
55:41 You're wrong btw, Frieren is not a slice of life anime, it's kinda like slice of life, but the story progress so much in such short period of time that there's so much happening, even a hype af fight scenes too. The one that is good but not worth reacting is Delicious in Dungeons, that one is definitely a slice of life anime.

5:10 On a second watch, "The Boy and the Heron" (this time in English Dub) was actually pretty fun. I actually liked it more than the Japanese version.
The first time I saw it I was disappointed too, trying to understand why people say it was his best work yet, but while I no longer think it's horrible, it's nowhere near Princess Mononoke.
Still, pretty good film in English. The Voice Cast killed it, especially Robert Pattinson as the Heron!

Nick, I’m not sure if you’re aware but Thorfinn was a real guy. We don’t know much about the real historical Thorfinn karlsefni thordarson but we do know that him, his wife, and a group of pioneers were some of the first people to attempt to settle in the American continents, also known as Vinland.
One piece was at peak in 2023 and it's gonna be more peak in 2024
My fav animé of 2023 is without hesitating FRIEREN! It's amazing! Some poeple say the first episodes are a bit boring, I disagree. It's the pace seems slow at the start when it's actually fast and it creates a realistic attachment to the characters. Then from episode 8 it doesn't stop getting better and better and better and BETTER. It's a masterpiece. It's beautiful, characters are perfectly written, the story is mysterious and very well written too. It's the animé of relationships between characters and emotions. There is action but it's not the main focus of this animé even if the music and the animation of action scenes are f*cking outstanding

I loved Vinland Saga best, but Pluto is such a respectable choice as well... I feel like the philosophy of these two works are in agreement, even if they both come at their message from very very different angles. it makes so much sense to love both of them... god, I can't rank things at all actually, I'm just so happy we've had such quality art this year.

It has to be FRIEREN for me . Vinland saga is also close but it had some issues in some episodes . But with frieren i have like 0 complaints . Every episode is just a masterpiece with great storytelling , pacing , visuals and most of all the life lessons and character development . Ooohhh.... It really came out to be one of the best shows i watched in 2023 ( unexpectedly ) .

Ngl I would absolutely LOVE to see you react to Trigun Stampede! Honestly, I love both the og and the new versions a lot! Stampede is less of a remake of the anime and more of a retelling of the manga
Tristamp is one of the few animes that I think the eng dub is just as good as the jp sub
(fun fact, they brought back the og eng voice actor for Vash from the 98 anime to voice in stampede and seeing how he's improved is great!)
I definitely recommend giving it a watch!!

Honestly, Nick should give donghua a chance. Clearly Gigguk has seen Mó Dào Zǔ Shī. Pretty high praise if you ask me. There’s action, politics, war, betrayal, plot-twists, mystery, tragedy, good, evil, grey, and bit of comedy.

If you react to Frieren be ready to cry, to laugh, to be mind blowned during your reactions. Yes cry because this animé hits hard at several moments and spoilers alert: the writing is sooo gooood
Watch it in SUB even if the dub version is pretty good except one point: Frieren's voice who doesn't fit her personality in my opinion. Also Fern and Stark's voices (2 other main characters) are just so perfect in Sub that it would be a pity to watch it in dub. The relationship of those two is so funny. And frieren is a funny character too in her own way. But it's not a humor show right? It's just the great writing make these characters subtly funny
If you watch it on your own you'll enjoy it but I think it is reaction worthy. It is the anti-shonen animé, it has its own genre. Frieren starts as mysterious badass mage elf, you know since the start she's a hero and as he said she finishes the main quest from the first episode so now time for side-quests and this is amazing. Actually this show has several main quests and one of them is: understanding better human emotions and relationships. This animé is at an another level, it just created its own league and set the level very high. Not a surprise it's currently the animé with the highest rating of all time even in front of Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood. It's just so good. What's funny is at the start I thought I would not like it. I'm glad I gave it a chance, I would have missed one of the best animés of all time

The anime that I remember the most from last year is definitely Eminence in Shadow. I watched many of the seasonals, but Eminence was truly the one that I enjoyed the most. I wouldn't recommend you shows I don't think are not good enough, and I think you should watch it.
