KLM Boeing B747-400 Night Landing Bangkok Cockpit view

- Опубліковано 3 жов 2024
- A night landing at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi VTBS airport on runway 19R. I tried to capture the inside of the cockpit and the outside world at the same time with a wide angle lens. I used a Panasonic TM300.
You can see the changes on the PFD when we have Localiser and Glide Slope capture and when the A/P is switched off. At the utmost righthand side of the EICAS you can see Flap and Gear annunciations.
Enjoy. - Авто та транспорт
I just watched a bunch of his videos and I love to see this view....but why the dislikes? whats to dislike about this? He goes all over the world and gives a great perspective. Thanks for sharing!
This reminds me so much of flying the PMDG 747...I really love the angle you give, makes everyone feel like they are right there in left seat! Superb approach and landing.
that's an amaaazing landing in a 15 knot head wind. You can see very little flaring done beginning at 30 feet and the VVI gradually gets to 0 when the touchdown. Greaser!
SuredT, echt enorm bedankt dat je iedereen zo laat meekijken in de cockpit! Ook KLM bedankt voor het toestaan van deze video!
A true jewel in the ocean of stones that youtube is... Thank you Captain for giving the "non-pilots / but aviation fans" the oportunity to see your experiences.
Wooow ! The best cockpitvid I´ve ever seen ! It is so awesome because you can feel like a pilot. That is what I call pilot´s view ! Thank you sooo much for doing this !!!!
SuredT, you have the greatest aviation videos on UA-cam. Can't wait for you next one. Thanks!
This is one of the best cockpit vid´s I´ve ever seen on YT ! All time favourite ! Please make more of them !
Not a pilot, but I love airplanes. Fascinating to watch the instrument panel on landings and takeoffs. Gosh, how I envy you guys that do this!
THANKS Suredt for posting these videos.
It must be very rewarding for you and your flightcrew for bringing yourself and your passengers all the way to Bangkok.
I can't think of any job out there that is more exciting.
Great aircraft, a beautiful night, an expert crew, and the best large city on the planet to be landing in!
I've watched many videos like this but never with a view of the cockpit. Excellent idea.
what an awesome job, got loads of respect for these guys
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!! Thanks for posting for all of us plane fanatics. Videos like this are great motivation.
awesome video as usual, great to have you back.
hoping more of these videos soon, at first sight you´re a great pilot.
SuredT, dude, I - like thousands of others, obviously - have been following you since your first video landing at St Maartens, and your continuing posting of awesome videos and interaction with randoms on the internet is so awesome. Cheers.
When I was flying from San Jose, California to Huntsville, Alabama,I had to change planes in Houston, Texas. I was on a small Continental commuter jet and A KLM 747, was on its take off roll while we were number 2 for the runway. I must say, it was an awesome sight being so close to that 747 while on its take off roll and its roar of the engines.
That manouver of B747 is beautiful. Like an art...
Nice to see the night landing view from the cockpit. Excellent video. Thanks for posting it. Seeing it makes me ready to book my next flight to Thailand. I'm always impressed when flying into Bangkok's Camp Swampy Intl Airport at night..
I'm planning to start the process of getting my pilots license. This is one of many motivations I get to do what I always dreamed of. I work at Pearson airport in Toronto and I see everything. For those guys who said you flew a 737 in previous videos, must feel dumb now. Unless they still can't know the difference between 747 and a 737.
I applaud you and your co-pilot
I hope you got your dream job/license!
Another great cockpit video SuredT, keep them coming!
Fantastic video - the night effect is just so beautiful, the angle is just so amazing and you landed her so skillfully - one of the best cockpit videos i've seen.
Thats one of the best night landing videos i've seen.. well done.
Stunning SuredT, your landings always look smooth as. Thanks again.
Amazingi I have flown to Bangkok many times. never seen it like this. You make some outstanding videos. Thnak you so much for posting them.
je bent geweldig man. Bedankt voor het uploaden van dit soort videos.
If you can, please make more videos. I am a suscriber and just love to watch. I am a private pilot studying for my commercial, and eventually ATP licence. Your videos are not only fun to watch but a great learning tool also. Thank you very much!
you changed the filming angle!! it's awesome to let us see the instruments!!
thanks a lot SuredT!!!
Excellent as always ! Many thanks for this video and the many others that you have allowed us to see ! Great Stuff !
I love this perspective of view, and Boeing 747-400. Thanks for sharing a wonderful video. ~
I like this video because of the balanced inside/outside view. Very nice.
Love the video! Like to see more like this, especially in HD. Keep it up!
brilliant great video...watching post like this is probably the closest I'll get to fulfilling my dream to pilot an aircraft.............dream on!
@Rafal102able. 1: It is Airline policy. 2: With autobrakes you select a certain deceleration level. The more engine reverse you use the less brakes you use and visa versa. 3: Nowadays you cannot occupy the runway too long, so you must leave the runway as soon as practicable in order to let the next plane land.
That's why we use autobrakes.
Absolutely stunning video!!!! As an avionics tech it is always amazing to see everything working together for a smooth approach and landing!!!
Thanks for answering another question, piloting looks super exciting.
nice landing Captain! Being a virtual 747-400 captain in microsoft FSX I can only be jealous! Great flying!
Beautiful landing. Pilots do well to dee the runway half the time I can never see it until it pops in view in the last seconds.
Love the little overshoot on the LOC, happy landings!
I must say I always enjoy your videos, SuredT. It's also great that you work for one of my most favorite airlines as well. :) I do like the change in format for this video as it shows more of the cockpit & allows us to see how flight operations are handled aboard the 747 especially during approach/landing procedures. The other format is also great for the vistas outside the aircraft. Hopefully you'll be able to equally do more of both in the future. Thank you for posting this! :)
Love the new camera view..... hope you keep doing them like this!
Wicked amazing as always! I'm very glad to see new videos from you! By far the coolest 747 captain out there!
@DHMaNiAc770. No, when you are on an intercept heading of about 45 degrees to the LOC you can select APP. When you are approaching the LOC, the FD will capture the LOC. When you fly manually you follow the FD. When the A/P is on, the A/P will follow the FD.
Lovely video once again, SuredT :)!
Great Video. I can't wait to fly the 747 in the Lufthansa Training Sim. I love this plane so much. LoL@ the landing checklist. " Speedbreak? armed! , landing gear? ..... aeehhhh down!......" :-D
I wish you always 3 green and happy landings!
It's definitely a great video. You've done a great job, thanks.
@voldemort2123. Very good!! There is also CAT lllA with 50 ft Decision Height and 200m horizontal visibility and CAT lllB with 20 ft Decision Height with 75 m visibility and CAT lllB with NO Decision Height but still you need the 75 m visibility, which means the pilot will see the runway when the wheels touch down on the runway.
some great flying there ,fly with ye any time lads .
Seriously, you are the best damn pilot I have ever seen! I hope to be exactly like you when I fly!
SuredT!, i've been waiting for a new video of yours forever man!, thanks for uploading.. i really enjoy watching your landings and take offs.. work work keeping the camera steady.. cheers!
@Rafal102able For each Rwy there is a weight limitation table depending on OAT. For instance a table for Rwy 24 at Schiphol: at 0 degrees the aircraft may weigh 411.000 kgs. At 65 degrees it may weigh 315.000 kgs. When actual weight is for instance 350.000 kgs the assumed temp is 50 degrees according the weight limitation table. One has to compensate for head / tailwinds and pressure of course.
7:30 masterlijk:P "en dan delta 6, en dat zal ik je effe uitleggen, das hier pas..."
"- ja wacht even, ik ben... met de bocht bezig"
translate: "Then delta 6, i'll explain, thats here..." "-yes hold on, im doing... the corner"
Awesome video, love watching these
@gilzia1. I disconnect the AT also. The reason is: If you raise the nose because you are a bit low on GS, the AT will apply power to keep the speed. But then the nose will rise even more because the engines are under the wing and more power means more nose up. So you have to fight trim changes. If you fly manually also with throttles, the human brain acts automatically when you raise the nose of the plane: you pull on the yoke->you add power and react automatically on the trim change.
Thank you, I might ask other questions later because this stuff looks fascinating. Have a good day/night flying
shhhhpeed break up! - love the accent and the movies!!
@Appleshaz. As soon as ATC disrupt the VNAV PATH mode by ordering a intermediate level-off, you can not use VNAV PATH anymore because the path will be below you. Then you can use FL CHG because you want to descent with idle power to intercept the path. You can do this by increasing the speed in the speed window. This is an easier method than flying with VNAV SPD.
great also to hear the conversation on the ground, like "wait a sec, I'm still making the turn" and stuff like that :)
@Writahman. The quickly rising purple square at the right side is set at the altitude where we are cleared to. When we have GS capture it is set at the altitude where we are supposed to climb to in case of a Go-Around.
So we don't watch that one during the approach.
Awesome video. Congratulations!!! Thank you very much for sharing. Please keep posting.
best cockpit view i've seen on youtube
you are the best pilot with the coolest vids! i am impressed! keep up the good job! :)
Love this video also love KLM. Thanks for uploading! Love from Amsterdam, Holland
OKAY! This shows that pmdg did a REALLY GOOD JOB! I am aware that this is real, but, on the flight sim, a pmdg 747 could literally be used to copy this approach. WOW! GREAT FLYING GUY!
Great video! I always love watching your videos when they come out. Just an fyi, but I like the camera the other way when you can look out the front window and see the nose of the plane. Keep those videos coming!
amazing video !!! this is really something for all simmers that want to be inside real cockpit :o) real instruments with real scenery , keep posting ! i cannot wait new videos ;o))
mate I was scared of flying and I am stilla little nervy but these videos certainly make me feel more at ease now I have some understanding as to how it all works subscribed thanks alot
@Rafal102able Very good! You seem to know something about the 747. We begin with VNAV PTH and then when ATC spoils everything we switch to VNAV SPD.
TOD calculation is about good. When you want to be very accurate you have to compensate for weight also. The heavier you are the earlier you have to start the descent.
awesome! would love to see more from this vantage point. thanks for sharing.
the best vid I've ever seen!!!! thanks a lot!
''Ja wacht even, ik ben met de bocht bezig'' . Haha, top filmpje weer!
plz do more videos. i love them.Thumbs up if you want more 747 cockpit landings!
man all those different coloured lights on the runway were trippin me out as you were landing lol, Sweet stuff man
Great video! I love them all. Keep them coming.
Thanks, I love your videos. I'm in medical school but I also wanted to be a commercial pilot at some time in my life. Unfortunately I don't have 20/20 vision in one of my eyes.
@ToInfinity1 Good question. Probably because one of the waypoints in front of the runway has a lower altitude constraint than the glideslope altitude at that point.
Bangkok Looks Beautiful!
@Pegasus1507198915. The autopilot uses a fixed bank angle. Mostly 25 degrees. Only when we fly at high altitudes (above 30.000ft) the autopilot adjust this bank angle to lower values
thanks for sharing! Good quality of the vid! nice that your camera can manage the contrast between the dashboad light and the outside illumination!! both thumbs up ;)
Brilliant video! Well, I shall assume you are obviously an airline pilot since you are getting all of these videos from the cockpit. It is coool that they allow you to do such filming from that vantage point for all of us to see. You are the greatest! Are you a captain or a co-pilot? Keep filming and keep 'em flying!
Oh the sound of REAL REVERSE THRUST!!! MAGICAL!!
i love how the runway looks at night
Worth the wait. Awesome video!
@rambocivilairpatrol 500ft RA is just a standard point in the approach to check if you are cleared to land. Both pilots have to be sure they are cleared to land, that's why the other says 'checked'.
@DHMaNiAc770 At the top of the PFD (screen) you will see the status for throttle to the left, the horizontal selection at the center and vertical selection to the right. The horizontal mode is LOC. FLCH means the autopilot will mantain the vertical speed needed to keep that airspeed. APP was pressed at 1:39, you can see GS light up at white below FLCH. When the glide slope is intercepted it changes to green and you'll see the pilot change the selected alt to missed approach (3000).
@FF35Pilot At 2:32 you see SPD dissapear from the PFD and you hear him click two times, that means he disengages the autothrottle. The basic rule is when flying without the autopilot you also disengage the autothrottle. Cheers.
great video as always......keep up the good work both in the skies an videos
This is why I love UA-cam ! great Video no hype .Thanks for the post
totally brilliant capt, as always
Yes, I was also wondering why they "flew through" the localizer, then turned back. No big deal, just like other commenters, was curious why they did that. Loved the video.
Fantastic vids, can't wait for the next one!
Ik ben nu 15 en begin aan mijn PPL voor vliegtuig.
Uw video's zijn echt super !
Specially and so smooth landing👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
@Honza8778 3 to 4 times a month, depending on the length of the trip. It is possible to fly the next day back, however it depends on the length of the previous stretch how long we have to rest. No fixed routes, it is decided by the company. However we can request a certain number of flights a year.
@Gian092. The "ooh" was because the AutoPilot was banking rather roughly to intercept the localiser.
Awesome video as always! Flying is just so amazing.
@ojomow Normally when the speed is steady and you don't have to adjust thrust, you don't have to adjust the elevator trim.
@Rafal102able. No. In old fashioned aircraft you don't trim during the flare. I don't know if it is done in fly by wire aircraft.
This is a beautiful,beautiful angle....
I've watched all of your vid's and I love them! Thank you for sharing your magnificant work with us. Every take off and landing, that you post, makes me feel proud of the KLM, of you doing a serious job and make it look so easy and filming it in the most awesome way.
btw. Does the KLM screen your vid's before you put them online?
ps. Please keep up the good work en keep on filming your work/job.
Beautiful! I hope for your videos to have a part of it show the inside of the cockpit as such. THANK YOU!
