- Come for a ride into Lukla, Nepal!
We are taking cargo - food and drink, up to Lukla for the many trekkers making their hike to Base Camp or attempting to summit Mt. Everest.
This flight departed from Ramechapp, as that's closer than Kathmandu, and has road access. Those needing supplies will have it trucked into Ramechapp and we fly it to Lukla. It's a lot cheaper than having flown direct from Kathmandu.
It is a lot of fun flying amongst the Himalayas (on a good day!) and the views are amazing!
Note: This flight is pre covid
Huge thanks to Capt. Sudhan KC for help with this video!
Enjoy! - Розваги
This has to be one of the best landing videos on Lukla in this platform. Finally, a real pilot sharing his experience and calmly going through the process of flying to this airport. With so many bogus videos on Lukla around on UA-cam, it's refreshing to find one that's not. It's almost criminal that UA-cam does not promote this as often. Please make a follow on video dispelling the mythical status of flying there and bring some sanity to this discussion.
Thanks, I appreciate your kind words 🤠
"This is a cargo flight with beer and noodles, yeah, they don't clap" :))
Made my day haha
Mine too🤣
I guess im asking randomly but does anybody know a method to log back into an instagram account?
I somehow lost the login password. I would love any tricks you can offer me
@Leonidas Heath instablaster ;)
@Trace Brentley Thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now.
I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Trace Brentley it did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thank you so much, you really help me out !
Such a crazy approach. I am a pilot myself and i felt goosebumps by watching this. You literally fly towards a wall of mountains, you have to fly an increased approach speed because of the altitude and you know at a certain point, that the landing has to be made no matter what, no chance to initiate a safe go around a few miles from the treshhold, crazy. 100% respect.
Lukla isn't just a simple landing, it's a life changing decision
Came from 74 Gear's channel. Thank you sir! This is by far the most detailed explanation of landing in the Lukla, amazing job. Keep going and fly safe!
Thanks very much, appreciate the kind words!
A guy on Reddit posted this and this is one of the very best Lukla landing vids I've seen. No drama, no ego, just "here we are and here we go."
Your narration and visual markup is absolutely superb
Thanks, appreciate it 👍
He is not narrating, it seems to be outsourced 😂
I flew in to Lukla in 1983. Even more thrilling was the take off as the plane dropped a bit after it left the runway. I could see the remains of planes that had crashed in the valley below. I met Hillary in Kumjung where he was building a school and joked about the crashed planes I saw. I didn’t know that his wife and daughter perished there a few years earlier.
🥺🙂
I flew into Lukla in 1979 and there were the remains of three aircraft.
Small correction. Hillary's wife Louise and his youngest daughter Belinda were killed in a plane crash less than a mile after taking off from Kathmandu on the way to Phaplu. The NZ pilot was reckless and failed to do a pre-flight. Tragic.
Flew into Lukla 1999
"beer and noodles don't clap" that took me a minute...
What a fantastic, unique video! Huge thanks for taking us along, and yeah, that turnaround time is certainly short!
Thankyou Jimbo. Certainly impressive scenery. Love the cockpit views in full screen on TV
What a fantastic job you have! Kudos and thanks for you great flight videos.
That's a really great vid. Excellent narration and highlighting of the instruments etc. thanks!
This is AWESOME! Thank you for sharing this incredible experience. It's my dream to visit here one day. Thanks for sharing.
This was awesome! What an amazing flight experience! Thank you for taking us on this journey!
Absolutely great video, I'm privileged to have been to Nepal a number of times, have extended family there. It's a truly amazing country with equally amazing people. I really loved your detailed video, thank you.
What a gorgeous view. Thanks for all the detail.
This landing is awesome cool ! What a great pilot ! I watched the video now 3 times in 2 days. Thank you very much !
What an amazing flight with such great narration sir!
Spot on piloting skills! Thanks for the video.
I think this is the best aircraft video I have ever seen. The narrative was so interesting and informative, thank you very much for posting!!!
Amazing video! Thank you for sharing :) I hope more is coming.
Watched this a whole bunch of times! Great flying sir - top of your game.
Spectacular. Great job! The narration was educating, for sure.
Nice work Jimbo describing the flight & approach. That Eeen-Zeed Eeeekscent...!
Absolutely fantastic video!
Great video.... glad I stumbled across it!
Very cool, thank you. Been there and boy, what a trip. Lovely to see what a pilot goes through
Amazing stuff . Pure gold. Please upload more
One of the best Lukla-films I,ve seen!
Jimbo, thanks for sharing - great video!
I know how is dangerous to land and takeoff from Lukla but when I watch a landing from cockpit, still I am keeping my breath!...you are the choosen one as pilots...Hats off to all of you...have a safe takeoff and landing.
WOW ! This video is fantastic ! Thank you so much for sharing !
Thoroughly enthralling, thanks for that window into your world.
Enjoyed that thanks. My local DZ, Irish Parachute Club operates a PAC 750 the past few seasons. She was delivered from NZ after a refurb, skydive conversion etc. STOL/ climb capabilities make it a popular choice for DZs but I can that it's an ultra versatile aircraft.
thanks for taking us on this flight and explaining everything .Was great
Great narrative Jimbo !, great flying too............you certainly get around. Must be that number 1 pilot.............thank you Sir
I really enjoyed this a lot. Thanks for posting. Greetings from México.
🇲🇽👍
Fantastic vid! Just discovered your channel thanks to the YT algorithm which for once did something right. Thank YOU for NOT using music, no really thank you for not doing that! So many other aviation vids wrecked with music. Great narration, and of course your professionalism makes this whole thing look easy but we well know its not. Subbed!
Awesome. Thanks for all your hard work.
My husband is a charter pilot in Canada who has flown all over western Canada in to some remote places in the Rockies & I thought that was tricky! This is amazing & well narrated! Amazing view! I will pass on a trip to Lukla - I don’t enjoy flying all that much!
Haha😊 oh but you must (try).. you'd enjoy.
(ummm.. let sir not be in the crew and have him accompany you as a passenger. So that ALL of you/family can cherish it).
Else him flying you in the Rockies or here in South Asia... might lead to taunting or teasing.. should it not go 100% as expected.
.
.
Yes, I too am a lot nervous whenever a near dear one is on a flight or I myself have to...
The view through the cockpit windows is so very surreal like going back in space and time with it's breath taking views. Many people are seeing this for the first time as I am. This is stunning!
Interesting that the runway is so small it's hidden by the canopy post until the last moment. Fantastic video.
THANK YOU ! . . . A wonderful experience. Your narrative is much appreciated--indispensable..
Really nice video. Great job. Thanks.
Thought provoking and very informative talk through Mate. Thank you!
I've seen a handful of videos on landing at Lukla and yours stands out as the best one. You make it look easy, but I am sure it's challenging every time for you making that trip. Hats off to you and safe travels, sir!

❤❤❤ thanks for uploading this epic one video❤❤❤
Incredible video!
What a brilliant vid! Bit of a departure from the usual white-knuckled screaming Twin Otter yanking down the handbrake!
Great explanation - thanks.
Love the narration, from the technical to the philosophical. I gave it a go on MSFS, easy settings of course.
This is a very nice video about a very skilled pilot...
That was a nice full stall landing you could hear the stall warning horn going off at the perfect time very good !
Wooouuu... super video! 👍👍 Love and 🧘! Da, apreciez postarea! Sunt multe de învățat! Mă regăsesc! Un gând bun! A good thought! 🧘
Awesome explaining and encircling stuff on screen; very nice!
Very fascinating-Thanks for sharing
Brilliantly detailed video showing how quickly that airstrip seems to come into view from the cockpit. Beautifully shot and narrated too. Thanks to your comments in the 74gear section I found this video. Nice job.
Thanks mate, appreciate the kind words
Loved your video!!
Thanks buddy, really enjoyed never seen this airport what an incredible approach.
Stay safe my friend.

well done and thanks for posting this
That was awesome. Really cool vid. You guys are super BA. Cheers.
came here from your comment on 74gear great videos jim! "beer and noodles dont clap" :D
Tremedous flying. God always keep those flyers safe
I've Subsribed. Nice detail of the approach and landing. I look forward to more of your videos. Cheers from British Columbia, Canada.
Great video !
I flew into and out of Lula in the early '80s in a Twin Otter. The strip was gravel then, and the door between the passenger section and the flight deck was open. it was almost as exciting as landing in Ketchikan Alaska in a Truman Goose before the airport was built; we landed on the water, sploosh!
Also came from Kelsey’s channel! Thank you so much for uploading these videos, so well explained and very enjoyable! Always happy landings ✈️🙌🏻
Wow!!! Excellent Video👍👍👍👍
Great landing sir, thank you for sharing
Excellent visuals and narratives.
Your narration is incredibly informative! Quality content
respect!! awesome approach!
Very cool. Thanks for sharing. Beer and noodles are probably luxuries up there.
Great explanation. I was always curious to see how exactly the procedures are for Lukla and it turns out it's very similar to the flying I do here in Papua as well. Although the strips I fly to don't tend to be as busy as what you've got in Lukla. As you rightly said this is some of the most rewarding flying you will ever do.
Keep up the good work. And safe travels.
Very interesting video ! Congrat !
-- Nice work, mate!
I love the measured presentation style of your videos.
Nice content captain ❤….keep up the sharing
Wonderful to see this landing in RL; one of my all time favourite airports in MSFS 2020!
MSFS is too easy real life harder!
Sorrowful sheep 😅👍🏼👌🏽
I flew in once and out twice. Thanks for the memory.
Amazing some of the places to fly into and out of.
flippin awesome mate, epic landing woeyy
Greetings from México City, from a fellow pilot. Great video
