Just wait till people realize the end-game gear has layers upon layers of P2w... F2p has a 5 percent drop rate for one gem with rare crests. You need to level up each gem to level 10. To show how hard that is, it requires 51 level 1-star gems just to reach level 5 on a 1-star gem. After it reaches level 10, then u can put more LEVEL 10 gems into that level 10 gem. I think a one-star gem can fit two other LEVEL 10 1-star gems into it. For max gear, each gear piece needs a 5-star gem 5/5 at level 10 (which requires 30+ 5 star gems to level up it up level 10 plus other gems) and u have to pray that you got a star gem 5/5, not a 2/5 and you still need multiple levels 10 gems inside of them.

not only is this Pay-To-Win, it is pay-to-win from inception to the launch of the game. They designed the pay-to-win mechanic into the basic game and every aspect of it going forward will be the same.

All of this coverage on Diablo Immoral makes me so glad I departed from Blizzard products years ago. Growing up with games like Warcraft 3 and Starcraft, it’s sad to see how badly the company’s integrity has gone down the drain. Me and a family member were playing together and we used our first free legendary crest that you get at the start of the game... but we never got any chests because we were just a couple of seconds too late (they'd never played this type of game before so didn't realise the urgency). I freaked out thinking we'd just wasted one each... so we cracked on with the rest of the story. Later, about 1 or 2 missions later I noticed there was actually a message saying "You didn't earn anything from your previous rift, any rifts you don't complete will have your crests rewarded back to you in a message like this one". So don't worry.
I think the worst part for me is that the game actually looks pretty good from a gameplay perspective. Especially considering it was made as a mobile game with no original intent for a PC release. It looks solid and honestly, I would have liked to play the game. But it seems like a fun game that is being packed with every microtransaction imaginable. My only issue is that I don't know what this game has over Diablo 3. For all intents and purposes, it seems like a mobile-oriented re-imagining of Diablo 3. A majority of the abilities are pulled from D3 from what I can tell. So assuming you're on PC, what does this game have to offer you besides being new and free? Assuming you're a Diablo fan, you probably already own Diablo 3 and reaper of souls.
Jesus, in all of my years playing mobile games, I've never run into a game this pay to win. Normally the cash shop is just cosmetics, boosts, exclusive mounts, in game unique currency and a battle pass. But this game, you can even pay to increase the RNG loot in your favor, not guaranteed mind you. Meaning this is a game where every run you can pay more and more and more to get anything decent.
The haters will ignore that you didn't have to pay to get all those one star gems. You clearly earned them by defeating that rift boss with your skill as a gamer.
the time you spent grinding as a skilled f2p player is better spent elsewhere in your life, not in a pay2win predatory microtransaction game that hurt the gaming industry. Games is already degrading ever since this kind of concept appears.

@turntwigg I do, but if it’s a game that I am having fun with, those “deals” look all the more appealing.

I like and play the game as well and I don't expect to be the best player in the world by remaining f2p. If you're just looking for a good time as a dad with limited time, you can have plenty of fun in Diablo without spending anything! Just have fun, life is already stressful enough lmao.
Stop letting people think for you. This game would be nowhere this developed, nor free, nor receive constant updates if it weren’t for this business model. It’s a great game, and despite the ignorance surrounding it, there are millions actively playing it. It’s quite literally one of the most positively reviewed games in the MMORPG genre.
@@MikeHunchak I seen the reviewes and it ain’t positive more like a bunch of zeroes lol
Sorry but their business model sucks and I find it hard to believe that charging ppl the way they are is the only reason it is what it is. Tbh I don't seeing this game lasting long if they stay their course. Plus future diablo games, shit blizzard games are going to suffer if they do. Again I still really like it and having fun though.
As a Diablo 2 player, 5% drop rates are incredibly generous 😂
Yeah, but imagine you could only do a baal run once a day and had to pay if you wanted to do more......
I remember playing for years and never getting the IK chest back in the day.
At least in Diablo 2 you don't have to pay for every dungeon you walked into for a CHANCE to get better gear.
@@joewelch4933 is this a thing in Diablo immortal? I'm a level 47 necro and haven't had to pay for anything once. Been running challenge rifts & the other rifts regularly without spending a dime
@@Mikalent what dungeons do you need to pay for to enter?
I am absolutely certain that in a couple of months from now a Chinese/Korean developer is going to make a clone of this game and fix its one glaring problem - the absence of any hot/cute female characters.
5:26 Ah yes the old I can't see what's happening feature. Loved it in dayz
If you throw your wallet REALLY friggin hard against your monitor YOU WIN! the opportunity to buy a new monitor...
This is genius Zack, good way to prove a point 🤟👍
Exactly. People tend to lose track of how much money they spend on microtransactions, but the money counter puts things in perspective.
Was actually really looking forward to play this game but because of this heavy monetisation i haven't even launched it yet and thinking to just uninstall -_-
This is just disgusting :(
Thanks asmon for showing us this ❤️❤️
I'm unclear what he showed us... he hasn't used ANY of the power he spent his money on. He equipped a bunch of f2p gems and is "so strong and overpowered" because he is in early game. Take out all his gems and he would be stomping about as hard. You can't base an opinion of a game based off 1 video full of sarcasm and stupid spending. He has been throwing away or not using what he spends his money on ever since he started the game. The game is great and you can aquire all the stuff making asmon "so strong", absolutely free.
Get it twisted boys! (btw dont spend your money on this game, Asmongold is literally showing you how nefarious this game is and everything that is wrong with the gaming industry, he isnt promoting it. He is exposing it.)
There really is no need to spend a cent until the endgame min/maxing. Game is only worth playing through for the story campaign anyway.
I haven't paid shit and im lvl 60 rn with 1700 damage. It's not that dman hard
@@teamspeak9374 You kids got short attention spam. He literally made a video about f2p vs p2w loot. It's literally in the first minutes of the video. Please tell me how much money you are willing to pay after watching his videos ? Answer is zerooooo.
@@knicknevin9975 I don't think people should believe in the whole "no such thing as bad publicity" thing after what just happened to Amber Heard... she was given insane publicity and as a result, she is basically unemployable for minimum 5 years.
I think 'promoting negative attention' as you put it (which to me is same as exposing) is a great move by Asmongold - he gets to keep making content and provide entertainment to people, while also firing a huge warning shot about just how bad the monetization is in this game. I know I was on the fence about playing both Diablo Immortal and Lost Ark since they seemed interesting, and I ended up not playing them at all because I've seen what it's like through Asmongold.
@@knicknevin9975 i definitely see your opinion and i think it is very valid. But on the other hand, Asmongold and the gaming community have resisted these P2W mechanics for years and it has only gotten worse. I believe he is trying to give the public, not just gamers, a way to see how this game actually works and tries to prevent people from spending their money by doing it himself because he doesnt risk anything. Atleast that is how i see it.
The sarcasm is palpable. I cant even remember what i was originally going to type.
i love how he just embraces the whaling and goes all out. if there's anyone who can afford to do this for shits and giggles it would be Asmon i guess.
Gotta have a serious spending problem if your seriously dropping money on games like this.
So Zack's entire life savings is 622 dollars. Damn son, it's really not worth being a streamer.
Lmao
Takes 110k $ to max everything out. If you not spending that much, you're losing the game.
No,that amount is to max 1 gem for 1 slot of 1 piece of equipement, which when maxed can contain other pax ranked gems
Love this video. Such smart humor Zack
This is the funniest fucking stream lol
