I think having a problem with people talking too much in fights is just down to the fact that JoJo is a manga first. Araki is a master of working in his own medium and understands that the pace and speed of the story is 100% in the control of the reader. So, letting it get heavy on the text to explain his visuals panel to panel works much better. Either way, your other issues are perfectly justified except being mad that Okuyasu didn't show up more or use his powers didnt get used more when it's explicitly said multiple times that he's not the sharpest knife in the crayon box.
The talking in fights part was my issue with One Piece anime as well. That annoyances went completely away when I switched to manga. I think the issue is just anime trying to adapt the manga 1:1.

Heh. That's what happens to a lot of people for a lot of media : You just lost the willing suspension of disbelief. And when that happens, it's hard to get it back. I have a friend that hates Pacific Rim, because the chinese made a robot out of iron, and I quote him "Fucking iron. Not steel, IRON. FUCKING IRON RUST IN SALT WATER THIS MOVIE SUCKS". He was ok with giant robots fighting giant monsters, but a robot made of iron was were he lost it. And that's it. It got him out of the movie, and he started nitpicking everything about it. So I guess "Ice doesn't float you fucking morons" is as much as a valid excuse.
The thing is part 2 is much more ridiculous, same with part 1, but part 2 is well loved, because it embraces the bullshit and uses it well, the bs has payoffs and when there's a serious moment, they let it cook (Ceasar death for example). I enjoyed all parts of JoJo except 1 (it is so bad, took me almost month to get trough to finish longer part 2 in 2-3 days), but how it fails in parts 4 and later in some fights & moments is that it often tries to be serious, themes, sad music, characters dying and shit, and then they put on clown shoes which both doesn't fit, and it doesn't work, there's no payoff. I really liked the general idea of Part 6 ending, but how Pucci was defeated disappointed me & broke my suspension of disbelief harder than Joseph firing canon ball from his crossbow that perfectly circled colosseum to strike his opponent pin point accuracy in his back. It shit on the desperate situation of kid having to somehow turn the tables on much stronger opponent with op stand, while providing nothing of value, just deus ex machina because the autor wanted for things to happen this way, but couldn't figure good way to do it.
regarding part 4, the "hand stand" user is known for having this very powerful stand, but he is a big dum dum and its safe to assume he just... never figures out this ability should be used more often. Ye, thats like... most likely the only reason we dont see him more often - he is just not very smart to use his cool powers better. The others have no excuse really lol

Something really important for the types of abilities that are used in later Jojo parts is scale. If you blow the scale of something up too much (see Pucchi and your example in the video) it makes trying to balance "science" into supernatural abilities really hard to make satisfying. Make it too big and it doesn't interact with the world around it meaningfully so you need to pull out something equally absurd or convoluted to stop it (once again the Pucchi example). Also most writers aren't also PHD holding physicists so trying to make the science stay believable once you pull the switch is sometimes not within a writer's capabilities.
i do really like the idea of just beating the ever living crap out of giorno and suddenly when you punch out his tooth pee erupts from it that is for sure something to think about

So Emporio is literally a kid that grew up in his own bubble of a stand, alone, and the only thing he had to do in there was read books and use a ridiculously old computer, is the oxygen explanation that weird ? kid barely had any contact with people his whole life, the years he had were spent reading inside that room while he is scared shitless of being found and killed, in all honesty if he said anything ELSE that moment, it would have been weird, it fits his character perfectly, he lived his life until now as a little rat hiding in fear with his books, so when he gets to finally have a chance to fight back, well he wont be giving pucci some big words or vague quote about good always wins or something, yes it's kinda dumb out of context, but I truly feel like it's exactly what someone in his position would have said, and I will take a character driven quote (even if kinda dumb) every time over ''Love always defeates hate !!'' or idk, insert default bad is bad quote here. The hand stand is a bit of a character joke, his brother even resents him a bit, because the hand as a stand is so powerful and yet the user just isn't very bright, we got enough 300 IQ characters, let that guy be a dummy, it's a breath of fresh air if anything. The ice thing I was confused about, like he creates ice from air, thats... well... the whole thing, we got gay egocentric vampires from alternate universes, if anything ice from air is actually super tame for jojo stands, I just feel like if that logic bothers you so much, then how did you get past even season 1 ? doesn't make sense to me. the piss thing is like... the material of what he turns into an animal has never matered... never... why should it matter now ? also we know that if he never undo his power, it will simply stay as it is, it's literal magic, that's the point. Regardless, happy that you gave it a try, and to this day part 2 was the funniest for me personally, so I'm happy that you enjoyed that, also the bungou stray dogs clip just surprised me so much, I love that show to death and yet it feels like nobody ever even mentions it, I guess my last words are just that, you should probably still try watching Part 7 steel ball run if it becomes an anime in the future, it's literally a reset on the world, and I know people who hate EVERY part of jojo... and somehow love part 7 ? Im not a fan of pt3, feels way too long and outside of a few fights, was boring IMO. Fave is pt4, loved josuke and his not too OP stand and ofc Kira/Killer Queen arcs were good. I havent finished pt6, but consider jotaro was killed even tho he could stop tome, is BS IMO
About the part 6 science explanation, it’s not hard to realize that everything that led up to Emporio making a gas chamber was either because of Pucci’s past actions, or because of Jolyne. Emporio was born in the prison. It’s obvious that the trivia he has was gained from one of the books inside the room. Jolyne sacrificed herself for Emporio’s sake and Jotaro sacrificed himself for Jolyne’s sake. Ermes used her stand to take Jotaro to Jolyne and Anasui used his stand to protect Jotaro from getting his neck slashed. It was 100% teamwork.
meanwhile the ice guy is literally one of my favourite fight in the series cause how cool it is and the frikin willpower of both side for survival is just godlike. And then Giorno straight up become Jesus. I appreciate this kind of scene and action more cause it is just so unique, rather than trying to use real world logic to make power, he try to integrate stand power to real life cause come on, he probably just thought up about the ricochet bullet ability from standard ice power and try to find where to fit the scene into his works.

When you say explain, you mean headcanon? As far as the source goes, he overcame the obstacle and did not taste the piss. Simple as that. If asking what happens to piss then it can be whatever headcanon makes it to be, but we do need to consider that some abilities or effects actually able to remove things from reality like stands 'Cream', 'the Hand' or 'Killer Queen'. The entire system is based on the fact that stands are never 100% understood. It's not system like chakra in Naruto where it was tested to the point of 99% understanding, but instead every stand is more or less unique. There is also the thing of anime while being really good translation of the manga to screen, it's not perfect and one of the most distorted things are time which leaves are with long monologues in middle of a fight
As a fan of you work and as a fan of jojo. I honestly undertsand those takes. And honestly i think, you not liking jojo started on the fact that you cant pretend to be dumb? Something about lobotomy joke. To me. Jojo is an anime you watch for the gags and some sprinkle of epic battles. Its like the best turn off your brain anime and see cool things happen. Big problem with every big name Shonen is the fact that there HAS to be fights(tho there are exceptions). I’ve read the first 4 parts, never watched the anime but I don’t think I’d bothered to do so since part 3 is such a drag.

I just finished part one with my girlfriend because she loves it, but I hate it. She loves it to a T where she showed me videos she made about JoJo in 2017 and I’m just like, “Cool”. The powers come out of nowhere. the anime doesn’t explain a lot so far. And I just think everything is surface level and lame. Mind you, I watch a lot of anime and read a lot of manga. she, only watches anime on occasion. Bro, save me, this show is so boring to me. it makes me frustrated at points with plot holes and “pull out their ass” plot armor 🙃
I really couldn't stomach Araki's constant bombardment of incorrect pseudoscience during part 6. It killed all my enjoyment of the series. If Steel Ball run doesn't fix that issue I don't think I will continue watching the series.

meanwhile the ice guy is literally one of my favourite fight in the series cause how cool it is and the frikin willpower of both side for survival is just godlike. And then Giorno straight up become Jesus. When you say explain, you mean headcanon? As far as the source goes, he overcame the obstacle and did not taste the piss. Simple as that. If asking what happens to piss then it can be whatever headcanon makes it to be, but we do need to consider that some abilities or effects actually able to remove things from reality like stands 'Cream', 'the Hand' or 'Killer Queen'. The entire system is based on the fact that stands are never 100% understood. It's not system like chakra in Naruto where it was tested to the point of 99% understanding, but instead every stand is more or less unique.
There is also the thing of anime while being really good translation of the manga to screen, it's not perfect and one of the most distorted things are time which leaves are with long monologues in middle of a fight

As a fan of you work and as a fan of jojo. I honestly undertsand those takes. And honestly i think, you not liking jojo started on the fact that you cant pretend to be dumb? Something about lobotomy joke. To me. Jojo is an anime you watch for the gags and some sprinkle of epic battles. Its like the best turn off your brain anime and see cool things happen. From time to time they may explain shit but if you are knowledgeable about those topics. So you would instantly recognise that they are making up bull shit again. And then turn off your brain again and just continue watching. Thats it. Just like one piece. :)
Jojo is peak anime but I hated the main character in part 5 he had no personality and was just an Mary Sue then only to become the strongest character

Big problem with every big name Shonen is the fact that there HAS to be fights(tho there are exceptions). I’ve read the first 4 parts, never watched the anime but I don’t think I’d bothered to do so since part 3 is such a drag.
Am kinda pretty interested in hearing your thoughts about aot cause despite having one of the best storys it has some problems but people let them pass cause it make you feel smart by the plot twists

I just finished part one with my girlfriend because she loves it, but I hate it. She loves it to a T where she showed me videos she made about JoJo in 2017 and I’m just like, “Cool”. The powers come out of nowhere. the anime doesn’t explain a lot so far. And I just think everything is surface level and lame. Mind you, I watch a lot of anime and read a lot of manga. she, only watches anime on occasion. Bro, save me, this show is so boring to me. it makes me frustrated at points with plot holes and “pull out their ass” plot armor 🙃
