I have made a video about air dribbling in the past, however, it's one of the first videos on my channel and I wanted to make an updated version since the video isn't that well made and I have some different tips to give this time. Overall, I think I did a better job explaining how to air dribble in this video since I have a better understanding of what new Rocket League players look for in tutorials. One important thing he didn't mention- after the jump off the wall, your first touch should ideally be without holding boost. This is so you don't skyrocket the ball forward and can gain control of it without having to use too much boost and going faster. Hope this helps!

@@geekodafatboy6990 yea but its just a game, you'll eventually learn all these things so if you really want to you can start learning how to air dribble now. You don't have to master it in a day or even a week, it could be something you work on just for fun sometimes.
@@krismartinez2685 Yeah, I started to learn musty flicks when I was silver-gold a few months ago... Now I'm diamond, I still can't do musty flicks but I learned a lot trying to, I've got way more car control and dribble skills than before so I guess it works

Came back to this video after watching the Dribble vs Glue one, and after about an hour of trying over and over again, I managed to score my first air dribble goal in training. Then my second. And my third. And my fourth. Never saw that coming.

Yeah that's me. Had air dribbles down really good, so I started on ceiling shots. Forgot how to air dribble at some point so I went back to it. Now I can do neither entirely correctly.
But now I am basically a diamond 1 well 1 game off diamond 1 and I can hit flip resets ceiling musty flicks airdribbles ceiling ground pinch musty flick off wall double touch and breezi flick off wall
But I made a big mistake
I learnt all of these before I know how to dribble properly
I mean I can literally do almost every flick but I am not good at dribbling the ball properly
So I am practicing this now and maybe I can hit diamond 2 or diamond 3
Hey Wayton, I'm a c3/gc1 and never learned how to air dribble explicitly. I just listened to this video and everything made sense. The key I was missing, was the little brake on the setup as well as when to jump for the carry. My initial setup didn't brake and always made me shoot the ball too fast and thus never made me jump on time. I usually don't comment but this was so good that I'm commenting, liking and subscribing. Keep it up !
Yeah same man I’ve improved a lot on aerials now I want to move onto air dribble. It’ is new for me and so is rocket League I’ve played for only 6 months I think maybe a little more but I would like to get to diamond once I peak at platinum maybe I’ll have a chance :)
Just to clarify are you Breaking on the set up on the wall as well because he mentioned not to break on that part for the carry which I’m confused with do I or not
@@lukewalker3 i just tried it and when i try not to do the brake on the wall i just keep messing the ball or go above it but after using the brake i can position my car and wait for the perfect moment to jump so the best thing to do is keep doing it until you are used to it and thats when you no longer need that brake

I break on the ground and not on the wall. You can break on the wall but I find it much more difficult. I believe in the video he says to brake on the wall in order to take your time when jumping and rotating of the wall to get used to the movement. I hope this helped :)
I’m low diamond and didn’t know how to air dribble and everyone around me could but this video made it really clear and understandable and now I can air dribble/carry it nearly every time if I could rate a video I would give this video 5/5 stars it’s really good and I love the fact that I seen a gc in the comments saying the same thing it really shows how u can make a video directed towards anyone (liked and subscribed) 😁😁👍👍👍👍

As a bronze this helped me a lot and now i can air dribble 😊
As a platinium i can barely air dribble ... but in everything else im better than platinium you can say im diamond but air dribbling is what makes me worst.
@@someone_xdd No, it isn't. I reached Diamond the other day and I still haven't even learned how to air dribble. I can do a basic ground or bounce dribble at best. I ranked up through Platinum primarily with positioning, decsion making, and consistency/power with shooting and basic aerials. You don't need an air dribble to beat a Platinum defense.

It’s a great start but when teaching a new skill, I’d recommend addressing common mistakes. Everyone knows what an air dribble looks like but the frustration I felt when I was brand new came from not understanding my mistakes and now to correct them.
TL;DR I’d add in a section of common errors and how to recognize/correct them.

This actually helped me I’m learning pretty fast with this one.
this is literally the best guide ever my air dribble were just 1 touch weak shots and now I learnt to properly carry it in the space of all of about 30 mins if yours aren't working just keep watching the parts of this video where you struggle and keep trying that's all I did I tried to copy exactly what he did and then once I was able to do that easily I tried it different ways

I have 1000 hours in rocket league and finally decided to learn how to air dribble - your video is the first one that made it sound and look so simple, and after half an hour of practice like you described, I hit my first air dribble in training. Spent a few more hours practicing it, and even managed to score one in a 1v1 game. Thanks for the easy-to-follow tutorial!

Half flips are easy.
All you have to do is backflip while air rolling to make ur car go the other way.
Half flip is all about key binding air roll left/right to a bumper. After that you can do it with like 10 min tops of practice. Backflip, then air roll while holding up on stick. Ez

Omg thanks wayton, I came here because i was having a hard time with the carry and now Ik why. I was doing that second brake tap each time and I didnt know I wasnt supposed to. After removing it everything became so much easier
Easily one of the best tutorial videos for air dribbles - it taught me one thing which actually helped loads...the "air roll, jump, boost" at the same time! I'm still pretty bad at them (like directing the car to follow the ball so I can carry it), but have definitely improved by following the steps in the video. Great content man!

ADVICE FROM A GOLD: Just started getting semi consistent with getting close to the net. Big tip- take breaks. You will not get this if one training session even if you put 4 plus hours on the first season like I did. Probably been a little over 2 weeks for me now, total of about 16-20 hours total. I think sleeping on it really helped me as weird as that sounds. Cool side affect is my airels in game are more consistent than ever. Also, camera view and straight view airels are equal to me now for the most part. When you’re as bad as I am, you can only go up hahaha. Thanks way, you’re the man.

Big tip: in a gold you dont need those shots, just get basic mechanics like farpost, powershots, power clears, because what the sence of air dribble if you cant save a rolling into you ball?
@@fedirsereda2260 the things tends to be at gold players get stuck there alot and learn all of the basics, but with just the basics they are just gonna stay stuck so they try to learn something to give them the edge to get to platinum
@@jonnycoombs4112 I mean consistensy, most gold so inconsistent in basics, that what make them stuck, i get easily to the diamond from gold just on rotations and basic consistensy

I had always been confused on how to air roll before watching this! I was struggling with doing a proper transition from wall to air as I would sort of jump off and then pull my car up and turn around. It wasn't until you showed the steps I found what air rolling was, I always thought it was a mechanic you do with your joystick but no its an actual key bind. I never had it binded and it's already helped me a lot thanks!
How is that when he jumps from the wall the ball stay like a magnet to his car, but mine goes the f away from me even before jumping 😂
Used to happen to me. Don’t boost when hitting the ball off the wall and try jumping off the wall right after you make contact with the ball. Good luck!!

After you practice for half an hour it will become a magnet. I personally use the 2nd one in the pack. (The code is in the description of the video)
What I do is when your nose touches the ball tap jump and boost at the same time. Then keep feathering the boost. You can also jump when the nose touches the ball then start pressing the boost. I tap jump i don't long press it. Also aim the car at the bottom of the ball while in the air, it keeps the ball up although sometimes i end up above the goal because i dribble the ball too high.

ive been doing this for about an hour and i got very good at the setup and im still working on the dribble. Ive gotten a 5 touch goal without the ball touching the floor so im happy and i feel like im making progress! thanks for the great video.

Hey Wayton, I watched this video 2 weeks ago and I can now usually consistently air dribble. For awhile I was struggling with the dribbling but eventually figured out that I need to start boosting into the ball right away and matching it's speed, instead I was letting the ball fly away for too long before trying to hit it. Thanks for this course, thanks for helping me learn how to air dribble. Already learned how to double tap and now I'm gonna try and learn some other variations, peace dude 🤘
