You might try Death and their song "Spirit Crusher" or "Scavenger of Human Sorrow." Sadly, they disbanded in 2001 when founder Chuck Schuldiner died due to brain cancer.
You absolutely need to listen to Leprous. Their drummer is ridiculously talented and addictive to watch. He uploads playthrough to his own UA-cam channel: Baard Kolstad *** START WITH THIS PLEASE*** ***Leprous - The Sky is Red*** Leprous - Illuminate Leprous - Rewind Leprous - Moon
one of their popular songs you should react to is, And Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope live in Colorado 2016. hearing and seeing them live really puts their talents on full display because the live version has such a good sound mix. ( NAY-OBLIVIOUS-CAR-ISSS ) if you watch the live you'll hear them pronounce it the correct way lol
They released 2 singles recently “Equus” and “Graal” from an album due next month. Both are awesome. If you prefer live, the song “and Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope” is probably the best quality on utube.
Welcome to the family..... Australian band. Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope live in Colorado 🤘. Two new song off the forthcoming album have also just been released.
I'm a drummer, but the bass in this band has always been the highlight for me. Before NeO, I thought the Bass was just there for some extra rhythm and to occupy the lower frequencies as a sort of box-ticking exercise. With NeO, the Bass is so high in the mix, the basslines are so intricate and beautiful, and it's just given so much time to shine. The drums are insane of course, but not quite as unique imo. The drummer just has a set of pistons keeping those kicks going throughout most of their discography. They don't have a bad song so it's hard to recommend a next one for you to listen to. Their most popular is probably 'And Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope', but my personal favourite is either 'Painters of the Tempest pt.II: Triptych Lux' or 'Forget Not'. You won't be disappointed no matter what you choose.
Dude the bass in this song was phenomenal! I absolutely loved it. Definitely the highlight for me. I will for sure check out more because this was just WOW
Legendary band for sure the "Painters of the Tempest" 3 parter is a 10/10 for me but it's very long at over 20 mins. The runner up to that would have to be "Eyrie". Both are quite a step above this song - even though it's very good, just think those are even better
Some recommendations based off of liking NeO: Black Crown Initiate - Belie the Machine. More death metal prog with a mix of cleans / harsh Vintersea - Crack of Light. Proggy black metal, with harsh / clean mix again, though mostly harsh. Rivers of Nihil - Where Owls Know My Name. 90% harsh, more similar to Black Crown Initiate - which is fitting since they’re from the same town (Reading PA).
First time hearing this band, nice mix of vibe and styles and the drummer killed it and then some. Not sure what the video was trying to convey, seemed a little disjointed. great reaction and keep rocking.
Thanks for watching guys! Y'all are amazing. What should I listen to next? This was so, so good.
I suggest Diablo Swing Orchestra. Try Heroins. Some avant-garde metal for ya 😉

They are very proggy and technical :) You should react to "Forget Not", it will blow your mind.
Sweet I’ll definitely do that one next by them :)
