  • The Irritrol® 2600 Series angle valves are popular with users because of the convenience of their threaded bonnets, the reliability of their double-beaded diaphragm, and the durability of their heavy-duty, corrosion and UV-resistant PVC construction. Fast and easy to install and service, these 1-inch residential plastic valves offer an encapsulated solenoid, internal/external bleed, an optional flow control feature, and are available in multiple configurations.

I was wondering how you use the "on off" switch? I can't get mine to move any direction. Push down or pull up and twist? Thanks for a quick clean review.

Hi Garland. The on/off handle under the solenoid should definitely move - lefty loosey righty tighty. The normal position is off/closed to allow the controller to open it electronically.
Have you tried loosening the bleed screw (the small black screw) to open the valve manually?

@@Andy_Humphrey Thanks. I guess I'll apply a bit more pressure moving left and right. Will also check the bleed screw. I wasn't sure what that was for. So appreciate the help. Michael

I'm wondering how the install on this works? They advertise that it's threaded on both sides for easy install, but I don't see how that could possibly work. Seems like you'd have to use PVC cement at some point?

Hi @ericcarlsencolorado - you are correct. The valve is threaded (female pipe thread on both ends), so you will also need a male adapter fitting on either side. This fitting could be for PVC or Poly pipe. Male Adapter fittings are like couplers, with Male Thread on one side, and either Slip (glue) or Insert on the other end. Does that make sense?

Wow, thanks so much for the quick reply! And if I have an old valve that's beyond repair that I need to replace I guess I'd cut the PVC and try to rebuild the cut off piece?

Sorry that I missed this! Correct, cut it out and rebuild from your PVC. Before you do that, I recommend you purchase the exact replacement valve, and replace the entire top (all pieces) leaving the body of the valve in the ground...50-75% chance this will fix it. If not, cut it out.
