- After taking home the Academy award for best editing, 2018's Bohemian Rhapsody was mocked for this one 2 minute scene that contained way too many cuts, ADR and weird choices left and right. So I fixed it, and by fixed I mean I took all the unnecessary reaction shots and used them to create this.
This is definitely more accurate to what I would do if someone random sat at my table.

This joke edit as ridiculous as it is is technically better than what's in the movie. You conveyed a scene with structure and action/reaction without the use of dialogue from a shambolic scene in the movie.

Even in this form, the actor playing Brian May manages to convey May's outrageous degree of smugness. Brilliant work.

I was half expecting a cityscape view then earth then the solar system then the galaxy at the end.
Rapid cutting has become a common trope in both film and telly, and I loathe it.
and he looks at me... and i look at him... and he looks at me... and i look at him...
So I get that it's a joke but, until you start using reaction cut after reaction cut for a loooong time for the comic effect, this actually would have worked better, because it builds tension to what the conversation is going to be.
It takes what in the actual film is a fairly boring conversation that just does the basics - and turns it into this tense build up for what this negotiation can be like, as they all exchange looks, almost like its a mexican stand off.... and THEN I realised that you were poking fun. But I think it goes to show that this could probably have been saved in the edit, if you had the rest of the rawfootage.
I think the purpose of the meme is that they reused the same sound effect like 12 times
