You can quit smoking just like in real life but you may gain it back quickly if you smoke it again just like in real life.
Hey Retanaru! Maybe a good short video idea in this format is what damages a Vehicles trunk and how to stop it from getting damaged? Does having a trunk lid protect a trunk, does it have to be shut for that to work, what part of the car has to be hit for it to take damage or if you drive over something like sapplings does it take damage etc. I know that I at least always have to keep a reserve of metal sheets to repair it up, but any advice on keeping it well conditioned in the first place would be great!
I've been looking for a mod to make cars take less damage, but for the life of me I can't find one. There USED to be one that slowed the wear and tear on cars, but apparently that one doesn't work any more.
Anxiety happens for a few reasons: - You're hemophobic and currently have blood on you - You're a smoker and haven't had a smoke recently - Your character just had a nightmare (that anxiety will go away on its own), nightmares being mostly caused iirc by wearing dirty clothes or having killed a lot of zombies recently - Your character is sick and the anxiety represents their fear of dying from the disease
Well that makes a certain amount of sense; if you're panicking over something you certainly have your attention on something and aren't mindlessly sitting there bored.
Watch the Dog Goblin movie in game. The panic caused by watching the video all of the way through reduces my character's tiredness, boredom, and depression. I'm not sure if any of it is intentional, but it has been helpful when I'm super tired, depressed, and need to finish whatever I'm doing on my MP server.
This is why being a Veteran is a trade-off; without Panic, you can't relieve boredom as easily as a Veteran, and essentially have to go outside and murder things, or just be outdoors for long periods of time. A regular character with Claustrophobia, as you mentioned, can lock themselves in a closet to relieve the boredom, which feels...not realistic tbh, but it's definitely worthwhile to consider. Not that it matters late game, you can collect enough books and reading material to drive boredom off, and eventually enough ammo and guns to shoot all your problems away
Would really love to see videos about traits for multiplayer. I personally am very certain that most go to traits are useless there, especially in the beginning, where there is literally no food, magazines, weapons and other crap that is taken for granted in singleplayer. Even a lighter is hard to come across.
With no loot respawns multiplayer is different, but you can get cigs and lighters from killing mass zombies, and food/weapons are easily acquired through other skills. Fishing/foraging/trapping/farming will supply you with food even on the lowest abundance settings. Meanwhile a propane torch and welder mask (which you can get from respawning zombies) will give you near infinite pipes for short blunt by destroying the fences that don't use up any gas. As the months roll by on the server zombies begin to spawn with weapons in them much more often and you will find yourself buried under hunting knives. With axes and crowbars being a little more rare. In fact I feel like axes aren't viable until zombies start spawning with them often so you can drive around and pick them off. Multiplayer seems really hard at first, but you have all the tools necessary to survive if you are willing.
tbh adrenaline junkies do crazy shit to cure their boredom all the time, so seeing your character put themselves through panic situations when bored does make a bit of sense.
I think doing action in-doors increase boredom, particulary item transfer. While doing actions outside will also decrease it. So if you have to transfer/unpack/use items and you don't need to be inside, do everything outside if possible.
Boredom from being indoors can be prevented altogether if you build a custom base. Prefabricated buildings and houses inherently increases your boredom because of a hidden unique indoors property that comes with all prefabricated buildings. An custom indoor house does not have this property so anyone can enjoy all the benefits of being indoors (plumbing, temperature, lighting) while none of the boredom-increasing cabin fever that comes with it.

Something that isn't obvious in the vanilla game is that drinking ANY amount of alcohol will completely remove all unhappiness after a few hours. Even a 1/4 sip of a beer bottle works.

Fun fact: if you worship the Dog Goblin, a single viewing of the VHS tape can put even a desensitized veteran into a full-blown state of panic. The Dog Goblin protects.

I love how after killing dozens of zombies, my character is still somehow bored. Nothing is good enough for him apparently.
The first boredom noodle says "occupy yourself, or seek entertainment." Any timed action should gradually decrease boredom, at the very least stall it. It is very confusing from a new player's perspective, the game tells them to occupy themselves, and when they do it they get punished anyway.
Don't know if anyone knows and I know it's not relevant but I just figured out the coffee machines count as full ovens for 4 kg. Kinda useful
I never knew my agoraphobic build is why I never dealt with boredom
>loot a shopping district while game ending 347 zombies
>find a brand new sports car with the key in the ignition and 97% overall condition
>go home absolutely loaded with things that will make your life easier at an atomic scale
>most exhilarating day of your entire life
>comfort yourself with knowing there's 108 bars of chocolate in your kitchen cupboard
>still become severely depressed and borderline suicidal from spending 7 hours inside
bruh
Something that isn't obvious in the vanilla game is that drinking ANY amount of alcohol will completely remove all unhappiness after a few hours. Even a 1/4 sip of a beer bottle works.
The first thing i noticed in this video is the fingers. The fingers!
Boredom is where you get sick to fuck of seeing that little icon and want it changed
thank you so much, this was very helpfull. You my friend are a UA-cam
Honestly i always prefer to go out and kill zombies intentionally to get rid of boredom. I play with respawn off too so im doing myself a favor at the same time
Fun fact: if you worship the Dog Goblin, a single viewing of the VHS tape can put even a desensitized veteran into a full-blown state of panic. The Dog Goblin protects.
On my very first attempt at the game I was spawned in a tiny home with a few cabinets and one of them had a single VHS tape marked the Dog Goblin. I figured it was probably some kiddy cartoon or something... Yeah. That didn't go down well.
Ah yes being bored in the middle of thousands of zombies
Wat, no "if you have high fitness just sprint over to a zombie, smash head in and run back home"? that's how I do it :D
