A week back a coworker of mine told me his feminist (white) sister says you can't question racial claims or the plight of black people, you just have to go along with it! I got upset and said now THAT IS RACIST! With her worldview of how blacks should be treated, she relegated blacks to the little school bus of society. That actually pissed me off and frightened me in a way. Black people are strong people who can take criticism and engage in intelligent debate over a myriad of topics, especially racism. Every race should be called out on their shit by any other race if it is just. Blacks aren't some snowflake little brother that you have to let them have their way or they might have a tantrum.

We need mandatory Critical Thinking and Logic classes in universities. I majored in Philosophy at one of the 10 best programs in the country and I could've gotten my degree with no Logic class. Insane. I took it of my own accord because I knew I needed it. It taught me to think, break down arguments, spot fallacies. Every college student should know how to do this. Every high school student should know how. I'm convinced there is a concerted effort to keep people stupid. And it affects liberals and conservatives.

BUT... now that this logic is being applied to Jewish Progressive Professors... NOW the Left has gone to far... You should have been defending rational thought when the far Left was attacking reasonable members of the Right with unreasonable claims like these. I was just having a discussion with a member of the LGBT community who said to me, "I don't think you can understand the experience or perspective of an LGBT and therefore your opinions on the LGBT experience are invalid." I responded, "Then you cannot understand the experience or perspective of a white heterosexual and your opinions on the Caucasian Heterosexual experience are invalid." That is how this absolutism of separation exists. If I cannot know and intuit at least some of what it is like to be black and therefore I can't KNOW that these things I am told about being black are true, not being black myself... THEN A black person cannot know and intuit at least some of what it is like to be WHITE and therefore cannot know that the things I claim about being white are true or not, not being white, himself. Maybe there really IS no such thing as white privilege. Maybe it is WORSE to be a white male in society today than a black male. No one can ever really know unless they ARE the thing, themselves, according to this logic. It is fundamentally flawed and fallacious - and the Left should have stepped on it a long time ago, because now it is eating its own. And believe me, those of us on the Right who understand - are watching and enjoying every minute of it, and we will not come to your aid or defense.

This reminds me of an incident I encountered at my university (college). I am a Film Studies student and trust me I know it's basically a worthless degree but I do believe that it will help gain connections and some experience especially since it's at a great university in a great location and also I am content because I learn about things I love. However I did have an incident in one of my classes. We were asked to produce a Visual Essay, me and my group decided for our theme to feature the idea of Western and Eastern world problems and as we hated the class due to super liberal teachers, we decided to put minimal effort in. We took footage of an real life IS execution carried out by a child and intertwined it with videos such as 'fat girl life hacks' and 'What pronouns to use'. The video was about 2 minutes long and was around 60% execution video 20% colours and 10% of the videos mentioned above. After screening the footage my group was absolutely verbally destroyed by the teachers and a minority of the group. We were called transphobes, sexists and even racists (based on the fact that the girl in the fat hacks videos was black). Even got told to check our privileges. Some students left the class crying, our group was abused for about 40 minutes (our presentation was meant to take 10), we had to take a break afterwards and the class was ultimately cut short. It was at that moment that I completely lost my faith in the left and never showed up to that class again.
I used to consider myself a liberal/progressive but god damm what the hell happened? This is a time where we progressives should come together. But instead I feel we are falling apart.

I'm a liberal, I'm a progressive. However, I don't stop being a liberal, I don't stop being a progressive for disagreeing with these people who call themselves "progressives". There is a problem if our culture hijacks the definition of such ideologies into something they are not, and there is even a bigger problem if it retroactively applies that change to previous people that identified with them.

We need mandatory Critical Thinking and Logic classes in universities. I majored in Philosophy at one of the 10 best programs in the country and I could've gotten my degree with no Logic class. Insane. I took it of my own accord because I knew I needed it. It taught me to think, break down arguments, spot fallacies. Every college student should know how to do this. Every high school student should know how. I'm convinced there is a concerted effort to keep people stupid. And it affects liberals and conservatives.
I heard a study on the radio, and I'm paraphrasing, but 60% of university professors in America are left-leaning and 90ish% are extremely left-leaning by their declaration. That is an extremely unbalanced group of ideas at a place where different viewpoints and ideas are supposed to be tolerated and vocalized. I once saw a professor lecture down to one of my classmates after class because he voted for Romney

So, as a conservative white male I've been enduring these kind of accusations for years now. This logic really ramped up during the second term of the Obama administration.
If I do not admit that my white privilege blinds me to the inherent oppressive advantage of my position in society, it is *because* I am a white racist male who benefits from the system and I am blinded by my white privilege. The *only* acceptable answer is to ACCEPT that being white and male makes me privileged and blind to that privilege, according to the political Left.
And, the political Left has been, at best, silent - as long as those claims were being levied against white male conservatives.
If I disagree about the level or extent to which any "victim class" as defined by the left is oppressed, it is because I am an oppressive white male. I am homophobic, or xenophobic, or Islamophobic, or misogynistic. I am blind to their oppression because of my privilege. I am mansplaining, or whitesplaining, or some other secret Left Wing cant about CISGendered binary normal breeders oppressing the rainbow of human diversity in sexuality.
BUT... now that this logic is being applied to Jewish Progressive Professors...

You should have been defending rational thought when the far Left was attacking reasonable members of the Right with unreasonable claims like these.
I was just having a discussion with a member of the LGBT community who said to me,
"I don't think you can understand the experience or perspective of an LGBT and therefore your opinions on the LGBT experience are invalid."
I responded,
"Then you cannot understand the experience or perspective of a white heterosexual and your opinions on the Caucasian Heterosexual experience are invalid."
That is how this absolutism of separation exists. If I cannot know and intuit at least some of what it is like to be black and therefore I can't KNOW that these things I am told about being black are true, not being black myself...
THEN
A black person cannot know and intuit at least some of what it is like to be WHITE and therefore cannot know that the things I claim about being white are true or not, not being white, himself. Maybe there really IS no such thing as white privilege. Maybe it is WORSE to be a white male in society today than a black male. No one can ever really know unless they ARE the thing, themselves, according to this logic.
It is fundamentally flawed and fallacious - and the Left should have stepped on it a long time ago, because now it is eating its own.
And believe me, those of us on the Right who understand - are watching and enjoying every minute of it, and we will not come to your aid or defense.
We've already seen the same thing applied to accusations of sexual harassment or rape on college campuses.
"To question an allegation of racism is racist."
"To question an allegation of sexual harassment or rape is misogynistic and sexual harassment itself."
"Right, we have an obligation to believe them."

It's not a problem with "language", it's a problem with BELIEFS. It goes back to the times of our forefathers. Also, the subject of racism is complex. You don't understand what is to be black or minority UNLESS YOU ARE IT, or (perhaps) are married to a person of a different race. Period.

This reminds me of an incident I encountered at my university (college).
I am a Film Studies student and trust me I know it's basically a worthless degree but I do believe that it will help gain connections and some experience especially since it's at a great university in a great location and also I am content because I learn about things I love.
However I did have an incident in one of my classes. We were asked to produce a Visual Essay, me and my group decided for our theme to feature the idea of Western and Eastern world problems and as we hated the class due to super liberal teachers, we decided to put minimal effort in. We took footage of an real life IS execution carried out by a child and intertwined it with videos such as 'fat girl life hacks' and 'What pronouns to use'. The video was about 2 minutes long and was around 60% execution video 20% colours and 10% of the videos mentioned above.
After screening the footage my group was absolutely verbally destroyed by the teachers and a minority of the group. We were called transphobes, sexists and even racists (based on the fact that the girl in the fat hacks videos was black). Even got told to check our privileges.
Some students left the class crying, our group was abused for about 40 minutes (our presentation was meant to take 10), we had to take a break afterwards and the class was ultimately cut short.
It was at that moment that I completely lost my faith in the left and never showed up to that class again.
I used to consider myself a liberal/progressive but god damm what the hell happened? This is a time where we progressives should come together. But instead I feel we are falling apart.
Remember when those old white dudes called republicans asked "where does it stop?" Turns out that was a good question.
